Nestled in the quaint boomtown of Dunnellon. Walking distance to the Rainbow River and ALL of Dunnellon's amenities. The neighbors refer to it as "The long white house that keeps on going..." Don't be deceived by its duplex looking appearance, it is a single family residence. All the space & comforts of home with the amenities of a resort. Spread out in this 1900sf home that can sleep 15 comfortably. Splash in the swimspa pool under the covered pergola on the large back patio. Roast marshmallows in the firepit or grill out on the grill. Soak in the deep jetted tub after hitting the in home gym. Plenty of room in the kitchen to cook together and plan your day trips. With a TV in every room everyone should be able to find something to watch in the evenings as you wind down. Desks in 2 rooms provide workspace for those that need to work. Adventure awaits no further in 30 min in any direction. To the West is Crystal River where you can swim with the manatees and relax on our local gulf beach at Fort Island Beach. 30 min East is Ocala, The Horse Capital of the World! See some of the world's Champions Ride and compete at The World Equestrian Center (The WEC). Ocala hosts ample shopping and dining opportunities as well. 30min North is Williston, Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens & Devils Den spring are worth the drive! The adventure is endless.

Dunnellon gem

Girls weekend at The World Equestrian Center… this location was fantastic. Close enough to enjoy both Ocala and Dunnellon! The Rainbow river is close by and there is ton of great things in this area of Florida.

The property and neighborhood were cute. KP hole ends in walking distance from the house. I sadly missed in the description that the swim spa heater was broke (hot tub was the MAIN reason I booked this particular property), it was also so WAY over chlorinated that it bleached my kids bathing suit in the 1st 5mins of our stay with overwhelming smell, and it was unusable due to that issue. HUGE disappointment :-(. Owner was very helpful and responsive with questions. 2 rooms were a bit smaller than expected. Would recommend for the location, but with the understanding that that swimspa is useless. Clean and tidy home with lots of kitchen necessities.

Rainbow River Trip

Had a great stay, tha nearby park and river entrance seemed a little sketchy for the young ones to be in, but we headed right over to the Rainbow River State Park and had a great time. The house was very comfortable with adequate space for even. As the owner mentioned it's an older house, but was still pleasant. Comfy beds.

Smelly River Trip 2023

House location is good, size good, but carpet needs to GO, spots and smells like cat piss. I went and bought Odorban and Febreez helped a little. Some smell could be the warped floor in hallway. The jet tub is an hour process fill up add bleach, run, add hot water still smells like Sulphur (rotten eggs) not worth the time. Large spa/jacuzzi/pool doesn't get warm but does work. Getting rid of carpet #1. We payed for pets but didn't bring any thank God!

Why they chose this property

This home has been our primary residence for the last 6 years. We have loved every minute in it and just wish to share all it has to offer with you. We have worked hard to get it to the state it is in now and the work of the homeowner never ends. We love the uniqueness of the layout and it has a wonderful local history.
It used to be located just North of Dunnellon in what was once a military base used to train pilots for WWII. When the base was decommissioned the house was sold and relocated to it's current location. It was originally a large one bedroom that housed military members. The room with the 3 queen beds would have had several "racks" or bunk beds that would have been used to sleep as many servicemen as possible. The other 2 rooms, bathroom with jetted tub and laundry room was a 2 car garage at one point and was added to the main house via the space we use as a home gym. The home gym was a breezeway. We hope you'll enjoy the charm and character of our home.
