Chestnut Street Retreat

A quaint and friendly neighborhood, with large backyard for kids playing or relaxing in the breeze way with morning coffee. Biking or walking around the neighborhood is safe and fun on a sunny day. Though you may feel in the country you are very close to downtown Huntingburg, 8 miles to Downtown Jasper. House is cozy and relaxing for a weekend away or if you're looking for activities Holiday World (18 Miles), Patoka Lake, French Lick Casino & West Baden Hotel (27 Miles).
The space
No smoking permitted inside and pets are not allowed. 2 twin air mattresses, Pack N Play, and high chair are available upon request. Sheets and towels are provided for all beds and guest. Access to washer and dryer in basement is available. 2 Adult bikes and 3 small children bikes are in garage.

Great place to stay for a Holiday world trip. Great German restaurant in nearby Jasper. Check out downtown Huntingburg for great antique store, thrift shop, coffee shop, and ice cream.

Stayed here twice so far. Happy with the quiet location, though there is the occasional train horn in the distance. Will likely stay here if its available every time I visit the area. The kids love the basement and everything is very clean. The house is simple but with enough space to easily handle our 6 guests.

It was a nice neighborhood, very quiet. We had everything we needed. Irene was traveling when I visited her property and forgot to give me the information on how to get into the property but thankfully answered on the first call. It is a great spot for a little get-away!

Chris, I just wanted to let you know that I had actually sent you the check in instructions on April 20th. You responded to me in the 21st thanking me and saying you would call if any questions. You checked in on the 24th and I suppose had forgotten about receiving the instructions 4 days prior. At the time you called I wasn’t able to verify that I had sent them but I did check later to make sure it was not my mistake. Thankfully you did call and were able to get access to the house.

Wonderful house close to Holiday World

This was a delightful home very close to Holiday World. It was very clean, spacious, and perfect for our vacation. Check in and check out was very easy and the renters were great with communication.

Very clean and convenient location. The beds were comfortable and the house had everything we needed. We appreciated how spotless it was and the location was great. Not too far from Holiday World and plenty of good food and shopping close by.

For 2 summers, I have taken my 4 four loud, rambunctious grandchildren on a two day Holiday World getaway. This year, we decided instead of 2 hotel rooms, we would get a VRBO. The Chestnut Street home was a perfect choice. They were able to move freely around the house and enjoy being together in a larger space than a hotel room. The Chestnut Street house itself is wonderful. It felt like a home, rather than just somewhere to sleep. It is a beautifully cared for house. Everything was well stocked. The host obviously thinks about what will be needed on vacation. We don't have any small children, but there were lots of toys and such for small children to play with. There is a big back yard that the kids took advantage of to play outside with the plastic ball and bat and frisbee that was in the garage. I definitely give 5 stars and two thumbs up!
