NOLA and Essence Fest getaway
The rental was very cozy and welcoming, conveniently located nearby popular today attractions but also allows one to live amongst the locals and really submerge themselves in the New Orleans culture filled with southern hospitality and great food. I would definitely book this rental again.

We loved the neighborhood it was great. Met new friends.
They had half the roof done starting at 8:00 am. Got told the night before. When we got to the house there was nothing there like salt pepper, sugar ,tea coffee. We had to find a store to buy the stuff we need. When we were leaving we had to take the sheets off the beds garbage out I have never had to do this before and pay to have it cleaned.

New Orleans
This place is in a great location. The neighborhood looks a little rough (half done construction on the roads, etc) but the people are very friendly. It is about 1.5 miles from the heart of the French Quarter. Close enough to walk yet far enough away to avoid the crowds. We did not use the bikes but they were air up and ready to go.

Communication deficits ruin everything
For the most part, our stay was totally fine (emphasis on fine). The beds were comfortable, and for the most part, the property was as described. However, there were a number of annoyances that advanced to real issues throughout our stay. Annoyances included no response to my check in inquiries, hours after my first request and an hour after the advertised check in time, no hair dryer, despite it being included in amenities, what appeared to be regular hand soap refilled in a foaming hand soap dispenser (resulting in no soap coming out; ever), no dish towels, drying rack, dishwasher, or sponge, 0 additional blankets, heat not working in any room except one (again, despite heat being an amenity featured). However, all of that I could have gotten over, except for the fact that the owner locked us out of the unit for almost 2 hours, after midnight. The smart lock wasn't set correctly, and we were unable to get into the unit when we returned from a day out at 11 pm. We called the owner who did not answer for >20 phone calls, lasting over an hour. We called the VRBO support team, who also were unable to find a solution, even offering to pay for us to stay at a hotel. After 2 hours in the middle of the night, we FINALLY got ahold of the owner, who was able to use the smart lock to get us into the unit. However, she never apologized for setting it incorrectly in the first place.

New Orleans is an awesome city! I love the food, the culture, the music, the weather, ALL OF IT! I am so excited to have you visit this lovely city and to truly share with you the NOLA experience!

Why they chose this property

Whether it's shopping in Metairie, 2nd line on Bourbon Street, or taking a walk in City Park, this neighborhood is close to it all! The house is conveniently located in walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping. When I saw this property, I immediately fell in love. Mid City is a super cute neighborhood that is literally 10 minutes from everywhere you want to go.

What makes this property unique

I often travel with children or for work, so I wanted to make sure that this property is comfortable and convenient. We have a grill and a large pot for your own crawfish boil or BBQ, a large yard to relax or walk to some of the best restaurants in New Orleans, with shorter lines.
