No electricity to many outlets, last week's birthday party decorations behind the furniture. Skeleton kitchen stuff like 1 potholder. Mold on ceiling in master bath the size of a dinner plate same in master closet, bath tub peeling in the master. Smoke detector was dead, my husband secured legs on all 6 dining room chairs. The bottom of our white socks very dirty, No cleaning supplies other than a broom and dish soap.Sheets were nice. Master bed comfortable. Nice distance from Naval base and Six Flags. Wifi didn't work last 24 hours of our stay. Compared to other VRBO's we have stayed in that felt like a home, this is not someone's home.

Our stay was perfect! It was very close to the Naval base, allowing us to walk to graduation in under twenty minutes. Our host was also top notch!! We had a situation come up and she drove out of her way to accommodate our need! Highly recommend!!

The host welcomed us & stayed in contact throughout our stay. The house was in a good location near the Naval Academy for our son’s graduation. All amenities were fine, however w/ no access to a washer-dryer it would have been nice to know there would only be 1 bath towel per person(8 people) for a 6 day stay. If we would have known we could have packed some extra towels but since we didn’t we had to use the same towel for 6 days.

House was clean. Ellie the host was very hospitable. Had some electrical issues after a windstorm and was quickly addressed. Just a breaker needing reset. As far as my son's pass and review, this place is within 5 to 10 min. Of everything you need to do to have a great stay. The NEX to pick up tickets is like 3 min way and the base is like 7 min. Definitely a great location to accomplish all things you need to do. Highly recommend.

This sounds more negative than the property really is, but I just want the next group to be realistic going in. I would have rated higher on cleanliness because the beds and bathrooms were clean and super comfy, but black mold was still present in the master closet and was just painted over in the master bath. I had already booked for my daughter’s naval graduation when I saw the black mold post. I was crossing my fingers it had been removed and sheetrock repaired. Not yet. There are minimal supplies-6 adults five days and 6 towels. no washer available to wash the towels either. We checked out today 9/6-Chicago was HOT. We’re from Texas and are used to hot, but the upstairs was a sauna. The four staying upstairs were prepared to sleep on the pull out couch if it had fit four. Master downstairs and living room were perfect though temperature if not a little frigid. Slightly difficult to pull a large vehicle into the chain linked property but possible. Distance to the naval base was prime! Last, lots of old stairs of varying heights, so climbing and descending can be a challenge if you have mobility issues i.e., 7 month pregnant daughter and a 2 year old, and yes railing is still loose up top. Overall higher rating because for our group size it checked a lot of boxes. Just an older home in need of TLC.

We traveled from California for our son’s RTC bootcamp graduation. It was 3 degrees outside and the home was cozy and warm when we arrived. The home is nice and close to base which made it fantastic for picking up tickets, and our Sailor. The host was very kind and quick to respond if we had a question about anything. Great fenced in parking for our rental car in the alley. Would highly recommend.

Excellent location (less than 2 miles from GL Naval Station) for families attending Seaman Recruit boot camp graduation. 4 bdrms & 2 1/2 baths were perfect for several family members in town for graduation. Especially when our new Sailor was granted overnight liberty. Large family room area and separate large dining area were perfect for relaxing and when we ordered dinner in vs trying to go out.

The owner of the property was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Our family has stayed at two houses from the owner and each house is beautiful and well taken care of. Two graduations from Navy boot camp and two pleasant stays! I would recommend this house or any other of the owners properties.

Prime central location for Navy graduation weekend or to stay while visiting sailor who is in A school on the Great Lakes Naval Station. Four bedrooms perfect for a family, Unit was extremely clean. Owner communicates well very responsive.

Great rental for RTC graduation

We stayed here for 6 nights during our son’s naval RTC graduation. Very convenient if your sailor is staying in GL for A school and has liberty all weekend. So close to the base. Plenty of space for lots of family members. Older home but it is clean, communication with owner was good and they allowed us a late check out to spend as much time with our sailor.

Perfect for Navy graduation. Minutes from the base. Cozy home in a quiet neighborhood. Plenty of room and very clean. An older house that's been well taken care of. For me, it felt like visiting 'grandma's house'. Very homey and comfortable. The host is great too.

The home is very close to base and was clean. The stairs to the second floor are old and not straight which can be a hazard. It worked for what we needed.
