Happy Hour Hideaway has all of the upscale features of any Luxury Lake Home. Great 4600+ square feet of open floor plan suited for multi-family vacation. Total of 5 spacious bedrooms with large closets, 4 baths, and 2 fully equipped custom gourmet kitchens w/granite counters. Home includes multiple entertainment and living areas with high end features: coffered ceiling, hardwood & tile floors and high ceilings throughout. Lower level features 2nd kitchen, bar and another family room for ultimate entertainment. Great bunkroom for the kids with attached bonus room for TV, PS3, and lots of games. Separate game room in lower level includes pool table, ping pong table and dart board area. 7-person hot tub is located on the lower level deck with another covered outdoor seating area.

Gently sloping Cove-to-main Lake lot w/ beautiful main lake views from the double sundeck boathouse and good water depth. Sundeck has plenty of room to spread out with lots of seating, tables, lounge chairs and a large umbrella if you need some shade. We also added a covered seating area on the lower level of the boathouse. Safe, quiet swimming cove only 4 lots from main lake!

For you to enjoy on the water: 4 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, large floating mat, assorted floats and blow up water toys. We also have life jackets available for use (various sizes). 2 hammocks are provided down by the lake for your afternoon siesta and there is a new large fire pit for your after dinner stories and s’mores. Enjoy some friendly competition at the cornhole pits (boards are included) or newly added basketball goal in the cul-de-sac.

Hi-speed internet for those that need to work. Spread out and enjoy all the comforts of home on your relaxing, fun Lake Gaston vacation.

Beautiful home

Our family spent Thanksgiving and a milestone birthday at this beautiful home. This spacious home was very well stocked and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. My grandchildren loved the paddle boards, kayaks, hot tub, corn hole and all of us enjoyed the fire pit. Many thanks to our great hosts!

Perfect Spot for a Family Gathering

Our family absolutely loved staying at this property! It was spacious, well-maintained, and perfectly suited for a large group. Well equipped, comfortable, and specious

The house was a bit low on paper towels and toilet paper when we arrived, but was otherwise very well equipped. Brian was very proactive and responsive, offering to have the handyman swing by with paper products and--when my daughter lost her new earrings at the property--drove from Raleigh himself to search for them.

Amazing home

The pictures do this property no justice! It is a gorgeous home with all the comforts for all ages to enjoy. The back yard& boathouse are perfect for outdoor activities. All my family enjoyed our week-end stay!

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful time and the owners were very responsive and accommodating. It was two families of 4 (2 adults & 2 kiddos) and it was plenty of room. The cove was perfect for younger kiddos. It was a great retreat for two fireman and their families.

Above and Beyond

The house was "as advertised"! Great accommodations and amenities inside and out. We had an extended family long weekend at Gaston and couldn't have been happier with the quality of stay. But, also, the communication between the owners, Brian and Anne, was incredible. Due to some circumstances completely out of their control, the house might possibly not be available for the dates we booked. They were able to come up with plan B options for us just in case. As it was, all problems were fixed and we were able to enjoy their beautiful home. I would highly recommend not only for the accommodations but also because of the attentiveness of the owners of this property. We hope to make a return trip sometime in the not so distant future!

Our stay here was wonderful! The home is beautiful inside and out. We loved how well stocked the home was, from the kitchens to the lake toys! Upon our arrival the home was very clean. We enjoyed the kayaks, the pool table, hot tub and fire pit! The hosts have truly thought of everything you may need to enjoy your stay!

Empty nesters

One of the best properties I have ever stayed in. We had 8 adults and had more than enough room. The fire pit and hot tub were fabulous and the lake toys, paddle boards, kayaks, life vests, floats, you name it the house had it. The house over all was stocked with everything you could need. The only thing was our food and the hosts were fantastic! Very responsive with any questions we had. I highly recommend and would go back if visiting Lake Gaston

Peaceful and well appointed lake house!

We really enjoyed our girls trip to the lake house in October. We had beautiful weather and the house was spacious and amazing, yet cozy too. Our hardest decision was figuring out which of the great seating options to hang out at! The kitchen was well appointed and spacious. We especially appreciated the family friendly amenities for our infant son, including a high chair and bath insert. Couple of minor heads up- wifi was a bit spotty, and note upon departure that you'll have to bring trash off property. Communcating with Anne was amazing and she was incredibly quick to respond (and kindly!). Highly recommend this peaceful place on the water.

Amazing place with owners that care

The best place we have stayed as a family hands down. Kids and adults had a blast on the water and the owners did so many special touches. From leaving my daughter a happy birthday basket to setting up the hammock and fire pit for us. Kids are already asking when we are going back. We couldn’t have been happier.

Amazing soace

This house had everything you need for a fantastic weekend. Stayed with 12 guys and we were all comfortable. Plenty of space, plenty of room for activities, great dock and outdoor space. The lake was beautiful and it was a treat to use the kayaks and paddle boards. Would highly recommend this to any group of friends or family gatherings.

Spacious and Beautiful lakefront home

My family of 7 adults spent 3 nights at this lovely lake house for an 80th birthday celebration for my mom. We loved it! The house was very clean, beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations, and had large bedrooms and gathering areas. We enjoyed the hot tub, kayaks, paddle boards and sitting on the large dock together. The kitchen had everything needed to cook meals for everyone. Communication with the owners was easy and I always received a quick response to any question. We would love to stay here again!

Sweetest Mansion this side of Heaven!

Let me start by saying, Anne & Brian are The Best! They make you start feeling at home before you get there! The majority of our group have traveled together across NC, SC & TN. Most of our Lodging has been ok ... BUT What you See in the pics & descriptions are EXACTLY WHAT YOU GET... & MORE! We could not have asked for more

When reviewing properties I read the reviews. This house had amazing reviews and once we entered the property I quickly found out why! This house was beyond fully stocked ! We cooked the 4 days breakfast lunch and dinner and had everything we needed even down to simple things. This house was beautiful and had plenty of room for the 14 of us and never felt crowded. We will be renting again and hopefully sooner than later. The property owners were very gracious and responded immediately. The kids loved the fishing and fire pit and the corn hole boards! There is nothing I could have needed or asked for that this house didn’t have! We came we stayed and made many amazing memories! Thank you for sharing your home.

A great family destination

Our 4 day stay was wonderful and accommodated our family of 9 with pets very comfortably. The hosts were also very accommodating with respect to pre stay coordination and staying in touch with us during our stay. The house was very large, very well appointed with bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, game room and water related outdoor activities. The hot tub was ready for our use when we arrived. The house was located on a quiet cove with just a short distance up to the main lake. The boat dock was very nice with plenty of seating both topside and on the main dock. Swimming and floating in the cove near the dock was enjoyable, although the access into the cove from the yard itself is not recommended due to the soft bottom/mud at the shoreline. The furniture and beds were very comfortable and both kitchens had plenty of kitchen and cook ware so that you really don't need to bring anything but the food. The nearest grocery store is about 20 minutes away so we highly recommend coming prepared with your grocery items prior to arrival. The fire pit area looked brand new and was equipped with lots of seating and firewood. This place and its owners were super and we do plan to make this an annual family gathering in the future.

Officially Lake People

After years of beach vacations, we wanted to switch things up with a lake getaway this year. We decided the first night that, while the beach is great, we are lake people. The Happy Hour Hideaway was perfect for our family. We immediately fell in love with the secluded location, and the home itself exceeded our expectations. Our kids even commented on and appreciated the cleanliness. Brian and Anne are communicative, thoughtful hosts. We had a great week and look forward to visiting again. One thing to note is that you have to take your trash with you when you go. I don’t think that’s noted in the listing, and I was in full vacation mode and neglected to read the checkout instructions at the house in time to realize the dump is closed on Fridays (and not open until 7:30am Saturdays). Had we done that we’d have made multiple trips throughout the week. Our bad for not reading the checkout instructions sooner, though. With that in mind, we would definitely stay again and highly recommend the HHH.

O'Rourke visit

Anne, we had a wonderful time at the Hideaway. Overall, it was a great visit! Just a couple of small items I want to bring to your attention. My wife and I are on Boost mobile and discovered we have no cell coverage, hence our lack of communication with you and Tony! The good news is that our son and daughter in law have a different plan and we were able to communicate with Brian through them! So no problem. The TV's were a bit of an issue. Not sure how many channels you get on Dish TV but my tribe said there weren't many channels. Also the internet was slow, so streaming wasn't really an option. I was perfectly happy without TV, but the younger crowd is another story. That said, we loved it. The kids had great success fishing off the dock and kayaks were a big hit. Campfires and marshmallows every night! You have a beautiful place. Tony's boat was a huge help, too! Thanks for your hospitality. We will be back!

Lake Gaston-Old Ferry Estates

We hosted and enjoyed a long, late summer weekend family get together at Old Ferry Estates. The 2 story home was just as described with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and two well equipped kitchens (upstairs and downstairs). Parking was ample with hard surface driveway and parking available in front of home. It had been 25 years since I had visited Lake Gaston and I was surprised at the growth and development of large vacation homes. This beautiful home was located on a quiet cove and had a two level dock with plenty of tables and seating for sun bathing or having cocktails. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards, water play mat, fire pit and hot tub. The dock house had inflatables and life jackets for children and adults. The home was beautiful, well equipped and spacious. Thank you for the wonderful memories!
