Wonderful stay

Very nice condo in a nice complex near great snorkel beach and fun wave beach. Would absolutely stay her again. Owners were very helpful. A/C was a must for our family, would recommend adding this to your rental if you are considering which way to go. Overall great experience!

awesome 2 bedroom condo in Kona!

this was a great home base for us (2 adults, 2 kids) everyone got their own bed (the beds were super comfortable) room to spread out and we ate on the porch most evenings which was real pleasant. also it was nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit. this helped us a lot on vacation. would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a kona condo.

Perfect get away

We loved this cute little beach style condo. The location was perfect for our stay on the Kona side. KTA store and little shopping center just up the hill for a quick grab of whatever you need . The condo had everything to accommodate cooking and super cozy beds . We loved the back patio and the location of the condo was perfect for a quick walk to watch the sunset . Bill and Shirley told us about the little beach located a little further down on the property were we could do some whale watching and catch a beautiful sunset . They were very sweet and helpful. I hope to be able to rent from them again next year. This rental will not disappoint.

Reviewer Comments: We loved this property for a variety of reasons... layout and decor of the condo was comfortable and felt very Hawaiian, beds were really comfortable!, lanai areas were spacious and relaxing, walk to (rocky) beach to catch a sunset was a 2 minute walk, lots of restaurants nearby (our favorite was Magic Sands) and proximity to the Ironman festivities and downtown Kona was perfect. Everything we needed was in condo and property management team clearly communicated everything and was very responsive to any questions we had. We would definitely recommend and stay here again!

A great "home away from home"

This is our family's first time in Kona. Bill and Shirley were very accommodating from the start. They provided recommendations to everything you can think of: restaurants, beaches, tours, etc. Their condo is very nice, kitchen is well stocked including small appliances (rice cooker, yay!) and their lanai is VERY relaxing. Loved the hammock! They also provided all amenities needed to go to the beach: snorkel gear, umbrellas, chairs, boogie board! Our kids really enjoyed the condo, the pool and short walks to see the ocean. We enjoyed all of the adventures we had on the Big Island. Bill and Shirley's condo definitely felt our home away from home! We'll be back!!

Great Vacation with Family of 4

Unit was spacious, clean, updated, and had all the amenities we needed, but no soap and shampoo but was not a big deal. We had other friends staying in the same complex who gave us some. We compared their place to ours and theirs had the early '80s look. We were out most of the time so only used the pool once, but the kids enjoyed it. it was also nice that there were some snorkeling gear and water shoes available. It's also very quiet so you hear all the critters at night. We were also impressed to find a starfruit tree back of the patio, and the fruit were ripe for eating. We picked a few (hope that was ok) and the starfruit was so tasty. The location was great as we did most of our day trips near by. It was also great having communication with the owners before/ during and after our trip. It gave me a sense of security that they cared for their place and made sure we were comfortable. As other bookings we've made you never hear from the owners which sometimes leaves me a little worried of a booking. We were also lucky with the weather as the forecast kept saying rain, but was usually sunny or a bit overcast, with the rain usually more inland. Only issue with this trip is we needed a few more days to really experience everything. We'll have to come back!

Feels like a resort - but homey

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at Bill & Shirley's beautiful Kona condo. It was a fabulous home. The owners have thought of every detail. Everything is labelled and easy to find (light switches, tv remotes, utensils). They provided use of boogie boards, snorkeling fins and gear, chairs, mats for the beach. We felt like it was designed for our convenience and that the owner's really wanted us to have a good time. The house was exceptionally clean - like not a speck of dust or grime or anything. It smelled fresh. It felt like a resort. We stayed her in late Feb. and did pay for the extra AC. I'm not sure it was really needed and we used it very little - just in the afternoons when we were there. The house would cool off with the doors open in the evenings and mornings. If it is humid when you are travelling, then I would recommend getting the extra AC. Parking is right out in front of your door, trash is nearby. We really felt like this was a perfect place with everything you could wish for. It felt luxurious, comfortable and like a resort. We can't wait to go back again and spend more time here and in Kona. This is perfect location to explore the west side of the island - not in the hustle of Kona, just outside of it, so it is quieter. The beach at Kahuluu was beyond perfect. It was the best beach for snorkeling and surfing and we did both. The grocery store is a 5 minute drive away. Look no further, this is the perfect place to stay.

Excellent accommodation option on the Big Island

I want this review to be written in a way that will help others make an informed decision about whether to rent this condo or not, so I have broken it into two sections - pros and cons - based on what I was looking for when I rented it. Pros: Very clean. Layout of the condo is roomy and efficient with a large, well-stocked kitchen, a great room that has a dining table and the living room with a couch (hide-a-bed) and two comfortable chairs. The large master bedroom is off to the side of the great room and does not have a door but rather sliding screens for privacy. The lanai is excellent with comfortable furniture. There is a washer and dryer in one bathroom that works well. There are two bathrooms. There is a back bedroom with two queen beds. The beds are very comfortable. There are plenty of places to store clothing and other items in the condo. We did unpack as we were there for 5 nights. This condo is very well supplied in the kitchen, bed linens, towels, and beach gear. The beach gear consists of water shoes, boogie boards, snorkel gear, foam noodles, umbrellas, beach chairs, coolers, etc. It was so nice not to have to bring any of those items with us or purchase them while on the island. We paid the extra fee to have the air conditioner. There is a grocery store, movie theater, and some shops within walking distance up a fairly big hill. Cons: The biggest issue for us was the air conditioner. I didn't even look at places to rent that did not have an air conditioner and we were assured this one was the best. Be warned, the back bedroom with the two beds does NOT get the cool air from the air conditioner as the unit is located at the exact opposite end of the condo. We tried everything. There are fans available and we had every one of them going but it was not enough. There were no cleaning supplies. Part of the agreement requires the condo is fairly clean so there is not extra hours added to the cleaning staff. We purchased cleaning supplies to ensure we were able to meet this requirement. There is no fitness center but there are walking paths that can be used. The closest swimming beach is further away that advertised. Having said all that, I would definitely stay here again but only if I my plans were to stay in the master bedroom or the living room with the pull out couch. I would like to thank Bill and Shirley for allowing us to rent this condo. They are amazing hosts.

The place has everything you need for a lovely stay in Kona - beach items, a fully usable kitchen, grills outside, and recreational items. There’s even a patio area where you can take in all the beauty of the area and relax or even eat. The downside is that we eventually had to say goodbye to the place. The check in process was easy and the owner was so responsive with our inquiries. You won’t be disappointed with your stay here. Thank you so much for providing a home away from home!

Lovely unit

The condo was very nice. A great location for visiting family up the hill, close to a very friendly grocery store. A full time resident has cleared a rock-free entrance underwater at the south side of the beach on the north side of the properties. Good swimming if you go in there. We did have very loud upstairs neighbors who had rented from another agency we- tried to resolve it with the onsite manager but failed. Our agency brought me a big box fan which muffled the noise at night. They did the right thing given the circumstances.I would suggest more cleaning supplies for these one week stays. I would have mopped and cleaned bathrooms more.I would rent here again from this local agency.

Fantastic Stay!

Plenty of space for my family of 4 - two kids, two adults. Stayed three nights. Mini split air conditioning and double beds in the second bedroom were a definite plus. Condo cleanliness was immaculate. Really enjoyed the views and amenities of the property. Grills were easy to use, checkin and checkout process were easy as well. Would stay here again!

Lovely ground floor condo

Quiet, ground floor location, beautiful garden setting for morning coffee. Well equipped kitchen for those that enjoy cooking. Nice pool and barbecue area. Easy access to waterfront…will return!
