River Overlook right outside Glacier National Park
Enjoy this freshly remodeled 4 bed, 2 bath home on an acre located above the Flathead River with beautiful views in all directions! Central AC added in June 2021. Located just 10 minutes from the west entrance of Glacier National Park this is the perfect home base for hiking, fishing, biking, floating the river, driving Going-to-the-Sun Highway, boating and winter recreation! The property is located a few blocks from a grocery store and various other shops you may want to visit. Regarding the bedrooms, you do pass through the queen bedroom on the main floor to access the bunk bed room. There are several steps up to the other 2 queen bedrooms with a bathroom with walk-in shower between them. The other full bathroom is on the main floor. The home has brand new furniture and furnishings in 2020 and is ready to welcome your group for a trip to remember to the Flathead!! The property sits above the Flathead River, as shown in the photos, and there is a very steep bank to the river which prohibits walking directly to it. There are, however, several river access points very nearby! We have cornhole for the back yard, and ping pong table and wall darts downstairs! This home is dog-friendly up to 2 dogs as long as you notify the host at the time of booking and clean up after them. No cats allowed, thank you. Contact me for extended stay discounts. The property sits above the Flathead River and has amazing views but also a very steep bank down to the river and therefore cannot be accessed from the property. There are several river access points very nearby and the river is wonderful for floating or fly fishing (get a local fishing license at Sportsmans or Snappy Sporting Goods)!

The house was perfect for a nice gathering at the dinner table and outside. We enjoyed our stay. My only complaint would have been the lack of privacy for the two rooms downstairs.
Perfect location for exploring Glacier NP, Whitefish, Kalispell and more! Place was clean and comfortable for our group. Beautiful place to wake up and see the mountains and river while enjoying your coffee.
The property was awesome! Comfortable, great view, everything you could possibly need or want was there!! Location was very good and the view spectacular!!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us, we are so happy you enjoyed the home!
Wonderful visit. Would rent again. Accommodated 4 adult men very well. Was wonderfully positioned just outside the park. Very close, short walk to a nice grocery store.
Couldn't have a higher recommendation for a rental property than this one! Absolutely fantastic view and top-notch accommodations.
This is an excellent property for anyone looking to enjoy the GNP-area and the Flathead Valley
Needed a home base as we checked out local towns and national parks. Great space and location. Had a wonderful time and plenty of room for our time at the house. Excellent indoor and outdoor space. Fully fenced yard with awesome views.
The house was in a perfect location for our family vacation to Glacier National Park. It was very clean and well equipped. The kitchen and 2nd floor shower were a little tight, but we made it work. Really enjoyed the yard and deck. Grocery store nearby was very convenient. Overall a great rental.
My only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer. The view from this house is amazing, the host was very responsive and the house fit our needs perfectly. Beds were comfortable, deck was great and the proximity to Glacier National Park was wonderful. The house was also modern and very clean.

Our stay was wonderful!! The house had just been updated all throughout and was beautiful. We were about 15 minutes outside of the West Glacier entrance. It was very conveniently located. The view and back porch area were both amazing! I wish we had more time to stay at this house. One of the best VRBO experiences we have had!
This property was a wonderful respite to our family of eight as we took in the wonder that is Glacier National Park. The home is immaculate, well-furnished and located down a quiet dead-end road with a beautiful backyard view of the Flathead River. There is a well-equipped grocery store within walking distance of the house as well - this was a great (and unexpected) convenience. The host was gracious and very responsive to messages during the course of our stay. We would confidently recommend this home and this host to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing option near West Glacier.
Comfortable home with excellent views of Flathead River.
Perfect location of home with all the amenities. The fall colors were beautiful. We visited the Hungry Horse Dam, which is just up the road. We also went on a rafting trip down the Flathead River. Beautiful views.
We really enjoyed this property! The beautiful views while we played outside were welcome after a long day in the park. We enjoyed being able to walk to the little grocery store and Huck's for pie/shopping/dinner. The house had everything we needed for the adults and kids!
Everything was as described. Great base camp for all Glacier Park & nearby activities. Close to Whitefish activities. Groceries available 2 min away, VRBO is in great location, great views & great deck with grill.
We were a group of 9 (2 families) and this property was perfect for our needs. The house and yard are beautiful and gorgeously maintained and the proximity to everything - Glacier, groceries, gas, restaurants was exceptional. Sitting on the deck at night watching the sunset over the river was a lovely way to wrap up after our long days of hiking in the park. The house is also nicely stocked with all the basics which made cooking/eating at home so much easier. We would definitely book this property again if we were to come back.
The house was clean and modern, with plenty of space for 2 families (including 4 adults and 4 kids aged 7-10). The outdoor space and views of the river and mountains were way better than in the pictures! Also extremely convenient to access Glacier National Park, as well as all the towns and activities around NW Montana. I would definitely book this place again!
This home was perfect for our stay in HH. It had all the room and comforts of home we needed. The furnishings are very nice and comfortable beds. Can't beat the view and back yard area either. Also loved how close it was to the store.
The home is beautiful and we’ll kept. The views from the backyard are breath taking. The home is well supplied and spacious. Close proximity to Glacier. We had an excellent time there and highly recommend.

Wow! They really pulled the wool over our eyes on this one.
Safety was our first and foremost concern. We thought GPS sent us to the wrong location. The neighbor across the way had multiple vehicles from out of state all parked along their property. It looked like a car junkyard. And they had religious paraphernalia and signs all posted outside their home. Talk about scary! We were encouraged by the property manager to park our car on the street, we were hesitant after seeing this, but while the garage remains free
We checked all the windows and doors for security, low and behold 5 windows wouldn't lock. One can easily slide them open from the outside and gain access to the inside.
The property itself looks nice! It was the neighborhood and neighbor that was the greatest concern.
We are strangers coming into strange place. We didn't feel safe. We contacted the property manager about the windows, she asked me what I wanted her to do at 6pm at night as she was 45 minutes away.
We found firewood to use as dowels and placed them all along the window tracks. And also stated "feel free to look for more wood in the woods behind the property".
Are you kidding me?
I'm on vacation and shouldn't have to worry about this.
Then we went out to dinner. As night cap, we wanted to have camomile tea to help ease us and relax us to sleep. The kettle had white residue on rinsing. So I took a closer look at the inside. Well someone had used it to boil milk? in. It made me think, they really didn't clean the property between client use. It made me think also, were the bedsheets and towels cleaned as well if in the first few hrs we're finding this!
The next day , by the dining table we found bottled water cap and what seems like 2 mice droppings. Ugh! We were only going to stay 4 night and 3 days. I don't want our vacation ruined by complaints piling up by the day. Plus who wants to spend all day playing phone tag while you're on vacation with little or no cell coverage to the very place where we were going
Close to Glacier National Park was one reason why we chose this place. They were only 11 miles away. BUT, for peace of mind, we would have stayed elsewhere. I felt like I was in the ghetto!
The supermarket down the road was robbed so they had a wanted sign and a picture of the perp on their window. Not to mention the colorful people hanging out the laundromat next to the supermarket.

For future guests: the window latches were repaired within a few days of being made aware they weren't latching properly. I did offer twice to come put dowels in the window tracks and this guest said the wood she placed in them was sufficient.
I have no idea why this guest said I recommended they park on the street, there isn't any street parking here but there are at least 2 off street parking spaces in the driveway. The location is a very rural town just outside a national park which is an amazingly beautiful area but very seasonal as the park is mainly open April - October. I hope you choose to enjoy the beauty of this property for your next trip to Glacier!

About the host
Hosted by Stephanie Mee
Explore Montana Rentals manages this property for it's local owner. The home was purchased in 2020 and had an extensive remodel/update and all the furniture and furnishings were bought new in 2020 as well.
Why they chose this property
This property is amazing for year round visits to Glacier National Park as it is just a 10-15 minute drive from West Glacier. It's perched above Flathead River and offers privacy and amazing views for your gathering! The home was completely remodeled in 2020, all furnishings were new in 2020/2021 and the home is tastefully decorated and should have everything your group needs to be comfortable!
What makes this property unique
This home has a private view of Flathead River and is close to a public river access. We do not recommend trying to get to the river from the back yard as the incline is steep and dangerous. This home is also pet friendly for those that would like to bring their furry friends along for their adventures in Montana.
