About this property
Gorgeous Seattle Walk-Up w/Roof Deck & Light Rail to UW
Stay in our stylish 2-story (1,000+ sf) home on the top floors of a European-style brick townhouse on a courtyard with huge windows and high ceilings. We're in Columbia City, a neighborhood with world-class cafes & bakeries, restaurants, bars, a grocery store, a movie theater, music venues, and an art gallery. We're a 3-block walk to Light Rail (metro), giving you quick access to the airport, downtown, and UW.
Floor-to-ceiling windows let in lots of light and a Japanese soaking tub is lovely after a long day. Radiant heat keeps your toes warm in the cooler months, and air conditioning is ready for the summer. The bedrooms are on the second floor and feature high-end queen mattresses. The kitchen/living/dining areas are on the third floor. The kitchen is very well appointed and the roof deck is divine on a sunny day.
As professional food and travel writers, we're on the road a lot and we've done our best to outfit our place with traveler-friendly touches that other places neglect. There's fast internet with a mesh network, of course, but also things like sharp knives, quality pots and pans, nice wine glasses, good lighting, great water pressure, and multiple coffee-making options: drip, French press, AeroPress. You'll find plenty of hangars, drawers, and storage space, an iron and ironing board that aren't flimsy, a dish rack so you don't have to stack your wet plates in a pile. Come bedtime, there are reading lamps on both sides of both beds, and a few types of pillows for a great night's sleep.
We have a pass available for street parking.

About the host
Hosted by Joe
We're both writers and journalists, and longtime residents of the neighborhood and occasionally rent our place out. We've hosted on a few platforms for years and love sharing what makes our neighborhood great.
Why they chose this property
We love it here. It's very walkable--every shop, cafe and restaurant is within a few blocks and there's easy access to Seattle's LightRail, meaning we almost never need to get in our car unless we want to go further afield. Nearby is Lake Washington Boulevard, a Frederick Olmstead park, and just over a mile to Seward Park with its beaches and old-growth forest.
What makes this property unique
It's a lovely place that is clean and bright and welcoming. We spend a lot of time here so everything in the house is nice, well made, and well cared for. If you like coffee, for example, instead of a cheap coffee maker, there's a top-rated Bonavita, an AeroPress, and a French press. The mattresses are very comfortable. There's radiant heating to keep your toes warm in the winter and an AC if it gets hot in the summer. We've put a lot of time and effort to make this place wonderful.
