Venture out along Kam Highway to visit a host of North Shore highlights. Head east to Kahuku Town (4 miles) or the Polynesian Cultural Center (7 miles). Drive west to explore Waimea Bay, Haleiwa Town, and a host of beaches including Sharks Cove, Three Tables, Sunset, Chuns, Alligators, and VLand -- all within a 20-minute drive. From October to April, be sure to witness the world-famous Banzai Pipeline surf break, located at ’Ehukai Beach Park (5 miles).
Drive 21 miles west to hike Kealia Trail. Trek to the top and earn sprawling views of the entire North Shore.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). Small Unit on the North Shore Not for a Family of 4!
Pros:Unit is at the entrance to the gated community - ground level. Parking spot is directly in front of unit. Community has pool, basketball court (no ball), tennis and pickleball courts with pickleball equipment. Kitchen was well equipped. They provided paper towel roll, toilet paper, 1 garbage bag, dish soap and sponge, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, beach chairs, pool noodles 2 stand up fans and a queen size air mattress (thankfully).Cons:Roaches. Several of them. No true bed for our 14 & 16 year olds! This unit is for 2 adults & maybe 2 small children. There is one queen size bed in the main bedroom. That bedroom has an AC unit & a ceiling fan. The living room has a big couch, but it is not a pullout couch. What they have as the two additional bands are these random futon looking chairs. They do not even convert to a standard twin bed. They are hard as a rock. My boys had to sleep on the queen size air mattress, and the couch. There is an AC unit in the living room that made it nice and cold though.The unit itself is small. We felt cramped. The bathroom is tiny. And the washer and dryer are located right outside of the master bedroom. You can hear everything from inside the master bedroom.When we arrived after a 16 hour travel day, we did not have the correct gate code to enter the community. This was very frustrating because they kept telling us that it was emailed to us when it was in fact, not emailed to us. It took an hour to resolve.

You'd think they're read the reviews and fix the access issue
Nice property. I totally had the "don't have a gate code or a door code" issue that people had mentioned in the past. They did share an "E-Lock Code" that is a different length compared to the gate code or the door code and seemed to have nothing to do with either. Not really fun when you're ready to put the bags somewhere and relax.
Also, the Vacasa web app has room for improvement. I'm used to having an invoice emailed at the end of the stay, but if that's not a default, it should be simple to download one from the web app. Clicking on my past trip forces me to leave a review. Hopefully that invoice is just a click away at this point...

The condo itself is nice, it isn't actually in the turtle Bay resort. I was never sent the gate code for the property and the door code was not correct. Very stressful. Not what you want on a vacation. The beach items were broken, in poor condition, or missing pieces. However the kitchen was well stocked and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the AC.

Not the Best Experience
I did not receive a code to get into the gate for the community prior to arrival. Another guest helped us get in, but I was immediately met by security when I parked and had to spend about 15 minutes getting everything straightened out with him. I had to reach out three separate times to the rental management company to finally get a gate code that worked. The door lock instructions I received were incorrect. I was given a 10-digit code for a lock that only used 4 digits. Luckily I was able to get that code much easier than the gate code. The second day of our stay I received a notice from the property that my car was in violation for not having a parking pass displayed, and towing was threatened. Nowhere in the check-in instructions did it mention a parking pass, and there was not a pass available in the unit. Somebody eventually brought us a pass on our last day. I will say the representatives I spoke with were very communicative, but it was an awful lot of headache for a 3-night stay. The condo itself was fine, and the adjacent resort is beautiful, but all the hassle really put a damper on my trip. I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Overall place is great for location. But the check in was awful. Dryer didn’t work so that was a problem when washing clothes. I was t able to lock the door the whole time. Last day we found cockroaches.

Turtle bay condo
The property and condo are both nice . I have stayed at turtle bay multiple times . For the price this unit is a bargain. If you are in a ground level unit and you have noisy people above you , you can hear everything as the units obviously have no insulation. This unit does not have a porch , so no place to hang up wet gear at the end of a day at the beach. My main complaint with my initial arrival was with Vrbo. They did not get me the correct gate code for almost 2 hours after my initial check in , despite being only 30 minuets early and being on the phone for 15 minuets while sitting at the gate trying the incorrect codes the guy was giving me over the phone. Same w the front door. Vrbo NEVER put me in contact with anyone on site , it was either txt or email, I had to ask for the combination to get through the pool gate as well . 3 simple combinations would have made my arrival much better .if I owned this property I would find a company who wold make sure renters had a smooth and simple check in, not a stressful one.

The stay was great! There was lack of communication/instructions to get on the gate. After getting past that, everything went smoothly! The management was great and the condo was clean.

This is not a complaint about the property but rather the ridiculous amount of add on fees from VRBO. Even owners I talked to agree, it’s gotten out of hand. It drives a budget priced stay up way too high.
Basically enjoyed our stay... we come to Turtle Bay every year for a family reunion. This is the first time we haven't been satisfied with the unit. Many lightbulbs were burned out. The sliding screen door kept falling off. Bottom of kitchen trash can badly mildewed. Bedspread old and frayed. Beach chairs really rusted.
Property managers responded promptly to lightbulb situation.... we didn't say anything about the rest. Also, no info on pool code or what we should do on checkout.

Well maintained
Well maintained unit close to beaches, shopping, and golf. Door code was rather long and took a while to memorize it. Only “problem” was the hot and cold water inlets to the washer and so cold was hot and hot is cold. Would definitely come back.

Provided everything we needed and was clean and comfortable.
We love the north shore and this is a great location to access the area. Turtle Bay beaches are beautiful and walking distance. The pools for the condos are ok (small and no hot tub) and Turtle Bay will not allow you to use their pool. You can however utilize the resort restaurants.
Our one complaint was that the front door is so heavily spring-loaded that it is a legit safety hazard for little kids.
