About this property
The Hideout @ Hideaway Point
Tucked into the forest yet conveniently located, Hideaway Point offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility — just 10 minutes from the mountain town of Bryson City with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and outdoor adventure.
We created Hideaway Point as a place where people can slow down, reconnect, and enjoy meaningful time together in the mountains. Whether you are gathering with family, celebrating with friends, planning a retreat, or simply getting away, we hope this property gives you space to rest, explore, and make lasting memories.
Bryson City is known for whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River, hiking in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, mountain biking, scenic train rides on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, Fontana Lake, waterfalls, fly fishing, and local breweries and restaurants.
This listing is specifically for The Hideout — one of four separate VRBO listings available at Hideaway Point. Guests can rent: • The Hideout • The Hostel • The Holiday House • Or the full Hideaway Point property, which combines all three homes for large groups, retreats, reunions, and small weddings.
The Hideout is a cozy treetop retreat overlooking the rest of Hideaway Point. The hot tub offers what many guests consider the best view on the property. We named this home after the secret hideouts of childhood — tucked into the trees, peaceful, and a little adventurous.
The Hideout is one of three homes located on the Hideaway Point property, along with The Hostel and The Holiday House. The homes are thoughtfully spaced for privacy while still sharing the peaceful atmosphere of the property.
Our onsite groundskeeper, Sarah, lives in a private apartment attached to The Holiday House. She helps care for the property year-round and is a great local resource for guests. Sarah shares the property with two friendly Labrador retrievers and a few interesting aquarium pets.
A few helpful things to note:
• Easy year-round access on a gradual gravel road • Plenty of onsite parking • A short gravel walking path leads to the front door through the trees • Kitchens are stocked with cookware and basic tools • Bathrooms include shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers
We would love to answer any questions about The Hideout or the Hideaway Point property.

The cabin was nice, we really enjoyed playing games and working puzzles; the porch/deck covered area was nice to sit and eat or talk and relax. The location was great! Some of the bedrooms did not get enough A/C (we stayed during the summer) but other than that, we very much enjoyed it!
We made a weekend out of going to the Polar Express and this was a great place to stay. The large table was perfect for family meals and playing board games. The kitchen was stocked with all kinds of pots, pans, dishes and bowls needed to make meals. We really enjoyed our stay.
We had a very nice stay. There was plenty of room for 6 people. We enjoyed the hot tub, large table to play games and hang out after a day of activities. Close enough to town, fishing and the National Park.
Close to Bryson City, Cherokee, and right down the road from the NOC. Still, the cabin and surrounding grounds feel remote and give guests the ability to unwind and relax. The Hideout has a unique layout that allows everyone staying to spend time together and still have space to themselves. Will definitely stay here again!
Perfect location not too far from the town, but not too close, so perfect on my opinion, easely fits 10 persons, beautyful, easy access, awesome views, windows facing all sides. I love it. I would like to book again this property.
Property is nestled down a little gravel road with 2 other homes. The views from the back deck are beautiful. If you need some rest and tranquility, this is the place for you.
We completely enjoyed this stay and the home was perfect for our family & time together! Communication was fantastic and the property owners were most accommodating. This is a must do!
This was an amazing weekend with friends and family! Grateful for the gorgeous views off the deck. Getting hot tub time in with friends after paddling, was awesome. The amazing open space of the interior. Overall super satisfied and want to come back!
We’re a family-owned team who believes meaningful places can create space for transformation. We created Hideaway Point as a place where people can slow down, reconnect with one another, experience the beauty of the mountains, and step away from the distractions of everyday life.
Whether you come for adventure in the Nantahala Gorge, a retreat, a wedding celebration, or a family gathering, our hope is that your time here leads to deeper connection, meaningful conversations, renewed perspective, and memories that stay with you long after you leave.
We care deeply about hospitality and creating an environment where people feel welcomed, rested, and fully present. Our onsite groundskeeper, Sarah, helps care for the property and is available to support guests if anything comes up during your stay or if you need assistance during your visit.
We aim to give guests both privacy and support—Sarah, our onsite groundskeeper, is nearby if needed while still respecting your space.
More than simply providing lodging, our vision for Hideaway Point is to create a place where people can experience rest, adventure, connection, and lasting transformation together.
