30 mins. from Traverse City! Quaint retreat. Perfect for two, centrally located.

Relax in a quaint, clean, and cozy place w/private entrance! My place is 45 minutes from popular peninsulas and attractions, 20 minutes from Cadillac, and 30 minutes from Traverse City! We live upstairs and this is a small downstairs unit for yourselves. Our backyard has woods, and a small pond. It is peaceful. Across the street is beautiful all-sport Fife Lake. (There are houses in the area). In the winter, there are numerous snowmobile trails. Free parking for snowmobiles, 4 x4, a trailer or boat is available! So much to do in the summer with all the wineries, sightseeing and shopping in Traverse City! The beautiful and popular North Country Trail is only a mile away from the house. In the winter, you can park your snowmobile at the Upper Bar, and relax inside by their fireplace with a drink and/or warm meal. Your space here is a large bedroom with a small living area and sofa, full bathroom with tub/shower combination, and a small kitchenette/laundry area (no sink in the kitchenette). In the kitchenette, there is a microwave, small toaster/broiler oven, and a small fridge and freezer. Coffee pot and coffee provided w/cream and sugar cannisters. Relax at the dining table while looking out at the birds or sit at the pond in the morning with your coffee! Enjoy walks along Fife Lake, too! The village provides three restaurants and an ice cream place. Closet storage, wifi, TV, w/Netflix, Amazon, Roku, Fire TV Stick. Iron and ironing board, closet space, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner & use of W/D. Two kayaks and two-person Paddle Boat available. Guests must transport to boat launch nearby.

Best host ever! Peaceful & serene location

Tonya was the best host we have ever had! She really puts her heart into making sure her guests feel welcomed and comfortable. There were several personal touches, including fresh flowers, mints & chocolates, snacks, and cold drinks in the fridge. She thought of everything and then some! The property is so serene and peaceful, from the moment you get out of your car. It is a small town getaway that felt like home away from home. Tonya really went above and beyond!

Beautiful retreat

Relaxing place to stay. Host checked in to make sure we had what was needed and responded quickly to questions. The property is beautiful and quaint. There were wild trilliums in bloom outside the bathroom window. Fresh flowers in vase on arrival, and there were goodies in fridge and on table. Location was great for daytime adventures and we even got to see the northern lights walking around Fife lake one evening.

Perfect studio

This is a perfect space for 2! Tonya was great communicating with me, even asked what beverage we’d enjoy upon arrival! We only stayed one night as we were passing through and wish we would have had more time to enjoy the kayaks and explore around Fife Lake. It’s very clean! There’s a comfy bed, large lush white towels in abundance, a little kitchenette and washer/dryer. It’s even smelled great! Outside is so pretty and included a little lighted pond area with chairs. We’d stay here again for sure should we return to that part of Michigan!

Wonderful!

Tonya's property is very clean, welcoming, and comfortable in a quiet neighborhood across from Fife Lake. The pictures don't do it justice. Tonya goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome, providing complimentary snacks, beverages, chocolates on your pillow. The queen bed is very comfortable, as is the sofa. We used the dryer in the unit to de-wrinkle clothes, which was a big plus. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Highly recommended!

Second time at this property. We returned because the host is kind, thoughtful, and has great attention to detail! Bed is so comfortable and cozy, everything is clean, and wine was left for us both times! Tonya has made our stay so wonderful both times! We're glad to have found this place as halfway for a ski trip! :)

My phone wasn’t working well, which resulted in some challenges on my day of arrival. Tonya was very welcoming and hospitable, offering food, drinks and her time hanging out on the upstairs deck. It was a lovely evening. This place was comfortable and clean, and great place to rest in between long days of hiking. I appreciated the simple check-out procedure since I left at 6 am in the morning in the dark, and I had a full day of activities planned.

A relaxing getaway!

The photos on the website do not do this stay justice! Was such a cute and cozy apartment and felt like home. We enjoyed takeout from a local restaurant and enjoyed a walk around the beautiful lake. We were offered to kayak and paddle board, but didn’t have the time unfortunately. The bed was super comfortable! Our host had wine, snacks and coffee available for us. She was super helpful and responsive. Already talking about another trip to stay a few days at this cozy retreat! Thanks for the perfect stay!

This is a picture of me on my kayak on Fife Lake. : ) You can have use of the kayaks, (with a signed waiver), and must be able to transport the kayaks either in the back of the trunk of your car or truck bed. My place is my idea of "heaven on earth". I hope you enjoy your stay and can get away from it all.

Why they chose this property

We are very close to many popular attractions! But for a getaway, this is the place! In the summer, there are many activities and the bustle of Traverse City! Here you can relax in the backyard by the pond and take a walk in the woods. There is free parking for snowmobiles, 4 x4, a trailer for pulling your 4 x 4 and/or boat is available! So much to do in the summer with all the wineries, sightseeing and shopping in Traverse City! The beautiful and popular North Country Trail is only a mile away from the house. In the winter, you can park your snowmobile at the Upper Bar, and relax inside by their fireplace with a drink and/or warm meal or go for a snowy hike in the woods!
