Hatcher's Haven is a secluded, newly remodeled and redecorated 4 Bedroom Chalet in Shagbark Resort. Hatcher's Haven sits on a large lot with lots of privacy and peaceful view of the scenery all around. When you pull up to the house you will enjoy the covered carport parking. Guests of Hatcher's Haven will enter into the lower level where they will find a large, open seating area complete with arcade game and television. The lower level also has the double bunk room, perfect for kids to have their own space and enjoy the arcade game and television/seating area.

When you arrive upstairs you will be impressed with the open living, dining and kitchen--perfect for a large family to be able to gather, eat and relax! The porch is the entire length of the home so just step outside and enjoy the bbq grill. The deck is home to the best view of the large lot--you will even see wildlife such as birds and deer! The upper level has the Master Bedroom complete with King Bed and ensuite bathroom as well as the other two private bedrooms!

Peaceful!

The property itself wasn’t bad! The place was cute and peaceful especially in the early mornings. The beds weren’t comfortable at all!! Definitely could update the mattress.. bc to me that is important in my stay(nice comfy bed) the bathroom in the hallway didn’t get hot. the water pressure sucked and felt like you were going to fall through the tub floor . And the water in the house stopped working period(that means we had to wait to shower, wash hands). Drive up the hills wasnt to bad or to high but high enough to get some good views.. honestly I think the hardest part was getting up the driveway due to it being gravel. Our second day their the neighbor came out and talked to us(super nice). Gave us some facts about the area. Said he sees about a bear 1-2 a week unfortunately we didn’t . I enjoyed myself being on vacation for the first time in the mountains but honestly would choose a better place the next time!

Secluded mountain getaway

Plenty of space. Clean. Water pressure not great. Didn't see any instructions on how to watch TV. Seems to be a trend these days that you just have to watch the streaming services/apps you already have; plus having to put up the dishes after running the dishwasher. Seems inconvenient to have to wait around for the dishwasher to finish before checking out or else wash by hand. That's not what I go on vacation for. The hill had a couple of steep places that I used the 4-wheel drive for. Not unexpected, but be aware. It's a few miles out of town which was one of the questions I asked before renting, but again, be aware. I thought it would be a great place for a large family to spend time, but be aware of the steep hill and taking around 30 minutes to get into town. If that works for you, I can recommend due to the large size of the house and seemed very clean.

Nice place

The place was nice. Plenty of space and well stocked. The road up the mountain in the complex was steep and windy. Not ideal for bad weather or motion sickness. When we went to the pool, several people told us they were breaking out in a rash from the pool water...some issue with the chemicals. We didn't get in. We used the corn hole boards and the kids were so excited about the arcade game machines. There were several windows where one pane had a crack in it. Twice, huge jumping bugs (grasshopper or crickets?) Got into the basement.

Cleaning was needed prior to stay

This is a beautiful home on the inside, kitchen has all modern appliances and was easy to use. But was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the house an we killed 2 big spiders downstairs. I understand how a house can have dust from sitting but this was beyond that. I cleaned the downstairs bathroom myself. There is a hole behind the light over the sink in the downstairs bathroom and we had numerous insects we had to kill including spiders. I hope that the cleaning crew did a better job for the next guests for the money we paid in fees.
