About this property
Fantastic country house with pool for up to 6 people on the edge of the Cevennes
On the edge of the Cévennes, this Cevenol farmhouse with pool is situated on a large, secluded plot with unique distant views. Saint-Jean-Du-Gard is only a few minutes away by car, yet you can still breathe in the solitude and tranquillity of this unique region. Whether you want to hike, relax by the pool or river and enjoy the sun, explore the underworld of the Cevennes in the form of wonderful stalactite caves, take a ride on the steam train, gaze at huge bamboo forests or marvel at the remains of the Romans - this region offers everything your heart desires. Spread over 140 sqm, the house offers space for 6 people. A separate granny annexe awaits its guests with a large room with a double bed and a separate shower room. In the country house there are two bedrooms with 2 double beds, the larger room also has a sofa bed (just in case). The small kitchen offers everything a holidaymaker's heart desires. A large living room with fireplace invites you to linger on cooler evenings, in summer you meet on the veranda for a wine or enjoy the setting sun on the upper plateau. During the day, you can refresh yourself in the secluded pool area, barbecue on an open fire in the summer kitchen or enjoy the sun under the olive trees with a good aperitif. A few minutes' walk away, in a wonderful valley, is the Gardon de Mialet, the cleanest river in France, which invites you to swim in its pleasant temperatures. You can snorkel and watch the fish, or simply let yourself drift with the current. In general, there are many places for swimmers and anglers to discover in the diverse rivers. If it's too hot, you can visit one of the many stalactite caves or take a ride on the steam train. Incredible bamboo giants can be marvelled at in the Bambouserie in Anduze, the Cévennes invite you to go hiking, and the ancient Romans also left behind a lot of culture - at the Pont du Gard you can marvel at one of their impressive works. Whether Anduze, Uzès or another charming town with a partly medieval centre - markets (sometimes at night) and many cultural events attract visitors, and the palate is well catered for at every turn. Barely an hour's drive away, you can reach the Camargue with its wonderful wild horses and swim in the Mediterranean, stroll in the evening in Aigues-Mortes, France's oldest Mediterranean port city, visit the salt pans and watch the flamingos. Whether you are a couple seeking peace and quiet, a larger family with children, adventurous, sporty or simply looking for peace and adoring the sun - the country house at the foot of the Cévennes offers a safe haven for a relaxing holiday for everyone.
