Johanna and I met and married when we were living in Europe. We've never stopped feeding our love to travel, and still do travel a fair bit. It is always a treat to find someone local who can give you a hint about where to dine, what to see and what to miss. We have called the Puget Sound home for more than 30 years, so if you have a question about the area, please let us know. We have 3 adult children, and recently became grand parents.

Why they chose this property

Those views. We fell in love with the property and bought it immediately. Within 4 weeks of closing we had it fully furnished and ready to go. I still get a thrill just drinking my coffee and watching the ships move about the harbor. Or catch the woodpeckers, hummingbirds, Stellar Jay's and the resident eagles flying about. The property sits at the end of a dead end street, perfect for peaceful walks about the garden, or sit in the bench or at the fire pit and just take in the views.

What makes this property unique

The Captain's House is a recently renovated duplex with a generous main level and even more spacious upper level. The upper level (Captain's Quarters) has the wrap around deck. None of the other houses in the neighborhood sit as high on this bluff overlooking Commencement Bay and the Olympic Mountains in the west. If you want the sun to wake you, just leave your blinds open a bit, and let the sunrises spill into your bedroom. Furnished with comfy beds, each bedroom boasts ample room to unpack for longer stays with dressers and closet space (with hangers!). Pull your cozy towel from the heated towel rack to start your day off right. Each full bathroom has a blowdryer, shampoo, body wash and also a full-sized laundry center, complete with laundry detergent.
