Had such a nice time exploring the area during the day and then relaxing in the peacefulness of the cabin. It was clean and the setting was lovely. The piano was a bonus - we had so much fun playing and singing our favorite tunes. Already planning to go back next year! Thank you!
We had a wonderful time at Daryl’s cozy cabin in the charming Beachwood community. Located a five minute walk from the Stockbridge bowl, it provided easy access to Tanglewood and all the southern Berkshires have to offer. The cabin was comfortable and had a large backyard and grill which we used. Daryl was very responsive and answered our questions promptly.
Great location but property in need of updating, especially kitchen and bath. Place was overall clean, rust in tub from hard water. Living and dining rooms attractive and comfortable. Listing accurate in terms of linens, sufficient towels, cooking and eating appliances and implements. Host very responsive to our questions and clearly wanted us to have a positive experience.

Thank you for your feedback and for staying at our family cabin. We’re pleased to hear that you found the location and living areas comfortable and that you appreciated our responsiveness.
We understand that the cabin’s charm may not align with everyone’s taste, particularly regarding its vintage features. The cabin was built by my grandfather in 1954, and it holds significant sentimental value for our family. As such, it retains many of its original characteristics, which some guests might consider part of its unique appeal.
Regarding the kitchen and bathroom, these areas have seen selective updates. The bathroom has been recently upgraded, with a new toilet, a custom tongue-and-groove tub surround, and a pedestal sink. While the bathtub and its fixtures are older, they remain fully functional. The kitchen is a mix of old and new, featuring a brand-new LG refrigerator, a Ninja counter oven, and a vintage Hardwick propane range, which we believe adds to the cabin’s charm. The collectible Youngstown Kitchen sink and base cabinet, hand-built cabinetry, and other elements crafted by my grandfather are pieces of history that we cherish and hope our guests can appreciate as well.
As for the water quality, we take this matter very seriously. We have a comprehensive filtration system in place, including an iSpring Whole House Water Descaler and additional filters for drinking water. The iron stains near the tub drain, caused by a minor faucet drip, are purely aesthetic and are being addressed. Regular testing confirms our well water is safe and clean.
We genuinely regret that your experience did not fully meet your expectations, but we believe that these aspects of our cabin contribute to its unique character, which many of our guests have come to love.
We appreciate your feedback as it helps us maintain and improve our beloved cabin. We hope that future guests will continue to enjoy the charm and history that make our property special. Thank you once again for choosing to stay with us.
This is a very cute, no-nonsense cabin in the woods. All of the basics you need are available. A good place to get away from the noise of the city. The beach (which we did not visit) appears to be within walking distance. Very few cars on the roads and the people you will meet are friendly.
The house was very comfortable , in a great location vv Tanglewood. The area was quiet and family oriented. Everyone knew everyone else and volunteered great reviews of the host, Daryl.
We kayaked, swam, and relaxed as planned. We knew the area well. My husband.even got some work done in the mornings.
We have stayed in many rentals in the area.and consider it one of our best choices.
Simple, quiet, friendly and convenient
Definitely considering a return visit.

Thanks. You are very welcome to return. Best wishes.
We stayed for 4 nights for our annual Berkshire summer cultural getaway. The cabin is basic but comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Comfortable beds and couches. AC in bedrooms. Lovely deck. The Beachwood neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. Great for morning walks and a swim at the community beach. The proximity to Stockbridge and Lenox sights can not be beat. I highly recommend. Daryl was easy to communicate with and very responsive. We hope to return.

So glad you had a good time. Best wishes. Hope to see you both again.
The cabin is rustic but quite charming, lovely wood interior with a beautiful fireplace and had all the essentials needed for our stay. The microwave was up a bIt high for short people but manageable. The deck and lovely backyard were perfect, peaceful and very quiet, you’re definitely in the woods. There is a fire pit but we didn’t use it. The owner stopped by to say hello which was very nice, he was easy to communicate with. We had no issues and would stay here again if the opportunity came up.

Hi Kathy. Thanks so much for your feedback. We think you are right about the microwave. We can move it to a different location. Best wishes. Hope to see you again.
The location of the house is great. Near the development beach and Stockbridge beach. Near Tanglewood and Lenox. the house is a bit rustic however the owners want to make your stay a good one. An example is the internet was slow. The next day Daryl up graded the internet and it works great. Count on the owners to try to rectify any issues.Enoy the Berkshires.
The cabin was perfect for our weekend trip. I was riding in the PMC Unpaved and the cabin was conveniently 5 minutes up the road from the camp. It was very cozy. Mostly clean but it is a cabin so obviously there are some spiders/bugs. I have 2 smaller complaints.. The cabin had hard water so the bathtub was covered in hard water stains and making it look dirty and we used waterbottles to brush teeth and cook.. Luckily there were showers at the camp we could use.
My only other complaint was that only after arriving we were notified by paper instructions on the counter that we're expected to bring our trash to the local dump using the sticker. I was annoyed about this at first because now I have to bring the trash there and then drive back to bring the sticker back. (18ish minute drive total). When we were going to leave (check out is 11am) I put the address to the dump in my GPS to find out that they don't even open until 12. We ended up taking the trash all the way home to throw it out. That to me is just something so silly and inconvenient for me as a guest but much more simple for the owner of the property.
Other than that we had no issues with the property or the owner.
