Comfortable stay for our family, good outdoor space, well-suited for our two dogs. There were a few problems with the amenities (Wifi, AC), but the hosts were very apologetic, even offering us a free night's stay as compensation. Close to several trail heads and Cook Forest attractions
Very nice cozy stay. Had a few slight “kinks” but all and all was an excellent stay! Lots of open room for our trucks and trailers. Hosts were excellent and responsive. Will stay again! My dog loved it there.
This little place was awesome! Really enjoyed the outdoor space and the fire pit. This place was perfect to stay while visiting the area. I would go there again.
Super adorable little cottage. Would definitely stay again

Getaway weekend
We love to stay at this little spot. Even if things weren't as smooth as they could have been, we thought it worked out really well for what we were there for.
Great little place. Use of space was excellent. Would have been 5 stars, hands down, if in a more secluded location. Easy access to Cooks Forest and Clear Creek State parks.
Small, quaint, and quiet which is what we were hoping for. My children had a lot of fun and my dog enjoyed himself and this was his first vacation ever. Friendly people and responded rather quickly when we initiated contact.
The cabin/tiny house was very cozy and clean. The owner Brittany was very nice and helpful. We had a great time visiting the kinzua bridge and hiking a couple of the trails in the area. We also had our two dogs there and they also agree with my opinion. We would recommend and revisit. Thank you.
I booked this place for my wife, 2 year old daughter, beagle, and myself for a weekend as we explored the cook forest area. It was perfect for us. Hot water, heat, privacy, a nice covered porch, fire pit, and comfy beds. And it's not just the physical things, but the customer service that make this place extra special. Brittany was in contact to make sure we were alright, and also left bags to clean up after our dog, a water dish, and a toy stuffed animal that my daughter took home with us. We will be back in the near future.
We went away for my boyfriend’s 50th bday. Cabin was very pretty inside-all woodwork/decor. Birthday treat with candles in fridge!!! Small issue with shower faucet on our last night there & they came & fixed it right away. Communication for address & code plenty of time for our arrival. Thanked us for staying & apologetic for inconvenience of shower issue which was minor to us!!!

Nice place to relax and reconnect, host communication lacking
Brittany was very difficult to reach throughout the entire experience. For example, we received the access code 40 minutes after check in.

Scott, When we spoke I explained there was a company emergency that rendered me unable to speak on the phone. The next best means of communication would be texting or messaging me on VRBO. The only other discrepancy was when your partner went to the cabin on the right instead of the left as directed, and we were accused us of not having the cabin cleaned and ready. Unfortunately, they were means out of our control . The standard experience provided to guests does not require a wait time of more than an hour.
It was exactly what we needed just to get away from Erie for a little while. it was clean. Plenty of hot water. Comfortable air conditioning. amazingly comfortable mattresses.
We could not hear the Sawmill inside and even outside it sounded like a neighbor doing some work three blocks away you really can't hear it. People in the area are amazingly friendly and helpful. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you just those few short days we're so relaxing that we are starting to look for property around that area too build a cabin and move to
I decided VERY last second that I was going to surprise my son with a little adventure (less than 72 hours before arrival). Upon booking I contacted the host letting them know and asking if they could get a birthday balloon and leave it in the cabin. ABOVE AND BEYOND, the cabin was decorated, they even got him a cake and candles. The absolute best host. The cabin was immaculate, the beds beyond comfortable. Pet and kid friendly. I couldnt recommend this spot more. Its not often you find such hospitality anymore. 10/10 suggest booking, bring your family, enjoy nature- its also a great location to access Cooks Forest and Allegheny National.

Run away
Where do I start showing head sprays up the wall can’t really cook there two electric burners that take 45 minutes to heat water the front door so many cracks sunlight shines in the toilet is not tight the sleeping is another thing how is two adults supposed to sleep in the bunk beds no way that place sleeps 6 the couch is falling apart the sink in the kitchen been leaking a long time and I don’t beleave the water is safe to drink we both got sick they have a a water cooler there but not in use I could go on I think that should give you a idea we left Monday evening
The day of check-in I messaged the host, Brittany, twice before check-in via vrbo asking her when to expect the door code and other information. She did not respond to either message. The check-in time, 3:00pm, rolled around and still no word from her. I tried to call the number she listed and it went to voicemail every single time. It was getting dark and we felt unsafe in the area. After hours of no communication from the host, we went home. It wasn’t until we made it home that we heard from Brittany, over six hours after the posted check-in time. It was an automated message with the check-in information and absolutely no acknowledgement or apology for sending the information so late. I tried requesting a refund from the host with no success. It has now been over a week without a response or a refund.
We didn’t actually stay at the property. Thankfully! The location was terrible, behind two dumpy looking houses off a two lane highway. The sawmill mentioned is literally right behind the shed/shack. The day we arrived there was mud and water all around the property and I cemented driveway. Upon getting to the door, the code didn’t work and there was a stream of water flowing out from under the front door (a very worn wooden door). The only way to contact the owner was via email. She responded right away and arrived to the property within 15 min. To discover a pipe in the bathroom had burst and water was running out of the “cabin”.
She offered us the next “nice” cabin next door for the night while they cleaned up the waterlogged shed, “then we could move into it” since it was what we reserved. While we appreciated the offer, there was no way we were going to stay. We declined and had yo go search for other accommodations at 5:00 pm on Thanksgiving eve. Fortunately we found an actual cabin IN Cook’s Forest that had a vacancy.
VRBO responded promptly to our distress and the owner contacted us to let us know she was processing a full refund.
The cuteness in the picture of the VRBO doesn’t really depict what the reality was that day. The location was about 10+ miles to Cook’s Forest. We thought it would be within walking distance.
The owner was gracious and tried to be helpful. We won’t consider that property in the future.
The property is blissfully quiet, clean, and maintained very well. The host has provided everything you would possibly need, besides of course personal items. Kitchenware was great, and I'm considering ordering that set of pans for myself. Bring groceries, spices, and things like that, everything else is there. The entire cabin was clean and well organized. The bathroom had a great shower, with a tankless water heater. Water pressure was great. Towels were clean and comfy. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were soft and also comfortable. Overall, great place to be in between venturing out on trails. Absolutely would stay again.

About the host
Hosted by Brittany Gibbs
This will be a Forest Mill Cabins third season in service. The co-owner and founder is named Johnny, and I am Brittany, co-owner and property manage. We met in the cabins first season, and I was fortunate enough to be able to help shape and mold everything we offer our guests. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding customer service, quick response times, and of course customer satisfaction. We are currently expanding to a second development, and our first raw land commercial development.
Johnny was raised in this area and has a insiders understanding of not only how to provide the best experience for the guests, he is also very resourceful if guests are looking for something in particular. He is a loving father (Pic above), dedicated businessman, and a truly talented visionary.
I came to this area a year and a half ago on a nursing contract, and rented one of his units. It wasn’t long before I was presented with the opportunity to be part of this special company. Since then it has been an amazing adventure, and we take pride in what we have created. Naturally the most rewarding part has been being able to participate in providing the space for an unforgettable experience to each guest.
Why they chose this property
Amazing location conveniently located off Rt 66. Easy access to town and minutes away from a plethora of activities from wine tastings, to hunting and fishing, or simply relaxing in the river after a hike in the woods. Recently renovated and jam-packed with amenities; we can’t wait to share our space with you.
Disclaimer: Local Sawmill is within audible distance of property, causing the potential for noise pollution Monday through Friday. A price reduction on these days reflects that potential.
What makes this property unique
We are available anytime a guest need us. This is our first listing on VRBO, but we are well-established on another platform. I bring attention to that only because we have a 100% response rate and have been titled super hosts! Being able to provide you with an amazing experience is at the core of our passion.
We are located between the Allegheny national forest and the infamous cooks forest. There are several trails of varying degrees of difficulty and composure. We are very well known for hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling as well. If that is not your cup of tea, we are only a few minutes from the Allegheny National River. Pick a Cove and jump in or along the river front, there is a canoe/raft rental company that also provides transportation!
While in town most any essential need is available and the small close knit community will make you feel like family. Marienville is truly a hidden gem!
