Property Should Not Be Listed

1 days before we were to leave, trying to contact property owner for instructions upon arrival, we were told the "property had been sold over a year ago" and there were people living in the house. We had paid over $6,000 for a month's stay. I contacted VRBO, they confirmed that property had been sold and offered to find us another place within the next 72+ hours. Too much hassle, we canceled the trip and VRBO did refund our money. However, the property is still listed as a possible rental on their site. I have contacted VRBO to get the property unlisted but no response. How many people will have the same experience?
