About this property

READ DESCRIPTION-TWO ROOM SUITE ONLY-1890s Victorian-Tillamook-Goodspeed House

The Goodspeed House is a two room private guest suite with its own private entrance. Built in 1890 by Eli Goodspeed, a prominent dairy farmer, this stunning Queen Anne is close to downtown Tillamook. The location makes for an easy drive to local attractions like the Tillamook creamery and is a perfect jumping off point to visit Oceanside, Garibaldi and Rockaway Beach! You can book a steam engine train ride from Garibaldi to Rockaway Beach. Go rock-hounding for agates and jasper in Oceanside or visit the local historical museums.

This is a private two bedroom suite within our personal mixed use home on the upper level. The bedrooms are located on the upper level of the original structure in the historic part of the building. You will have the whole suite space to yourself. This includes the entryway, stairs, two bed rooms and the Jack and Jill bathroom. You will not have access to the rest of the house. The rooms pictured are what you will be renting.

There are two memory foam queen beds to relax in after a day of adventure. A Jack and Jill bathroom has been remodeled with modern amenities like a relaxing rain shower and luxurious finishes. There is a coffee and snack station at the top of the stairs that includes a microwave, mini fridge and Keurig. We provide lite prepackaged snacks, water, sparkling water, coffee and tea, at no additional charge. Two parking spaces are available at the front of the house. If you are traveling with a boat, please let us know before booking.

You will access the space through the private front entrance. Stairs are required to get to the rooms.

Extra unauthorized guests will incur a $100 charge. If you have additional guests coming please let us know ahead of time! If your guest shows up without us knowing you will be charged.

Please understand that this space is not suitable for young children, toddlers or pets. Respectful children and teens are allowed. This is a historic home (over 130 years old) with one of kind antiques and architecture. As much as we would love to host your children and pets we want to be able to keep the integrity of the house for future guests and generations. The stairs are steep and are not suited for little legs or people with mobility issues. There are spaces that are off limits with low railing or no railing.

We do have security cameras on site including a ring doorbell on the front door and back garage door. As well as a camera above the garage looking at the driveway. We mute alerts while we have guests, but it may still record clips when it catches motion. We may review clips if necessary or asked to by our guests. The motion light above the front door is not a camera and is there in case we have a power outage as it's battery operated.

We use Tide detergent that has fragrance when washing our linens. If you have allergies to fragrance please let us know before booking. Our sheets are microfiber, if you have allergies to synthetic materials please let us know and we can provide you with cotton sheets.

Please note:
We do have four dogs and a cat, they are extremely friendly but you may hear occasional barking. The house is on highway 6 close to downtown and there is street noise from the traffic. We do provide ear plugs and have white noise sound machines in each room. If you need complete silence to sleep, we probably won't be the best accommodations for you. Tillamook is known for cheese and dairy farming, on occasion you may smell the local cows while outside. We are a licensed business with the city of Tillamook.

Hidden Gem!
This is our second time staying at Natalie's home and it was just as lovely and pleasant as the first time. She has decorated the space to match the time period of the home, a beautiful chandelier in every room! It was perfect for our family of four, plenty of room and well stocked. Her attention to detail on needs of her guests is top notch! We'll see you next year Natalie!

…like stepping back in time.
Amazing details, historical decor is incredibly lovely, cozy environment ambiance, with quick access to downtown Tillamook. We were able to walk to two vintage stores in the area as well. One of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed. Hostess is so friendly and extremely hospitable. Great communication. We can’t wait to visit Goodspeed House again. Thank you so much!

European Vibes
When we arrived to the location, we were not sure about the fact that there were a family that lived below-noise, etc. but we heard nothing from them at all. The home is gorgeous, and reminded us of growing up in Europe. It was immaculate and attention to the little things-snacks, extra towels, etc. made it worth our stay. The town is adorable and friendly and walkable. Definitely will be back!

My husband Peter and I love to travel. We have traveled and stayed with many hosts in the states and abroad. We decided to start sharing and hosting stays at our historic home and beach house. We live with four friendly dogs and a curious kitty! When we are not at home we enjoy trying new food, hiking local trails and of course going to the beach!

Why they chose this property

The Goodspeed House was a dream home for us. I am an avid collector and reseller of vintage and antique items. We love the history of this home that is still standing after 130 years! There are beautiful details throughout the house!

What makes this property unique

In the evening while on the second floor you can look out the windows and see the city skyline watching beautiful sunsets. Imaging what life would have looked like out here during the late Victorian era. The street used to have white picket fences in front of the grand homes and a boardwalk connecting to downtown!
