From the moment you step into this beautiful custom built home, it immediately feels like vacation!  You are welcomed by a panoramic view of the main lake and an oversized a-frame of transom windows which allows natural sunlight to easily illuminate the entire home. New to our home in 2023 are hardwood floors in the main master Bedroom, a brand new shower in the upstairs bathroom, and the kitchen has new double ovens and a new microwave! 

Located in a friendly waterfront community neighborhood, Liquid Sunshine is a perfect getaway home for adults and families that want to relax. Situated on the west side of the main lake, you get the best of both worlds– a gorgeous view but calm waters for paddle boarding, swimming and wake surfing! Three floors allows ample space and privacy for multiple groups. Liquid Sunshine is a 3 story house and sits above the water which is what creates an amazing view! But this means there are a few flights of stairs inside the house and also between the house and the boat house. Please reference pictures and give us a call if you have concerns about anyone in your group taking stairs. 

TOP FLOOR: 
The top floor is designed with multiple sleeping spaces which includes one large room that has 4 trundle beds (sleeping a total of 8), a full bathroom and gaming/movie set up. Groups will feel like they have their own cozy private area! 

MAIN FLOOR: 
The main floor has an open floor plan which features a beautiful stone fireplace (not operational), a kitchen with a large Sub-Zero fridge, 6 burner Viking gas range, double ovens, a separate ice maker, an eat-in island that seats 3, a big dining area (table seats 8), a built-in bar and an additional outdoor seating for 10. There is a half bathroom and a big laundry and pantry room off the entryway. This room is perfect for storing food and coolers for multiple families, plus it has a full size freezer so you can stock up for the week. Off the main living area is a King bedroom with a full en-suite bathroom that opens up to an oversized deck overlooking the lake. After dinner, relax on the deck by the fire table and wait for a full sky of stars to show up! 

LOWER FLOOR: 
The downstairs recreation level features a 2nd King bedroom with a full en-suite bathroom that opens up to another oversized deck overlooking the lake. There are 2 additional bedrooms on this floor that share a full bathroom (1 Queen, 1 Bunk room). 13 foot ceilings and panoramic windows allow the same natural light you get upstairs to come in the expansive walkout basement. There is a “fun zone” with a pub table perfect for playing cards/games, a large TV for movie time, pool table, and wet bar area for entertaining. Or step outside to enjoy a casual and comfortable oversized deck area that has more games like darts, ring toss and a ping pong table. There are also plenty of comfy chairs to sit and relax or read a book. 

OUTDOORS:
The double boathouse sits on deep water and features a 2 tier top deck that boasts magnificent sunset views, a dining area on the water, plus uncovered or covered sunbathing areas. 1 open boat slip is available to moor a boat, There are currently 2 available jetski lifts. Water toys include: 3 paddle boards, 3 kayaks, and a 4 person canoe.  Guests are welcome to use life jackets onsite, however, we do not guarantee size/fit for individuals.  Guests are encourage to bring their own life jackets. There is a 2 car garage plus a separate parking area that will fit at least 2 more cars for a total of 6 spots in the driveway. 

LOCATION:
This house is located on the South West side of Lake Gaston at mile marker 18.
Please Note: Liquid Sunshine is not available for groups larger than 16, events or parties.   
Hawtree Creek is the closest boat ramp. It is located in Boydton. This ramp comes up in a web search.

Wonderful property with a great view. It could use some maintenance on the exterior updates. Also, the steps down to the dock and back up are significant so be advised. Overall, we had a great time and it is a great property.

Great Location and Amenities

Our family had a great and relaxing getaway at this property. It’s a great house and in a near-perfect location. A couple of small things that rental properties often over look - and we noticed were done very well here. Kitchen was perfectly organized with helpful labels and any needed accessories. The oversized refrigerator and separate oversized freezer were especially helpful. Days on the dock and perfect boating weather made this trip amazing. See you next year.

My Birthday

The only little issue was the heating of the downstairs living area, it was cold due to a part of the thermostat needing a part, but the property manager Ann was right on it. Even though the issue wasn't solved due to it being the weekend we made do and everything Ann could provide and do along with the owners was done. My family enjoyed and we will return. Great vacation place!

Break from reality

Just an awesome property… far exceeds our previous 4 stays at Lake Gaston! Beautiful view shed of the main lake and a feeling we weren’t jammed up against the neighbors. The 81 steps and staircases reminded us of the Hogwarts moving stairs (they didn’t!) and were not a problem at all… we felt healthier by the end of the week! The HVAC kept up with the heat advisory week we had better than any previous VRBO rental. Well appointed kitchen with a separate ice maker that was better than a in freezer one, a full size freezer, full sized refrigerator and two ovens. First house that we didn’t have to depend on coolers and ice for food storage! We definitely will return! PS jumping off the two story dock was a treat for adults and kids. The swim mat was a hit!

Beautiful view but needs attention for five stars

The oven was broken. Three of the six stove top burners did not work properly. And walk way around the house was a unkept. When getting water hose to clean up the deck and wash furniture there was used painting stuff. Spent a large part of of Sunday with oven installers in the house, and cleaners addressing items. Old carpet in master bedroom and closet was a major allergy problem for my son Causing several trips to distant stores for medicine. The manager was super addressing concerns but all the issues still impacted my first day and Family Sunday brunch plans. The lake view and sunrise and sunset views are lovely. But pricey for the quality.

The view is AMAZING!!!!

I am not a fan of main lake stays (prefer a cove) but this house changed my mind. The view is spectacular!! It doesn’t matter if you are in the house, on the porch or the boat dock. I wish I could attach a sunset picture to this review. Here are some of our other favorite things: the double oven made breakfast easy, huge fridge and the freezer located in the storage room held all of our food and ice. The storage room was a lifesaver! The other reviews had us worried about wifi but we had no issues and able to browse internet, send texts and pictures just fine. The beach area was perfect for using paddle boards they provide. The house had more than adequate air conditioning for its size but some of the thermostats were tricky to use. There is plenty of parking too, I think the description for that is confusing. We didn’t realize they have private trash pick up service so when it’s full all you have to do is text the property manager and they will arrange it. This house has plenty of space and we never felt crowded. We will stay again!

Beautiful views

We had a nice stay in Lake Gaston at this property. The views were terrific and the layout of the home was great for a large group. The home itself was clean but needs some attention. Several areas on the deck/stairs outdoors were looks or coming apart, and several of the MANY French doors to the outside were difficult to lock, leaving us a bit unsure of security. Overall the photos from the listing are a tad deceiving. Hopefully with some touch ups, this can be a great place for many families to enjoy. Thanks!

Amazing vacation!

Our group had an amazing time staying at this beautiful home. It was the perfect place for two families with kids to enjoy a much needed lake vacation. The home had everything that you needed to enjoy the lake. The views are absolutely amazing! There is even a beach area that the kids had a blast playing in. The only downside was the slowness of the internet which made streaming difficult. However, it was nice to unplug and enjoy everything else that the house had to offer. We would definitely look to stay here again.

Beautiful Property BUT

This Property was gorgeous. the boat landing is not .5% miles away like is mentioned in the description. There were no essentials like trash bags or cleaning supplies for a long weekend. the Internet is terrible- we couldn’t stay connected with phones and couldn’t stream a movie with the Roku TVs on the day it rained all day. The beds are terribly uncomfortable if you don’t like firm mattresses. All beds were very hard to sleep on. The check out instructions couldn’t be followed because we didn’t have laundry bags so we left linens in laundry room. BUT The lake was so fun. The decks available were perfect. The pad and floats were so conventient. We brought out boat and rented a jet ski and we had a blast.
