We have stayed here at The Zen Den multiple times, because it is close to the ULM campus and our daughter. The house has everything you need to cook, relax, and feel comfortable in a home away your home. I would say the only downside is the home is older than most we have rented, so a couple things may be difficult for renters like the toilet angle and the high bed in the master suite. However we love the property and the owners, because they make sure you have everything you need and make you feel like family. One of our favorite places to stay in Monroe!

Great location!! The place had everything we needed. Clean and well supplied with extras. Would have liked to relaxed in the hammock or swing but they were not working. Other than that everything was perfect. Quiet, clean, easy to check in, and well stocked. 10/10 recommend.

We had a great stay. The house is very comfy and has everything you need. It's also close and convenient to the grocery store, restaurants, shopping and anything else you need. We hope to visit again soon.

Unfortunately, our stay did not meet our expectations, and we felt very uncomfortable in the property.We booked this home while attending a nationally recognized Christian conference held in this town each year. We were genuinely taken aback by the religious and spiritual décor throughout the house. There were Buddhist religious idols, objects with demonic or occult themes, hanging crystals, and an amulet displayed over the entrance. As Christians, we do not consider these harmless decorations or simply different artistic preferences. They represent religious and spiritual practices that are directly contrary to our faith, and we believe such objects and decor should have been disclosed in the listing.This was especially troubling given the timing of our stay. Because this conference is a major annual Christian gathering known nationwide, we believe hosts renting properties during that weekend should be especially transparent about religious or spiritual décor that may be present so guests can make an informed decision before booking. Had we known the extent of these items, we would not have chosen to stay here.There were also several cleanliness concerns. Immediately upon entering, we were hit with a very pungent and musty odor throughout the home. The stovetop was visibly dirty, the refrigerator needed to be wiped down, and the shower grout appeared moldy. We believe honest feedback is important so future guests can make informed decisions. Hosts were very friendly

The reason the house is called the Zen Den is to emphasize its spiratual nature. The various books and items displayed include many Christian ones including the Bible, the writings of John the apostle, a stutue of the Pieta amongst others. They are all meant to show a universal spiritslness.

Things I very much appreciated: This was a very nice house with a wonderful location. Lots nearby and easy access to go other places. The host was very responsive and helpful. Though we didn’t use the kitchen, it was very well stocked. The one drawback: the listing says the beds are queens. They seemed like full-size. A tight fit for two.

Love this place

We love this place!! It’s our home away from home. This place has everything you will ever need to feel at home. It’s a very nice quiet neighborhood. The neighborhood is centrally located with all of Monroe’s best places minutes away. Matt is an awesome host.
