I was drawn to Wilmington Island for its sweeping Spanish moss, quiet oak and pine canopies, and the peaceful chorus of cicadas, frogs, and owls at night. It offers a true sense of retreat, yet is only 15 minutes from Savannah’s world-class dining and the beaches of Tybee, perfect balance of tranquility and convenience.
What makes this property unique
What I love about Wilmington Island Retreat is that you can wake up to the sound of roosters in the morning and drift off to the chorus of cicadas at night. Beneath giant oak trees draped in Spanish moss, the retreat captures the rustic charm of the South, peaceful, natural, and full of character. And while it feels like a world away, you’re only minutes from Savannah’s rich history, vibrant nightlife, excellent food and the soothing sounds of the ocean waves on Tybee Island.
