Perfect Place

We loved this house and it was perfect for our stay. The house is very clean and comfortable and has everything. We felt right at home. The location is great, in a nice neighborhood and a short drive to the Glacier National Park entrance. It is within walking distance of a couple restaurants. The hosts are extremely helpful, responsive, and provided information on the house and area. We will definitely stay here again.

Great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay & wish we had scheduled more down time at the house. Plenty of space for all 6 of us, house was well-stocked and clean, with books, games, places to store clothes, comfortable beds. Loved having the outdoor picnic table and chairs. Easy drive to Glacier NP, Whitefish, and nearby airport. The owner provided tons of information about local restaurants and notes about visiting the national park and was very responsive. Would definitely return.

My brothers and I did a sibling 3-day vacation! The house was perfect for us, one of my brothers is handicap and the house worked out wonderful. The owners were so kind and always quick on response. The neighborhood was quiet, we enjoyed a small walk around the area!! It was a great trip!

Gateway to Glacier!

We were super pleased with everything about the Avocado Abode! We rented the place to visit both Glacier National Park and Whitefish and it was the perfect location. Just minutes from the West Entrance of the park and a short, easy drive into Whitefish. We rode touring bikes to explore the park, and we absolutely loved the big 2 car garage! The home was very nicely stocked with kitchen items and pretty much everything you'd need to cook with. The couch and beds and linens were nice and comfy and the driveway and property was super accommodating for the vehicles. Location was super awesome to a couple great restaurants (Backslope was amazing and the breakfast at Columbia Bar on Sunday was inexpensive but really superb). Communication with the owners was top notch. I really can't think of a single bad thing to share, it was truly a great place. THANK YOU!!!!!!

Great stay!

The Avocado house was the perfect property for us! We came to enjoy the National Park and this was the perfect home base. We had 8 people, a baby and a very small dog. There were plenty of beds for all. The young adults loved the downstairs space. It was super clean and remodeled exactly as specified in the listing. We used the bikes, the fire pit for snores and had an enough space to just chill. The master bedroom and bath were amazing.The hosts were very quick to respond to all our needs. Hope to return soon!

Family vacation

My husband and I took our three adult children, one son-in-law and a girlfriend on this vacation. This home was perfect for us! It was very comfortable, it had everything we need. Loved our stay at Avocado Adobe

We loved our stay at the Avocado Adobe and our three kids (12, 10, and 8) loved the theme - especially the light-up avocado in their "Avocado Cave." This house was a great layout for our family of five and, candidly, wish we would have stayed longer. It is a great location to visit Whitefish as well as Glacier National Park. It is close to groceries, restaurants, etc. and is a great home base. The kitchen was very functional with plenty of space and a nice dining room table. The bedrooms were all nice sizes with comfortable beds and ample closet space. The laundry facility was a huge plus given all of our hikes and outdoor adventures and has plenty of rooms with newer appliances. Overall, the hosts were very communicative and you definitely feel like they share your excitement for your trip. We stayed at five houses on our three week journey and this one was the best in terms of making us feel welcome.

Perfect homebase for 2 families!

Avocado Abode was a fantastic landing pad for our two families (4 adults, 4 kids). Everything was perfectly arranged, clean, and exactly as listed. Communication from Darren and Leslie was fantastic and responsive, they anticipated all of our needs. We greatly enjoyed the lovely backyard and yard toys, and the basement bunk room was perfect for our kids. They were smitten with the avocados! Highly recommend!

A true 5 star stay in Montana!

✅ Very clean and comfortable house (I am convinced that there was not a speck of dust in this house! Kept cool at night and felt safe in the neighborhood.) ✅ Great location (for traveling to Kalispell, Whitefish, Glacier National Park, etc. Also about 3 minutes away from the Super 1 grocery store, open 24 hours.) ✅ Excellent communication with host (Darren and Leslie sent several messages prior to our stay that were very helpful and detailed.) My husband and I stayed at the Avocado Abode last week- June 10-14th. We have been looking forward to coming back to Montana for the past three years and I am so glad that we booked this house! It was the most welcoming and clean vrbo house that my husband and I have stayed in. The kitchen had all of the necessities for cooking and there was plenty of counter space. The blackout curtains and comfortable beds guaranteed good sleep every night. The AC unit kept the living room and bedroom comfortable all throughout the day and night, and downstairs stayed cold! Located in a nice, quiet neighborhood and In an excellent location to travel to Kalispell, Whitefish, and Glacier National Park. The effort put into this house was clearly noticeable and every room. My husband and I can’t wait to visit Montana again. When we do, we are specifically going to search for this house to hopefully stay here again. We are so glad we found the Avocado Abode! 🥑

Perfect base camp for exploring!

My husband, myself and my daughter spent 5 wonderful nights in the Avocado Abode. The owners have done a fantastic job of bringing this 100 year old home back to life. The Avocado Abode is Awesome!

We just got back from a week visiting GNP. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Avocado Abode! All communications with Darren were clear and helpful. He’s a very nice person who wanted our stay to be great. Check-in was simple, as was check-out. The house was VERY well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. We didn’t even have to buy condiments or paper products. The house/beds were clean and comfortable. The location worked very well for us. The drive to GNP was easy. Great place!

We had friends visiting from Italy and we wanted to take them to Glacier and the surrounding area. The Avocado Abode was the perfect place. It worked perfectly for our party of 7 and had all the amenities we needed. We were able to cook and prepare our meals without any issues. The teenagers enjoyed the bikes and lawn games and we also enjoyed the fireplace outside in the evening. Communication with the host was easy and very friendly. We will definitely use the Avocado Abode the next time!! Thank you!!

Awesome Adobe!

Darren and Leslie provided a completely hassle free experience. Their property was well kept, clean and provided everything one would expect. They went above and beyond expectations with additional information about Glacier NP, and the Columbia Falls area. The proximity to Glacier and Whitefish makes it a convenient property. Amazing stay at Avocado Abode

I can not say enough good things about this property!! This property was immaculate (I’m super picky too) and even had “vacuum lines” as we entered! We were a mixed aged family group 65(2), 40(2), 20,13,9,6,2 and there was a space for everyone! We really appreciated the amazing lower level space with bunk beds, 2 twin beds and a sleeper sofa! This house really thought of the small things that make a property 5 stars! - the towels were extra large and plush and there were so many that everyone could use as many as they wanted - beach towels were provided for any excursion and were very helpful when our 6 yo would get in any water we passed - better than average shower heads were nice and powerful - supplied nice shampoo, conditioner and Dove body wash -large soaking tub -spices being present were helpful -baby gate was such a nice touch -ample laundry detergent, dryer sheets and even stain spray -black towels for face washing -lots of games to play and borrow after a day of hiking - lots of books for relaxing and KID books for a bedtime story Communication was amazing! - answered any question I had and gave great hike and food recommendations - responded quickly to any question - let us know how to check in and it worked great for us House was about 20/25 min to west glacier entrance which was super nice There was so much to do in the area will definitely stay here when we come back to Glacier! What a gem to find!!

Darren has 3 generations of family that moved, worked, lived, loved the state of Montana. My great grandfather, Austin Hooper, owned a saw mill in Lincoln, MT in the 1920's and he was involved in local government. My mother and sister were born here. We visit Montana often and could not wait to make our purchase in Flathead Valley! Columbia Falls is the center of your adventure, quiet outside the doorstep, but within 2-20 minutes of everything you may want to see! The photo of Leslie and I was taken in Glacier National Park, 25 minutes from the driveway. I'm available via VRBO message throughout the day! I typically respond within 20 minutes! Our entire goal is that you have a wonderful experience, where you cannot wait to return, or tell a friend about the Avocado Abode in Columbia Falls, Montana! If you are fortunate enough to drive in from out of state, the drive to the house north of I-90 (St. Regis, MT) to the home feels like you're driving through a national forest that continues on and on! The Avocado Abode is a unique, and wonderful Montana experience! Leslie and I are proud to say we are Premier Hosts, and we are licensed and insured to host you, the CORRECT way. Many rentals are illegal in Montana.... The Avocado Abode is 100% legal to host! The neighbors are inviting, and are extremely kind. We've become friends! The house has old restored charm from1926 with the arched livingroom, and its freshly milled and cut custom wood working that you see on the front eves of the house and the shop which came from Eureka, Montana! The patio rock and even the crushed gravel are from local rock quarry's! The rock walkway took 1 month to complete!
Over 150k dollars was spent inside and out, making the home interior, exterior, all new wiring, paint, flooring, rock work, roof, and brand new master bath suite addition, a success! The house and shop share the same new windows, paint, trim, woodwork and custom rock base wall. We did not want to offer used outdated items in our premier listing. You'll find that nearly EVERYTHING in the home is new.
RV/travel trailer/snowmobile trailer 30' trailer + longbed truck, will fit on the gravel of the west side of the house! We offer a full kitchen, 3 types of coffee, cremes sugars, alternatives, as well as Avocado Abode, Montana made soap, just for you! New beds, new mattresses, plush pillows, new sheets, pillow covers and cases, HD smart TV's.... We wanted to make the house a popular attraction from its charm, its new furnishings, a secure place to store your trailer, mountain bikes, dirtbikes, side by side, fishing boat, PWC's, snowmobiles, and maybe even your hunting gear. We built a work shop bench so that if you're here and need a place to perform a fix or maintenance, that's an availability as well! We also have set the house up so that if you're travelling to get away from the busy city and want to soak up Montana vibes, you'll be perfectly happy in the house without leaving! Kids as well! What makes this property unique

Read our reviews! Kids and parents alike LOVE the "ABOCADO HOUSE" as kids say. The moment you enter the home, or drive down the driveway, you see the property is quirky. Its unique. We invite you to make it your own. Besides the colors, the raw woodworking, we love the thick walls, the 2x6 boards that were used for the floors underneath the wood flooring. The arched doorways. The large bookshelf that we've transformed into a "take a book, leave a book" library. And the master bath is wonderful!

The house is set up in a way so that if you're travelling with kids, the downstairs den is a large bedroom and "hang out" it has a small reading relaxing nook area, and a bigger den area. We dont mention the den often, but one guest said it should be highlighted! Love reading down there! The house offers a bit of a "kids downstairs, adults upstairs" vibe. If you're travelling with all adults, the twin beds downstairs are ADULT mattresses, and the bright blue couch converts to a queen hide a bed. The den has a 43" 4K HD smart TV, all bedrooms and living room have HD smart TV's. The master bath suite offers a large jacuzzi jet tub for relaxing after a day of fun experiences. Enter the home in the summer, to an air conditioned upstairs! We are at 3,100 feet in elevation! The home has AC installed from May 1st to October 1st of every year. It has no need for AC the other half of the year. In the winter, the house will be nice and toasty thanks to a NEST thermostat! If you prefer a warmer house or a cooler house, you can message me before your arrival and I can remotely set that for you! Up to 2 well behaved, and floor sleeping, dogs are allowed to stay in the home! You will receive an additional message from us, if booking with dogs. A simply acknowledgement, no contract! No dogs downstairs (we have a baby gate at the top of the stairs). No unattended doggies at the house please! We want you to have a blast with us!
