Year Round Fun - Dog Friendly!

Welcome to Southpoint Retreat! We named this home after the southern tip of the compass rose, a navigational tool that has served sailors, fisherman, travelers, and adventurers for many years. At Southpoint Retreat in Florence, time slows down and the peaceful and relaxing environment helps you to navigate wherever you are headed.

Within a quick five-minute drive, you can be at the beach, the dunes, several freshwater fishing lakes, two golf courses, the Three Rivers Casino, horseback riding, hiking, and some of the very best food on the Oregon Coast. Just a few more minutes in the car and you will find yourself at the Sea Lion Caves and one of the most photographed and iconic lighthouses in America - Heceta Head.

Our home offers spacious accommodations for your whole family with two primary bedrooms with en suite spa-like bathrooms and cozy, plush bedding and linens. Plus, a large twin bunkbed in a third bedroom, with room for an additional playpen or cot and a cozy family room with a brand new extra comfortable sleeper sofa.

The home is large and comfortable, with two separate gathering areas and a dining room that can easily accommodate nine diners. We have lots of games to keep everyone entertained. The kitchen has every tool and appliance that you might need, including an air fryer, an Instapot, and a indoor grill. We offer onsite laundry as well.

Outside, we have an absolutely huge yard with two outdoor areas, each with their own firepit and mood lighting. And, since it is the Oregon coast, one of those is covered and includes a dartboard and drinks refrigerator. We also love dogs and are happy to host your four-legged friends (limit 2). We have a nice dog exercise area that includes an outdoor dog washing station to rinse off some of that sand before you all settle in to watch your favorite TV show on one of our three televisions or roast marshmallows on one of the two outdoor fire pits (or the indoor woodstove, if the weather turns). The home also offers two large off street parking areas that can accommodate your toy trailer or fishing boat.

Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
If you brought your dog with you, please make sure to pick up any waste and put in exterior garbage bin.
Please make sure heat settings in each room are off.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
If guests are found to have smoked or vaped inside the home guest agrees that a $500 deep clean fee shall be charged to the credit card on file.
Modem and/or router must not be turned off or unplugged at any point during stay. If a guest does so they shall incur a $250 charge &canceled stay
No other animals are allowed in the home besides up to 2 dogs. We love all animals but ONLY allow dogs in the home.

Your hosts, Garett & Claire, have always held the Oregon Coast in reverence. As kids we would come to the central coast with our families and enjoy playing in the sand and body surfing the cold waters of the Pacific NW. As adults, we have always wanted to live a more relaxed life at the beach but work always made that impossible - until 2020 when everything changed for us. We decided that life was just too short to live under someone else's rules. We wanted to enjoy the slower pace and the fresher air that comes when you move to the beautiful Oregon Coast.

Why they chose this property

We looked at how close this home was to literally everything that you can do in and around the Florence area and because it is only 5 minutes (or less) from most of the attractions, we thought it would be the perfect place to start our very first vacation rental. The proximity to riding the vast sand dunes, golfing, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, having a night at the casino, fine dining in Old Town and so much more made our decision easy.

What makes this property unique

One day in early 2022 we needed a break and took the day off to drive the coast south to Florence. Because we own a real estate company, we are always looking at homes but mainly for other clients. This home spoke to us and we put an offer in right away. Much to our surprise, we a deal in about 3 hours! The next few days, weeks and months were kinda crazy but we put so much of our heart into making this a place where families could gather, let the kids run around and the dogs had a place too. This is our first attempt at a vacation rental and we think we did a pretty good job...but ultimately, it is up to you, our guests, to thoroughly your stay, partake in all the fun that Florence offers and leave happy (maybe even exhausted from all the fun) and then return when the time is right for you!
