The property was not a clean as we expected. It was stains all over the furniture, pet hair all over the furniture, bathrooms, beds, and it all transferred on our clothes. We had to wash the bedding and try and vacuum the area rugs to eliminate with no success. The power and hot water went out on my family on Christmas Eve morning, and we were without power until about 1:30pm Christmas morning. We were soooo cold and uncomfortable. We tried to make the best of it, but it was a very unfortunate situation with little children in the household and being with power and hot water for over 24 hours. Again, we tried to make the best of it, but it did make our visit for Christmas very challenging. We called several times and was told we couldn't be accommodated in any way from one Representative that was disheartening.

We are sorry to hear about your poor experience, Eulonda, and we fully understand the frustration that was caused to you or your guests during this unpleasant experience. Having to deal with cleanliness issues, HVAC issues, and water issues is unacceptable, and we can assure you that this is not the norm for us. Unfortunately, during your stay with us, the city had widespread power outages, affecting a noteworthy amount of properties. We were unable to offer an alternative cabin due to the uncertainty of having to deal with a substantial amount of power outages. We apologize for any and all inconvenience and discomfort that you experienced, and we hope you will be able to return to enjoy the Smokies again in the future.
We really enjoyed our stay at Mountain Acres. The layout of the house was great for an extended family with grandparents, parents, and kids. We loved hanging out on the multiple porches to enjoy the beautiful surrounding trees, especially the screened porch. Even when we were hanging out inside all the windows made us feel like we were still outside. The furnishings were very nice and comfortable and the place was very clean. The outside could've used a hose down. There was a thick layer of pollen on everything that required a good scrub before we could enjoy it. All-in-all a beautiful property that felt very private and tucked away in the trees with a long driveway. We loved the Big Canoe community and took advantage of all of the hiking, pool and boat rentals on the lake. We look forward to coming back and would definitely rent this property again.
