we have rented cabins in several different states and this
one is one of if not the best one we have rented. It is convenient to the town and shopping. We totally enjoyed our stay and are talking about renting it again
Great cabin with easy access to the water. Clean and comfortable.
Great cabin with easy access to the water. Clean and comfortable.. We loved that each floor had its own bed and bath. Tubing drop off about a mile away and the tube ride back to the house was around an hour.
The cabin was gorgeous and cozy. We loved waking up to hear the river and sitting on the porch listening to the birds. As a Floridian the roads were pretty intimidating but in no way ruined our overall experience. The location was excellent close enough to pick up forgotten essentials and a reasonable distance from attractions.
We had a wonderful vacation as a family of 7! Comfortable beds, beautiful views of the river, and extremely kind and responsive host! The sound of the river with morning coffee was perfect to set the tone of the day. We all really enjoyed seeing deer throughout the resort as well.
I cannot say enough things about this cabin. It is beautiful and located in one of the most peaceful areas of the Coossawattee River Community. The owners are very accomodating and kind. The communication with the them was always good, and questions were answered promptly. There is a lot of deer around for your family to enjoy! To sum up, I highly recommend this cabin. You will not be disappointed! Thank you!
This is such a lovely and welcoming home. The views from all decks were fabulous, we had everything we needed to be comfortable and cook any meals we wanted. We enjoyed the downtown Ellijay area. Soooo many deer around too, they were fun to watch. Can't wait to come back- maybe next time will float the river!
We really enjoyed the property and the surrounding area. The adults enjoyed the relaxing sound of the river while on the deck or sitting around the fire pit was very relaxing. The kids really enjoyed fishing, tubing and playing in the river. The house was very well equipped with kitchen, bed and bath supplies. Highly recommend this house me for anyone looking to stay in the ellijay/blue ridge area
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely cabin. There was plenty of room for my our family of 5 (14, 15, 16 yo kids), the kitchen and baths were well stocked, house was clean, beds comfy, in a quiet and secluded place along the river. River access was a big plus as it allowed us to do some fly fishing when it wasn’t raining. The porches are amazing with fantastic mountain and river views. The owner was very communicative and pro active with sharing information. Pet friendly with easy check I /out instructions. Coosawatee river is one of our favorite spots!
Beautiful view, loved the porch space and sitting areas. My toddlers loved the back porch and it was locked so it was very safe. Downstairs definitely got cold, luckily saw the personal heaters on day two and they helped a lot. Wasn’t crazy about the kitchen table because it was very high and only sat four. Loved the toddler/children’s table. Beds were cozy. Sheets great. Beautiful resort, lots of deer and wildlife. Ready to go back. Overall good experience.
House is great, right on the river. Loved the pool table for down times. Big beds with private baths. Home owner is very responsive!
However, your vehicle may need some clearance for the road to the home and the driveway. We drove a sedan and scrubbed the ground a couple times when the car was loaded. It is a rocky dirt road.
Otherwise, absolutely no complaints!!!
The pictures do not disappoint. As soon as you pull in the neighborhood. You are overwhelmed with the fall colors, beautiful scenery, and even some welcome visitors (deer). The cabin itself is right along the riverbank and close to some rapids so you can hear the water from the house with the windows and doors open. The beds were comfortable everything you needed was there. We brought our 17 month old son with us and we felt safe letting him wander. He loved being outside and thought it was the nest thing to see all the wildlife in his backyard. Will 100% stay here again next year around this time. Only next time maybe a little longer.!

Nice view
Nice view of the river, kitchen and baths well stocked. Owner communicated well, responded quickly. Enjoyed the pool table though it and sticks have seen better days. Lots of deer and some in the yard, which was fun. We enjoyed the rec center even though it is a 20 minute ride. Unfortunately house was not clean enough for us. Oven in kitchen dirty. Shower had mildew and hair. Cobwebs in the rafters and crumbs under the sofa cushions. Decks not blown off or hosed down and windows washed in awhile.
This cabin is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. The roads up to the cabin are pretty rough, so I definitely recommend a vehicle that has good ground clearance. The kitchen is super well stocked with spices and cookware. Owners provide dish washer and laundry detergent pods, and plenty of TP. The wrap around deck with locking gates on two sides is perfect for dogs. House could use some better outside lighting. The shower on the main floor is amazing but the joints/sealant on the floor need to be redone- some places were peeling and black mold could be seen underneath. The bedroom on the bottom floor really needs a fan, kids complained they were hot. Couldn't find Fan ON option on AC dial. The bathroom on the bottom floor is in need of make-over. The glass-door shower also has spots of black mold, could use a double sink, and also needs a fan or a dehumidifier. The mini-fridge in the game room is great, but is in need of a good cleaning. Game room needs a little more lightning and the pockets of the pool table need to be replaced as most of them have been over stretched/holes, hence balls fall onto hard floor. Hot tub was super clean! Aside for the above minor issues, this cabin is excellent! Loved having a grill to cook out and the guest pass to the recreational center was a wonderful surprise- the pool was refreshing and we had no wait time for a court. The fact that the three bedrooms are on separate floors, makes it a great house for families with adult children.
Nice access to River. A bit daunting to get into the River and the owners advise caution. Nice view of the river. Bedrooms and bathrooms just fine. The lower level would be great for kids. Hot tube nice and clean. We didn't use as it was still pretty warm outside
Our stay at Rapid Retreat was great! We enjoyed being right on the river – the sound of the rapids was very soothing. The hot tub was awesome and there was plenty of porch space for us to relax together. The instructions provided by the owners were very precise and helpful. We had a great time!
The property was amazing. The river was the best for relaxing, floating, and unwinding! The beds were comfortable and the living room couch was amazing to wind down on at night. This cabin had everything we needed and we enjoyed our week stay! Communication with the owner was quick and the location cannot be beat.
Had a great time staying at the cabin for one week. Saw lots of deer, went into the river everyday, walked around the community everyday. Great place to stay on vacation.
We could not have stayed in a better cabin for our family of three couples and fur babies! This was the cleanest dog friendly cabin we have encountered on VRBO!The owner, Mauricio went above and beyond with his communication and answered any, and every question that I had. Loved that each couple had their own level of privacy with the sleeping arrangements. We soooo enjoyed the deck overlooking the river. We played multiple card games, had several meals out there, enjoyed our morning coffee there, and as previously mentioned, other reviews, we saw many deer. some of my family members actually fed the deer from their hands. Night time consisted of playing pool in the basement along with karaoke from one of our daughter’s portable karaoke machine. That was quite comical. Really enjoyed playing in the river by the rapids and our son-in-law‘s enjoyed the fishing. Had tons of fun taking our tubes down the road a bit and putting in at the river and floating back to our cabin. The cabin was in great proximity to many places to visit/explore! Enjoyed hiking at Tumbling Waters Trail with our dogs and playing in the river there. We visited a few vineyards that we’ve never been to, one being Grapes and Ladder, which is less than 2 miles from the resort entrance. Buckley’s vineyards was amazing with their food trucks, live entertainment, and fireworks. Biguns barbecue was amazing and not far from our cabin. Downtown Ellijay was close by as well as liquor stores, Chick-fil-A, and Walmart.
