We were in town for several days for a baseball tournament, and the Lucky Duck was perfect for our stay. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, a beautiful view, and wonderful hosts.
The house and location where ideal! Couldn't have asked for better Arrangements. Would highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a place to stay with covered place to put your boat and belongings and a dock on a great fishing lake.
Our daughter and her family came from out of town and stayed at the property for thr weekend. They really enjoyed it! Caught a few fish and just relaxed. Thanks
We had the car loaded down with our 2 kids and a baby. We ended up having unexpected car trouble after 2 hours on the road and were advised by 2 Ford dealerships not to drive that far. We kindly reached out to the property seeing if they would work with us on this unexpected situation. The response was very disappointing. We tried cancelling the reservation but VRBO system would not let us. The only way they would refund our trip is if someone else rebooked. They offered us to come another time, but it was for a different property and only during the off season. Thanks for being fake nice.

Renting this property is how we pay the mortgage on the property. We are not a big corporation and we depend on the income to pay the bills. I understand things come up (which is why it is always advisable to purchase travel insurance), but you wanted to cancel the stay after you were already supposed to check in. We offered you multiple options, but you refused them all. We offered to give you free additional nights so that you could get your car fixed and would still be able to stay the same amount of nights. We offered to send the money back if you would call VRBO and cancel your reservation. We even advertised to help and had someone who was willing to book. I would have sent your money back in full, but you refused to call VRBO. We even spoke with VRBO on your behalf but you would not reach out to them the confirm the cancellation. Because you refused to go through the proper channels to cancel the reservation, the system would not release the days so someone else could book. We could at least recoup some of our losses that would have been caused from your cancellation. We offered to let you come back completely FOR FREE at either property (not just the other property) as long as it was during the off season. I believe that we went above and beyond to be nice, even though you were quite ugly to us in return.

Good stay for 2 except we were 4
Main floor was great w. large master suite. Kitchen needed TLC, many lihts not working or missing bulbs, cabinet doors needing handles.
Upstairs perfect for a bunch of kids, we were not. There was a large tub there, one of us filled it looking forward to nice soak, too bad water had turned cold! We had not used shower downstairs, or anything that should have depleted the hot water! Needs to be looked after by the owner!
Beautiful outdoor places.

I am so sorry you were not satisfied. I believe that we did everything to make your stay better, but this is still a short term rental. I believe the kind of service you need is more suited to a hotel with 24 hour concierge service.
The Lucky Duck is 2700 sq ft. and has two bedrooms that are not kid-themed. There is plenty of room for 4 adults without utilizing the kid room. Our kitchen cabinets are designed without handles.
When you notified us there was no hot water in the upstairs bathroom, we hired a handyman to come check it out. The water was hot and working appropriately. He also checked the TV that you messaged was broken, but it worked fine.
You expressed several concerns, including the type of shampoo and hand wash and the lack of body lotion. All of which were repurchased and delivered. You stated the yard had too many leaves so we paid extra to have lawn care come that day. Your guests were cold outside, so a propane tank was brought to you. You stated the bathtub was leaking so we hired a plumber, but we could not find a leak. And I personally swept the porch but I could not do that daily as requested.
We believe in going above and beyond for guests, but it is designed more for comfort and relaxation, not a luxury stay. I hope you find the perfect stay in the future that better suites your needs.

We were in town for a baseball tournament and the short drive was perfect! We were a bit closer to the the main house than I expected from the pictures. There was a TV in each room but no internet for service. Upstairs bathroom had mold on the ceiling, and the showerhead was very low. The downstairs bathroom had a slow drain in the shower. There are no doors on the upstairs bedrooms. Privacy was an issue. The screened porch made it very nice to sit and enjoy the evenings outside! Overall the place just needs some TLC and routine maintenance to make it a 10/10!
Lets start with the fishing deck... 2 stairs are broken and look like they have been for quite awhile very unsafe. The bbq pit has a large hole in the bottom rendering it unusable. Wooden swing it looked uncared for, I wouldnt sit in it. Patio chair is broken. Concrete table.. top not attached. top is very unstable. Upstairs full bed in the room with the twin is just a foam piece on top of a box springs. Not suitable for an adult! Twin has broken slates falling from the bottom. The other full bed upstairs head board is not attached so when you roll over it bounces off the wall. Kitchen...not even salt and pepper in the cabinets. Master bedroom bed as a down slant at the head. We slept upside down. We also had to sweep under the carport so we wouldnt drag in debris. We had to clean the upstairs tub all kinds of hair left behind. Candy wrappers left inder the twin bed. Looks like it was a great place at one time. But for what i paid i was expecting to sleep comfortable and maybe some pepper.

This property is overrated and over priced because the whole living area is not useable. Only the downstairs is decent. The living quarters are oudated and filthy. The kitchen appliances were so filthy. I wouldnt dare cook a family meal in there. The master does not have a working shower and the ceiling has a huge spots of water damage so we were afraid to use upstairs shower which is a loft style bathroom-you would have to be very short to use.the whole upstairs is a loft style and very claustrophobic and big Joe is just a big bean bag use to cover up all the stains on the carpet. The whole upstairs carpeted and dingy. The fishing doc was the best of this propery for us. Our host was rude, unfriendly and unavailable. We asked her to give us a call about the property, she said that she was unavailable to talk at the time and asked us to text. For the whole time that we were there she never called to check on us. She did not supply us wifi codes. The thermostat was digitally controlled by host. The nights were extremely cold and the days were kept hot. They did everything to make us feel unwelcomed.they even harassed our guest. If they had a problem they should have addressed us personally. The guest was only joining us on doc to fish. I would certainly not recommend this property. The way that we were treated and watched was very unsettling. We were treated like intruders on the property. Diversity training is definitely needed. Our weekend was ruined.
The house was very clean, and hostesses were awesome. They was in contact with us sure during our stay to make sure our stay pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely highly recommend staying at the Lakehouse
