Excellent customer service and amenities
This was the perfect cozy spot for our workers return to after long cold days on the job. The communication and response from the owners about our needs was top notch with timeliness and ability to provide for our needs.
Thank you for the stay!
Great stay in the mountains, not too far from a grocery store to get food for the home. Was a little tough to see the driveway from the road, we all drove past it the first time.
The house has everything one needs for a great vacation. Only small issue was the grass around hot tub needed to be mowed to cut down on mosquitos. Otherwise a fantastic stay and we will certainly recommend to friends.
We really enjoyed the house and the amenities, especially the hot tub. The kitchen was great for cooking, the laundry room was much appreciated. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic stay in Fairplay!
Second Home Rentals was amazing to work with. They were attentive, described the property well, and made this an easy stay. We rented for an entire month, and they helped coordinate new linens, trash, etc. We had family, friends, and an infant. The property was expansive and a great place to explore.
10/10!
From the moment we checked in to the unfortunate check out everything was wonderful! Couldn’t have had a better place for my boyfriend and I to connect on a deeper level! Just enough seclusion yet close to all amenities! Will absolutely be back!

Perfect property for everyone
This home has all the creature comforts of civilization, yet you have total privacy as it is nestled in the trees. It was clean and comfortable for our family outing; each couple had a queen bed and private bath. The kitchen had all the essentials plus. The only negative is the view because you are in the trees close to the property line, there is not much of a view, but the centralized location for day trips and a quiet spot where we could all relax and hang out make this place ideal. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, the owners were quick and responsive to our questions. We loved our visit!
We had a wonderful experience staying on this property. The house was cute, clean and just as they described! There was plenty of space for the 5 adults to stay! We loved the privacy of this house, as it was nestled behind trees and not visible from the road. I loved the fenced back yard for my dogs— a very pet friendly house for sure! The communication from the property manager was great! From the initial booking, to the questions I had prior to arriving, to the information at checkout, they made it all easy! We will definitely be staying here again!
Love the fact that there were 2 master suites each having a whirlpool tub. The hot tub was easy access from the deck. Beautiful Aspen forest in the back. It is a quiet area but the one neighbor with his fenced-in area with no trespassing signs posted ,,,we did see him and his dog walking his fence line with a rifle when we first drove to the house but that was the only time.
We loved our stay in this secluded home! We are from Missouri where it is hot and humid….once we realized there was no A/C, we were able to leave a couple windows open to keep the house cool. We were 30-45 mins away from Breck, Buena Vista…and really any activity we wanted to do. The house has a mice issue, but we know that can happen. The communication was responsive and quick. Overall we thought the house was very nice.

We're so happy you enjoyed your stay and are sorry there were mice that got into the house. The property has been evaluated for entry points and these have been mitigated, so there shouldn't be any mice issues in the future. We'd love to have you back in the future!

Gem in Aspen Grove
We had a wonderful vacation. The house is newly renovated in a cute farmhouse style, and everything is provided for a comfortable stay. Everything was very clean, the kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the hot tub is well-maintained. We loved the fenced-in yard for the dogs and the dog welcome basket. The house has great internet, two big-screen TVs, and books and games for entertainment. The location is ideal, just off the highway, but tucked back in a beautiful Aspen grove. It was plenty of space for a family of five and we enjoyed the big porch and beautiful lights around the hot tub. The communication with the property manager was very pleasant and professional. Detailed information about check-in, check-out, hot tub, and wood stove maintenance was provided in an informative book. We will be back for sure!

“Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to hosting you again in the future!”
- The Second Home Team-
Spacious well appointed home. Beds were comfortable and linens were superb! Linens were so fresh and smelled wonderful. The bath sheets, wash clothes, and hand towels were top notch! So much so I'm placing an order for my home. Living room furniture was very nice. Plenty of room to sprawl out and relax. The two whirlpool tubs were dreamy. The grill and hot tub got a work out multiple times a day. We loved having a gas cook top when we weren't grilling. Games provided for both kids and adults. The aspen Grove was just beautiful. The only thing that was missing in the kitchen was a pizza cutter but we made due with a knife. Overall wonderful relaxing play to relax and play.

Fantastic Home
I really enjoyed my stay for the first week and am sure I will enjoy my stay for the 2nd week. Some things I would like to note which doesn't impact anything about my stay, but just want to note so a future guest less carefree than me doesn't give you a negative review.
#1 - Guests should be aware that there may be rodents in the house. I wasn't aware and left a bag of chips and a loaf of bread on the counter and realized the next day something had gotten into both of them.
#2 - The toilet handle in the master bathroom sticks and if you don't think about it the toilet will run continuously unless you unstick it.
#3 - The "backyard" surrounding the hot tub should have the grass kept low since the yard is fenced and a guest could allow their dog to roam around there. As it is, the grass/brush is taller than my dogs and I have large dogs.
#5 - The hot tub temperature control button isn't very friendly. If you press either the up or down it could go either up or down. So if I press up the temperature could go down. So it's very finnicky.
As two young families, we choose this property based on location. The location was ideal for our needs. No major roads to worry about the kids, wide open outdoors. HOWEVER, upon our arrival, we were greeted by the neighbors fence line where there were signs threatening lethal force and beware of dog, tents set up, surveillance warnings, and skeletons hanging in the trees. Each morning before 7:30, the neighbor would walk the fence line with his rifle and unleashed German shepherd. After his walk, he began trimming trees with his chainsaw. This would go on for most of the morning without pause.
Additionally, the home is infested with mice. Our counteracts had fresh droppings each morning and many of our groceries were ruined by mice.
This was less than the serene mountain vacation we were looking for. The price was appealing, the pictures sold it, the actual stay still gives me nightmares.
