Three generations of our family met up here for a week and everyone really enjoyed the trip. We spent much of the time down by, in, or on the water. The canoes were great, and we got a chance to see a lot of the lake. The well-appointed kitchen and grill made food prep a snap and we enjoyed evenings as a family in the great room.
Beautiful property on the water. Lots of water sports and large home to enjoy. The log home was fully loaded with everything you need. Will definitely be back. Thank you Armand for your hospitality.
The location was great, only neighbors on the right side. Cottage location is on a mouth of a river great for kayaking, opens up to larger lake. Swimming was nice. Cottage has lots of space, cupboards are stacked. We saw a baby bear walk by, that was a highlight. Armond was in contact all the time, that was great. Maybe too many cameras, there were alot. Thank you so much for our stay, it was very nice for our family.
We have a cabin in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, but wanted our kids to experience the cottage country of Muskoka. This rental had it all: fully stocked log cabin (and we mean 'FULLY STOCKED'), dock on the lake (with an awesome floating lilypad for the kids), canoes/kayaks and bountiful fishing, and lot of acreage to explore. It also had cool rock outcroppings, dense forest, steep hills, and a long access dirt driveway. Our 3 and 5 yr-olds spent every waking moment for a week adventuring throughout the property (which not every city-slicker kid would enjoy, however). Armand initially had some concern with the young age of our kids in this remote property, but we are attentive parents and didn't have any issues with this massive playground. A 10-minute canoe ride just around the point yielded an amazing small rock island that was perfect for swimming and a picnic. The fire pit just below the house was perfect for roasting marshmallows and drinks. On the last day Armand came out early before checkout and took our family out for a much appreciated motorized boat tour of the lake. Honestly, we're not sure if we love our Colorado cabin or this property more.
Armand was an exceptional host. The house has everything you could imagine needing.
We spent out days relaxing on the dock, in the water or on the numerous decks. We also did lots of kayaking and even found a few beaver dams.
At night we enjoyed games, playing pool and the beautiful views. We also went on a few walks and saw some great wildlife including a couple of deer.
Thank you for a great week away, we truly enjoyed ourselves.
Great remote, lakeside house in nice quiet surroundings. Great for fishing and kayaking or canoeing with the family (all equipment provided). House is well equipped with games room and large terrace. Good for long weekend with family of 4-5. It can be hot in the summer without a/c but with good window ventilation you can cool the house during the night. Armand was very responsive and supportive with our last minute booking.
We had a great 3 night stay at this cottage. The living space is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had everything that was needed (some sharper knives would be appreciated) including a dishwasher and microwave. There were large windows overlooking the lake as well as a very spacious deck which had much appreciated shade in the afternoon. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable - especially the very large master bedroom. The parking area and drive way were great for walking my dog and playing Bocci. The steps down to the lake were easy to navigate and had sturdy hand rails. We had a great time canoeing along the river next to the cottage. Because the cottage is at the mouth of the river speed boats do not go roaring by which makes for a quiet, relaxing time down at the dock. As we were not planning on swimming, the weedy nature of the lake did not bother us at all. Although we did not use it, there is a nice firepit area with Muskoka chairs available. The games room with a pool table and ping pong table were a lot of fun! Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable cottages we have rented.
