Finding a place for seven people, five of them under 12 years old, is a challenge when traveling. But our stay at Ord Street Inn was just what we needed. There were plenty of places to sleep with blankets and pillows provided for our large group. There were even activities for the children the next morning like swings, tetherball, and a play set before we continued out journey. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. The hosts were so gracious and we had a wonderful stay.

Built around 1885 this charming home ,previous of a very large family, provides charm, safety, tranquility with modern amenities.
You can see and read about the history throughout.
Exactly as advertised! Spacious and well provisioned. Conveniently located near Maryland's New Germany State Park where I XC ski. I will stay here again whenever I go skiing there!!
We had a great overnight stay. The house is conveniently located about 8mi from New Germany State Park where there is excellent XC Skiing. We really appreciated how nice the home was, especially accepting dogs. The tap water is very tasty and clean. There was a bit of an odor to the main bedroom carpet (which is bound to happen allowing dogs). I found the back bedroom to be odor free which allowed me to minimize a runny nose and cough that kept me from sleeping in the main room. Overall our whole family was very happy with the house and would return in the future!
We travel a lot and this location is equidistant to two destinations. We needed a relaxing place to stay for the weekend. This was perfect and clean and safe. We will use this location again. Loved it!
Nice quite location with outstanding outdoor area. We had teens with us and really enjoyed the outdoor amenities. The grape arbor was so charming and full of grapes. We couldn't find any sheets for the couch but made due with what they had. It looked like the extra blankets needed laundered.
The apartment is in excellent shape, well-equipped and very comfortable.
It easily accommodated our cast of 3 adults and 2 dogs. Wish we could stay longer. Beautiful area too.
Wish I could give it a rating above 5 --- that's how nice it was. Accommodations very nice. Host even nicer and super responsive to any issues or questions. Hope next time the grandkids allow me to join into the four square game. Already booked for a three night stay in November.
This rental was perfect for my family celebrating a wedding shower at the nearby "Barn at Mckenzie Farm" which was also an awesome place. We highly recommend this unit. It was clean, comfortable and very peaceful. Owners were responsive to our needs. The house is old but very lovingly kept and charming.
Unfortunately we had only reserved for one night. This is the type of place we could have easily spent 2-3 nights. Or more. Comfortable. Quiet. Relaxing.
We are going to make this a regular stop on our travels through Somerset County in the future.
What a beautiful property this is! Three of my four exchange students immediately declared they wanted to buy it to live in it permanently, and even my mom and I fell in love with it!
The property was beautifully clean, and is very comfortably furnished. The gas fireplace in the living room was a wonderful bonus, as was the double sink outside the bathroom - that was really convenient for 6 ladies getting ready in the morning!
There was plenty of bedding for the extra beds, and everyone slept well. The individual heating controls for each room were also a bonus, as it meant we could all be comfortable in our respective spaces.
Being a Victorian home, the stairs were obviously grandfathered in. The handrail, while beautiful, is very wobbly, and the 3rd stair from the top, being cut in a somewhat awkward triangular shape, was concerning for my 81-year-old mother, but having the jack-and-jill bathroom she could walk through from her room to the kitchen and living rooms was great.
The one BIG disappointment with this property was the lack of hot tub that was noted on the listing. We were all looking forward to enjoying it in the evening.
That being said, my mom and I are already talking about when we can stay at this property again: it was wonderful enough that we want to come back again soon!
Our stay in Salisburg was very nice. The neighborhood is quiet and people in the area are very friendly. The rooms are large with lots of opportunity to be comfortable.
The kitchen has lots of dishes and utensils for basic food prep which we made use of for breakfast and on dinner. We did see a few black ants but it was not an infestation.
The livingroom smart TV worked great to access our personal account to view a movie.
This rental is on the second floor with a somewhat narrow stairway and unsteady hand railing which can be a safety concern.
The window AC units were not yet installed, but we were away during the daytime and the nights were cool so the window dans worked well. Unfortunately the window in the larger bedroom would not open (it was screwed shut for some reason) and even if we could open it, there was not screen. The screen was missing from other windows as well.
A few of the double hung windows do open properly (very heavy like the counterweight is not working) and some do not have screens.
The bathroom is functional and good for the two of us, but some coordination may be required if 5 or 6 people stay here. The added sinks in the hall outside the bathroom are a plus. There is not many places to hang bathtowels.
Overall a nice place, but it needs some repairs to the windows and hand railing.
