Located in Gainesville, this cottage is in a rural area. Gainesville War Memorial and Site of Fort Fitzhugh are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Lake Texoma and Edison Park. Lavender Ridge Farms and Frank Buck Zoo are also worth visiting.
We loved this little cottage and our host, Linda, was very kind and friendly! I want to return to this area just to stay here again with how cute and enjoyable our visit was! Be mindful of the loft when booking here. The steps up to the loft are narrow and a person must crawl across the floor when in that space. It housed myself, DIL and two granddaughters quite nicely for the weekend we were there for a wedding.
The actual property and the host was great! There was an issue with the address in that it took us in a totally wrong direction down a gravel road which was kind of scary where we ended up. I talked with her about this and I think something needs to be done about it though. She said we are not the first to experience this!! I tried the address on Google Maps and Waze. We had to call her and she walked us through all the way to the VRBO!!
If you’re looking for a peaceful and beautiful getaway, I highly recommend this cabin. The location is quiet and relaxing, and the cabin was spotless and fully stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was incredibly kind and attentive, making sure our experience was perfect. We can’t wait to book another stay!
Enjoyed our stay, everything we wanted to do was close by.

The stay was so pleasant and ducked off from city traffic. The owner was sooooooo nice and professional about everything
We Loved the property we are going back
Lovely little cottage in a quiet area but easy enough to find while following Waze. Feels like you're home, out of the city, but close enough to get necessities or a meal. Would definitely stay here and / or recommend! 4-star given for communicating with host ONLY because when we messaged regarding internet connection, we didn't hear back from her. Overall, not a biggie.

Sarah I did not get your message about internet issues. The recent storms caused internet service to be spotty. I am always available by phone. Texts sometimes come late.
Great stay. Communication was great with Linda. Our only downside for use was that we had a boat for a fishing tournament and we didn’t know that we would be driving on a dirt road with created a huge mess on my boat. Other than that, Highly recommend anyone to stay
I wanted a place to stay for a nephew’s wedding nearby. This cottage was exactly what I wanted. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Also the blueberry muffins from a local bakery that the host provided were fantastic. I would strongly recommend staying at this cottage.

Robert was a great guest. He left it clean and neat. He is welcome back any time.
We were in the Whitesboro area for an activity. The cabin was a great alternative to a hotel - comparable in price and much more comfortable! The only downside was that the 100+ degree weather made it difficult for the loft to stay cool. A box fan available made it cool enough to sleep.
We would definitely stay there again!

Bryan thanks for choosing the country getaway. Come again anytime.
The cottage was clean, comfy and cozy. We did expected more seclusion from the other cottage, homes and road. Needed some sort of shade from the morning sun while having coffee on the front porch. It was quite and in all we enjoyed being there. Thanks

I had not considered the morning sun. Thanks for your input.
The house was comfortable and convenient. Would recommend staying here, however be aware for the little dog that belongs to the owner. I accidentally locked myself out of the rental and called the owner for a spare key, she said to meet her on the porch to get it. She also said the Yorker dog wouldn’t both me, however, while trying to walk up to the porch it bit my jeans around my ankles multiple times (I was able to avoid skin contact) then after I got the key and was leaving the porch, it jumpedUp and bit me in the back of the leg and made contact. Luckily it didn’t break the skin but left a good sized bruise and welt considering how small the dog is. As long as you don’t have an interaction with the dog, this is a great place to stay
We had concert tickets at Lucas Oil for Friday and Saturday night, but didn't want to be at or near the casino. This location was perfect for what we were wanting, and the scenery was beautiful to wake up to. The cabin was bigger than what we thought it might be based on the pictures. Had everything we needed, was located in a peaceful and quiet area, and was still only 20 or 25 minutes away from our concerts.THANK YOU!!
