Little Hickory Top - Mountain Side Modern Cabin

Welcome to Little Hickory Top Cabin. Named after the mountain it overlooks, this beautiful new modern cabin is perched on a ridge facing Bent Creek Experimental Forest. Convenient location offers easy access to all that Asheville has to offer. Find rest and recharge with beautiful views from every room, and a great deck to grill from.

This modern cabin is warm and welcoming with beautiful features throughout, including large timber framed ceilings and stairs. The home is three stories with a common area on the main floor and bedrooms on the upper and lower. It is EcoStar certified and was featured in the 2020 Asheville Parade of Homes!

The home is nestled in a quite cove behind Bent Creek Experimental Forest and Enka Lake. There is access into the forest less then a mile away while still convenient to the city. 20 minutes to downtown Asheville, Biltmore Estate, and the main entrance to Bent Creek. 30 Minutes from the Airport and Sierra Nevada. If you enjoy mountain biking and want to explore some classic Pisgah loops you are 40 minutes from the entrance to the Ranger District.

The easiest way to get around is by car, the home is located in a mountain side neighborhood with paved roads and drive way, accessible by any vehicle. The roads and drive way are steep so please take extra precaution in inclement weather or at night.

For those interested in working remote or needing connectivity the home has 400Mbps cable internet service and a Orbi Mesh router to ensure good WiFi throughout the house. Cell signal is also great, with LTE and 5G on both Verizon and T-Mobile.

If you are bringing little ones we have a pack n play (with sheets), baby gates, kids dinnerware, and a baby/toddler carrier hiking backpack! We have three young kids so if you need anything in advance let us know!

It's everything you want

This "cabin" is beautiful and clean. The views are amazing and the deck is an awesome place to relax and take them in. The fire pit area is very nicely done by an artisan and lovely to look at as well as sit by the fire on crisp nights and star gaze. The split of one bedroom being up and another being down with the main floor in between is ideal for 2 couples staying together. Great location is close to both hiking and downtown, I needed many more days here. Thank you!

Outstanding views

Property was clean and full of amenities. Exactly as advertised. Great views from multiple locations in and on the property. Owners are very thoughtful and were easy to communicate with. Driveway is a bit on the steep side and we elected to back down it in our 2500 pick up truck. We will be planning to come back and enjoy the property again in the next year.

My favorite VRBO I’ve stayed in!

This place was beautiful!! The view from the back deck was amazing! It was super clean and comfortable beds. All the details the host put into this place really shows! It literally has everything we needed. Plenty of baby/kid items, trash bags, soap, laundry detergent. I don’t have one negative thing to say!

Hi from the mountains of North Carolina near Asheville where we live and play with our three kids; Hayley, Graham, and Colin. Becca is a CPA turned stay at home mom and Austin is a mechanical engineer. We enjoy hiking, mountain biking, camping, craft beer and good food! As tourists we love to explore new areas and experience the outdoors, as hosts we welcome you to our city and share what we love about Asheville and why we call it home.

Many years ago we honeymooned in Asheville and never wanted to leave! About a year afterwards we packed everything and headed back to the mountains to build our future and raise a family. We have always dreamed of sharing homes as hosts and now have two places in the Asheville area. Becca and I share the account and will be your contacts during your stay! These are our homes and we take great pride in them, their cleanliness, and making sure you have a great stay. We are new to the VRBO platform but are established super hosts on AirBnB with a 5 star rating from our guests!

Why they chose this property

We love this cabin because its tucked back in Reeves Cove overlooking one of our favorite places, Bent Creek. Its close to town and everything you need but you feel far away. The cove makes it very quiet and an awesome place to just sit on the deck, relax, and enjoy the view. We also love the energy efficiency and style of the home. The combination of ecopanel construction and timber frame is cozy and environmentally conscious.
