About this property
Nestled in the National Forest, just minutes from downtown
For MUCH lower pricing, far better customer experience and support, and to avoid technical problems common with Vrbo, we VERY STRONGLY recommend making your reservation on the other leading short-term rental system, air b and b instead of Vrbo.
The Montana experience. Nestled in the Helena National Forest, but just minutes from downtown. Watch deer, elk and an occasional moose wander through the open yard as you sip your morning coffee, listening to the crackle of the wood burning stove. Or relax in the hot tub gazing at the dark starry skies between the aspens and pines. Spread out in the spacious kitchen or chill outside around the firepit with the smell of the Trager smoker grill going in the background.
If you need to pop into town, you can be in the center of Helen within 10 minutes.
Prickly Pear hiking trail system within walking distance from the house. Mountain biking trails just a short ride away. Public land within minutes for great hiking, camping, hunting and fishing.
In the summer, its about 5-10 degrees cooler than the sweltering valley and has plenty of shade. In the winter, the forests and mountains are frosted with snow - but the roads are plowed regularly.
The house sleeps 9 in beds, 1 on downstairs sofa. The sofa is not a sofa bed. One of the beds is a twin trundle bed that is not made up in advance because it will not fit under the bed when made up.
Indoor dining space for up to 8 at the dining table and 2 at the kitchen counter. Outdoor dining space for up to 8 at a time June through October.
There is room on the driveway for 3 compact cars parked front-to-back on the far right side of the driveway only. Please do not park in front of the detached garage. The driveway in front of the detached garage is reserved for full-time residents of the detached guest house above the garage.
Your stay will include exclusive access to the whole house, patio and hot tub. Yard is a shared space. Hot tub is available June through October.
Note that the neighboring detached garage and guesthouse are rented by long-term tenants. Other than parking on the driveway on the side nearest the house, please keep your distance from the garage/guesthouse out of respect for their peace and quiet. Note also that these tenants are not hosts and cannot help you during your stay. If you need anything please contact your host directly.
Along with the magic of being located in a small, canyon village in the wilderness, there are also some other things that come along with the charm. Such as inconsistent mobile phone reception, internet service could be affected by storms, downed trees, etc. And of course the wilderness includes animals big and small. Keep your distance from wildlife if it visits. Keep trash indoors and doors and windows without screens closed.
