We stayed here for a month in October. There was so much we loved about this apartment. The location half a block to Central Park and to a lovely commercial street, around the corner to the subway station. Just fantastic. The living/dining room area is very spacious with two big closets. The kitchen and bathroom are very small. The bed is comfortable. The apartment is very quiet because it is in the rear of the building. The kitchen had everything we needed. The furniture is serviceable, but not fancy and there were some small repairs needed in the bathroom, but these were really minor issues. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to a friend.
We had a wonderful stay and we'd do it again (and hope to) as we love the neighborhood and access to Central Park, 16 min walk to the Met (how great is that), good subway access (around the corner B/C and 3 blocks to 1 train. Enjoyed the restaurants and vibe in the UWS W 80's. Brian was incredibly responsive, installed the air conditioners, had a lamp repaired - highly recommend him and all communications. The stairs weren't too bad (13 to a landing and then another 19) but wouldn't want to go higher; got used to the stairs after a week. The apartment is fairly roomy, has all one needs in the kitchen; tiny but serviceable older bathroom, plenty of closet space, could be touched up to make it feel more maintained (paint splatters, caulking, gaps, small touch-ups) but wouldn't stop us anyway from recommending. The building is ok, quiet, no issues other than I'd love to see the outside entry area (where trash/recycle located) washed and cleaned and better kept. The apartment location overcomes any shortcomings of these maintenance issues in our minds.
We had such an amazing time staying at Brian’s place. The apartment is huge for New York and the location is impeccable. 1/2 block from the subway, 1/2 block from the museum of natural history, and upper west side is just amazing. Brian was a great host and was very responsive and helpful. I would stay here again in an instant and we were so sad to leave!
