Our family (including two small children) loved living here as our primary residence for 2+ years. Great, with a few issues.
Very clean and accommodating. Inside is beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed the older charm of the house. The door lock is complicated. I never did fully figure it out and had difficulty every time. Hurt my manliness, lol. The sofa bed sheet did not fit and had to make due until the next day when sheets that fit were provided. We indicated in the reservation that we had 9 guests. But there were towels for 6. We had to make due until more towels were provided the next day. None of these things would prevent me from renting again. I would just check right away if everything is in order before night time falls.

Fantastic Home
We rented this home for a couple of weeks and it was perfect for our needs. Home was clean when we arrived. Bedrooms were large and comfortable. Lots of time went into updating it while keeping the feel of an early 1900’s home. Host were great to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed. We could not have been happier.

Quick family get away before the Spring semester at LU
We loved our stay at your home. We love history and to be in the midst of the homes of Federal Hill was an unexpected pleasure! We loved walking our dog through the streets, admiring the homes, imagining what they were like in their heyday, and letting our imagination run wild on what it would be like to buy up all the neglected homes and restore them to their full glory. While out walking, a gentleman was gracious enough to stop and chat with us and share so much history that it enhanced our walks. The home was cozy and well-appointed. We loved that the tree was still up and we were able to enjoy the ambience of it. Thank you for a lovely get-away, The Fillman family

Wonderful stay
Our stay was great! The touches inside the house were amazing. The neighborhood was a little scary at night while walking the dogs. We ended up staying real close to the house, where it was well lit. Otherwise, amazing and would recommend!! Big and spacious for all we needed.

Hello! I’m Kate, and I’m a local here in Lynchburg. We love living in this “oversized small town,” and spend our days working with college students on local campuses. When I’m not making sure Harrison House is the *dreamiest* space for you to enjoy, you’ll find us enjoying the parks and trails downtown with our small children. Can’t wait for you to see the enjoy all that this place has to offer with Harrison House as your home base. Can’t wait to host you!

Why they chose this property

My family and I bought Harrison House in 2019. It had GLORIOUS bones but needed quite a bit of work. With the help of a contractor, we renovated this Victorian Beauty down to the studs. The original wood floors, woodwork, trim, etc remain. Everything else (including all systems) is new!

We lived here with our family for two years until we moved across town! We are so thrilled and privileged to host others in our beloved historic home.

What makes this property unique

Step back into time (early 20th century) while enjoying all the conveniences and amenities of 2022.
