Location. A short 10-15 mins walk takes you to the lake and a bunch of restaurants along the shore.Straightforward and easy check-in process. Very clean and comfortable beds.
A great stay. Property was as advertised and worked well for our family. Host was very accommodating and responsive via text. Golf course behind house worked well fit the kids to play in the snow.
The location was great, short drive to King City and Northstar. The place had everything we needed, the kitchen and living room upstairs was great for hanging out. I’d definitely come back again.
Clean, well stocked kitchen, great place for our large family to hang over holiday break. Loved the heated flooring - such a luxurious touch. Wish it was closer to the ski resorts and pricing was lower but that's just the way it is. A great host and stay!
The house was well appointed and worked perfectly for a family of 8. We had plenty of sleeping space and the house was well appointed. Close to Kings Beach.
This is house is located within walking distance to King's Beach, yet remains isolated enough for peace and quiet. My friends and I played golf at Old Brockway (and other places) and found the location perfect. House had all amenities and was very well maintained.
We came for a midweek getaway and loved every moment! The wifi was excellent for distance learning and work from home. The kitchen was very well stocked. The sledding hill behind the house was great great fun!! Being walking distance to the lake and the Safeway was convenient too. We can’t wait to return.
The property is as advertised. The house was clean and well equipped. The large kitchen and great room provided a great space for cooking, eating, and relaxing. The kids enjoyed playing in the snow behind the cabin and the adults appreciated the short drive to Northstar. Safeway and restaurants are conveniently located within two miles. We enjoyed our stay.
This property was perfect in layout, square footage, and location. Great walkability to stores, the shore, and fitness walking and just far enough away from the busyness to be private and serene. There's a honey-do list that needs attending (new grill, bev fridge, main floor couch, downstairs shower curtain, pocket door in primary bedroom bath) but those are easy and a local handyman could shore that up in a day or two. Despite the honey-do list I'd stay here again and recommend it to groups ranging in size from 4 to 8.
We rented a house in Tahoe Vista and we were hopeful it would meet our needs. The house surpassed our expectations and was so comfortable for our family. Having an extra room downstairs for the kids was a bonus and the main space upstairs was roomy, accessible and very family friendly. Loved that the house was somewhat shaded and stayed fairly cool a good part of the day.
The deck was lovely and the master suite was great. We received quick responses when we had questions or concerns. We already rented the house again for next summer. Thank you for a fabulous vacation.

First, it’s not a short walk to the beach it’s about 2.3 miles on a very busy highway into Kings Beach. We would recommend NOT staying during the summer. NO AC and the house stays at about 80 all day. We bought a box fan to help circulate the air and donated it to the house. The deck was ok, but faces South so it’s very HOT all day. The carpet in the bedrooms is very old and stained. *** there is a serious lack of parking especially when all the neighbors are parked on the street. The BBQ propane was empty!! Garbage bin was full from last visitors. The toaster only toasts one side of the bread. The ice maker did not work, but I fixed that. There is plenty of pots, pans and dishes for cooking, but the stove is a hassle to keep lit . There’s a nice 9 hole golf course and it actually has really good food.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am truly sorry to hear your stay did not meet your expectations.
To clarify for future guests, the home is about 0.6 miles to the beach. I personally walked many times and both google map and my walking app showed about the same around 0.5-0.6mi. Please note there are several and you might went to a different one.
Regarding the temperature inside the house, like many homes in the Tahoe area, we do not have central AC, as it is not typically needed. That said, summer heat waves are becoming more common, annd we are looking into ways to improve airflow and comfort , including adding more fans. Thank you for leaving the one you pruchased - that was very kind of you.
On the propane tank, as I addressed in the welcome note, our policy is for the guest to change whenever it is empty, as it was not covered by the cleaning crew.
As for the ice maker, stove and toaster, I checked just a few days ago, they are working as designed. Sorry that you had trouble.
Your comments about the carpet are noted, we are discussiing if we change to hardwood. The feedback is mixed. We are however having professional carpet cleaning annually after each summer. It is our objective to have every part of the home to feel fresh, functional and welcoming.
I am glad you enjoyed the golf course and the restaurant. Thanks for the feedback.
Warm regards!

My sister's family I my f...
My sister's family I my family both stayed in this house for three nights. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed this house. The house is very clean and well equipped. The location was great for the kids to play in the snow and to the local restaurnats and Safeway which is right around the corner. the kids really liked playing in the snow in the backyard and on the golf course the house back up to. We will definitley come back to this house as it suited all our needs and was very comfortable. This is a beutiful new home in a great location in Northlake Tahoe. I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends.
Our family had a great time staying here while visiting the Tahoe area! Our youngest two loved the bunk beds, and our teen liked having her own room. The layout and location were great. Sledding and playing in the snow was all walkable within a block from the home, and the parking in the garage kept our car snow-free. All the photos and descriptions were accurate. Very close to restaurants, Kings Beach and grocery shopping. We had a few small hiccups - the wifi information that was sent was totally incorrect (wrong network name and wrong password). We located the router and thankfully it had the network/password listed. Several items of furniture were broken/damaged (dining chairs). There were bags of trash from previous guests left in the garage. Overall this was one of our best VRBO stays, and we would definitely stay here again!
We stayed at Tiger Chalet for several
days after Christmas. The cabin has a lot of space. The kitchen/ family room is very cosy. The furniture is very comfortable. Everything is well maintained and the kitchen is stocked with a lot of dishes and pots/pans. We made dinner at the cabin each night and that worked out great. The Safeway is right down the street and there are many ski resorts nearby. There wasn’t much snow on the ground when we were there. But we went skiing at Mt Rose and there were plenty of open runs. Tahoe Dave’s was amazing to rent skis. We just rented for the day with the option to keep our equipment for another day. Northstar was fun to visit for nightlife in the evening. It’s nice having the lake close by. Definitely recommend!

I was really disappointed about the condition of the house. It was surface clean. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets. The furniture was really broken, and the couch has never met a vacuum. The toilet broke while we were there which was no surprise as it was held together with garbage bag ties. I really wanted to enjoy this house considering the great location, but the house is just not maintained.

Has some issues
The house is comfortable but we had major issues with hot water. The hot water shuts off in all the showers within minutes. We could not figure out how or why this was happening but it was such an inconvenience. Also it would have been nice to have a real burning fireplace while in the mountains. Given the fact that this home is of relatively new construction I am surprised that the house has an electric fireplace in the living room. Overall, nice, but I would not rent this house again.

Sorry you had issue during your stay. I wish you had contacted me so that the issues can be resolved during your stay. The truth is this house was built as a "green and environmentally friendly" house. We take a lot of pride in it. The subradiant floor heating, tankless water heater, gas-burning fireplace are all part of the features. With tankless water heater, the hot water supply is by demand. You may experience sudden hot water loss, very infrequently though. When that happens, all you need to do is to turn off the water, wait for 2-3 seconds, and turn it back on. The hot water will come back right away. As for fireplace, it is a full gas-burning fireplace, not electric one. It is effective in heating, yet protects the environment.
Great spot, lots of amenities, but could use some improvements
Had a great weekend here with some girlfriends, however, tragedy almost struck when the curtain rod in the downstairs bathroom fell when one of us was in the shower. Luckily nobody was gravely injured, but head injuries, especially in the shower, are pretty bad news & could really ruin a weekend. The pantry & fridge had lots of partially used stuff that was handy (coffee, tea, flour, sugar, mayo, white wine, ketchup). However, there were lots of lightbulbs out (above the master bathroom tub-again a safety issue) & some under the kitchen cabinets. The hot water was only lukewarm in the master shower, which was unfortunate because then we had to use the shower downstairs with the broken curtain rod. The owner responded eventually, saying the downstairs shower was an odd size & that it’s been an issue for a while, evidenced by the fact that it had previously been glued back together, but they sell multiple sized tension rods on amazon, so I’m not sure it was that hard to fix. The toilet paper holder in the same bathroom also came out of the wall, so the downstairs bathroom definitely needs some help. Overall, the place itself was great, I’m just disappointed we paid so much per night because there were definitely some improvements needed for such a high rental rate.

Not as Described!! Go Somewhere Else!
This is NOT a “spotlessly clean,” “luxury” chalet with a hot tub. When rented, we limited the search to properties with hot tubs; this had that box checked. It does NOT have a hot tub, but there's one between it and the neighbor’s house. When the neighbors partied in it late one night, we knew it wasn't ours. To compensate, our host asked if we wanted them to ask the neighbors if we could go in their hot tub. We declined (think Saltburn bath). The property does have two small jacuzzi-style bathtubs. The listing also had a game room with a pool table, but no room or table exists. Additionally, the counters were smeared with grease, scuff marks on the walls were patched but not repainted and then scuffed over again, there was dirt on the entryway bench and floor, a mirror was cracked and taped over, the cabinets in the kitchen were misaligned, Teflon-scratched pans filled the cupboards, the kitchen faucet leaked and was stuck in spray mode, faucets in the bathroom leaked at the base, hairballs were brushed under the rug in the bathroom, a half-ripped open box of Valentine's chocolates was left out, and one of the rooms had broken blinds and no privacy. The house isn't bad, but it's fallen into disrepair. Though apologies were given, no compensation was offered; we still had to pay a $300 cleaning fee, a non-refundable $59 damage fee, and a refundable $500 deposit. There are far better, more honestly described properties around the lake with hot tubs that cost less: go there!

Hi Jen,
VRBO has been trying to contact you about this review. Could you please call them at 1-877-202-4291? They want to clarify with you the content of the listing.
We will do everything we can to make sure the listing does not mislead you or our future guests in believing there is a outdoor hot tub. As for other things you complained: we could not find anywhere that says "pool table." As for other things you mentioned, it is customer built new home in 2009 and we takes a lot of pride in owning this vacation home. While we are keeping up with the highest standard that this house can offer, I recognize things may break here and there. I will for sure do a walk through during Spring cleaning. We have guests who appreciated this house and told us this is the best vacation home they ever stayed. I am sorry this house is not up to your standard.

King’s Beach house
The house is in a very nice location being a short drive to King’s Beach and sits just off the beautiful Old Brockway Golf Course in the midst of countless tall pines. The home could use some TLC to rise to the occasion that the location provides. The railing for the upstairs deck was loose and seemed unsafe so our young kids did not get to enjoy the deck as much as we would have hoped. The table umbrella only provided some shade to a deck that was sunny most of the day, while the well shaded yard did not have any table or sitting area. These may not typically be an issue with the customarily perfect weather, but we visited during a particularly hot time for the area, and without an air conditioner (and only one small fan indoors) we were looking for escapes from the heat in the shady/breezy areas. Ceiling fans would also be a welcome addition for the warmer times, but we understand that this may not the norm in this area and could be costly. Additionally, the fence separating the yard from the neighbors yard had fallen down, so did not provide any privacy or safety for our kids to play. We’ve been lucky to stay at a number of VRBO houses and have come to expect certain creature comforts, some of which, like a blender, working cable/satellite (the dish had swung to point down) and wine opener, were lacking. We did appreciate the beach chairs and beach toys that were at the house, and understand these types of things are never guaranteed. With a bit of work and investment in some small, but important, items around the house, this could be a wonderful place to stay for many families to come.

Hi Jessica,
As I said in the email to you two days ago, I just had a deck expert inspected the railing. Although no major issues are found, we have decided to re-enforce all the posts and double the railing cap. I take your feedback seriously and safety is on top of everything.
Please also allow me to address your other feedbacks:
1) Table umbrella: point taken. Usually I don't like a huge umbrella to block the open view of the golf course. But I do understand Tahoe had more hot days than usual.
2) Ceiling fan/AC: Tahoe houses usually do not have those. Ceiling fans are not consistent with the newer style of the house. I will see how the weather/global warming goes and may consider A/C next year. For the time being I have ordered another fan to be installed.
3) Neighbor's fence: The fence was installed by previous owner of the neighbor's house. The new neighbor and I do prefer the openness and we decided not to install the new fence.
4) Working cable: Wifi internet and live streaming has replaced the DISH. We don't plan to subscribe DISH service. It is also our intention to encourage the guests to go out enjoy Tahoe rather than watching TV's a lot.
5) Kitchen amenities: We have 2 wine openers in the kitchen. Sorry you did not see it. As for other things I spent a lot of effort in providing high quality and sufficient Dishes/Silverware/Cups/Pots and pans and anything I can think of a vacationing family may need to use to cook and to dine, for I like to cook during my vacation. Thanks for the suggestion of a blender.
I appreciate your comments and hope you did have a good stay.
Regards,
Shumay

OK but stayed in better
This was the second home we have stayed in up in North Lake Tahoe. The description was accurate, the owners were responsive, but we had some issues that tainted our vacation. The distance to King's Beach is 1 mile but still too far to carry your needed items for a day at the beach so you end up driving anyway. The Safeway grocery store was conveniently located 0.7 miles away. The large living room/dining area and kitchen was great for family time while cooking and eating. We had continuous issues with getting hot water for a shower. After 1-2 minutes it would go completely cold and we would have to shut it off and wait for a couple minutes. Sometimes it came back on but there were several times it did not and we had to either finish with a cold shower or reset the instant hot water device.
We travelled with 4 teenager boys and had no cable for 6 out of the 7 days we were there. I had to meet with the cable company 4 times (one of which they never showed) and spent a couple hours on the phone with them over the week. I understand this was not in the owner's control, but I would have appreciated compensation for the time I spent getting them their new cable hardware and equipment. We were offered a free night but I would not stay in this home again.
Another issue was the road noise. Very loud all night so having the windows open for fresh mountain air was not an option without ear plugs to sleep. There were also heavy smokers in the house next to us and every time we opened a window the house was filled with cigarette smoke.
The cookware was old and the non-stick coatings were flaking off into the food so we were limited on what pans we could use. Some of the pans still had food on them from previous renter's use. The outside table was caked with old food and took about 20 minutes to get clean upon our arrival.
The house was OK but not nearly as nice as the one we stayed in the previous summer so we will go back to that one for our future vacations.
My group, 3 adults and 2 kids, stayed in this beautiful home for 7 nights and absolutely loved it. There was more than enough space for everyone and the location is awesome. You are walking distance to Kings Beach, restaurants and even Safeway! My family and I would definitely consider staying here again.

About the host
Hosted by tiger chalet
After spending vacations every year in Tahoe with the family, we just dreamed of owning a wood chalet so that we can come more often. My memory is often filled with the scene sitting with my wife ashore watching kids playing on sandy beach surrounded by the endless beauty of Lake Tahoe. That fresh air in the forest purifies the mind and soul. Now you can share our dream in this brand new house that has every thing a vacation deserves except price.
Why they chose this property
This house has many activities close by. Walk to Kings Beach State Park and a short drive away from carnelian bay, centrally located to ski resorts such as Northstar (5 min), Squaw Valley, Diamond Peak, etc. It is adjacent to the 3rd T of Brockway golf course, and North Tahoe Regional Park with easy access to many walking and biking trails. Safeway grocery store and many great restaurants are a few blocks away.
What makes this property unique
The house has wonderful open floor design. Alderwood trim and cabinet throughout makes you feel welcomed in a luxury mountain retreat. Radiant floor heating, gourmet kitchen and tasteful decorated rooms offer all the comfort and luxury of a new Lake Tahoe vacation home.
