Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the cozy feel of the house and the convenient location. It’s wonderful to hear that communication felt smooth throughout your stay. We appreciate you choosing our place and would love to host you again anytime!
This cute little bungalow was so perfectly appointed for a weekend lodging while we attended a seminar in the daytime. Clean and comfortable linens, bed, couch (would have been comfy to sleep on if we needed it). All amenities needed in the bathroom and kitchen for fixing the meals we had in (breakfast and heating up leftovers on Sunday), coffee and tea. I'm familiar with this neighborhood and chose it on purpose for proximity to Durham restaurants on foot and by car close to downtown, as well as enjoying a morning walk in the area. Also happy to have strong wifi for streaming needs. I could see bringing me dog to stay here with me another time!

Super cozy, charming home in a cute, walkable, safe neighborhood. My dogs were thrilled to get to walk everywhere. The home is in an ideal location, close to stores and restaurants.Everything was very clean with lots of amenities. It had everything I needed for my stay. It's clear the owner has put thought into making this a welcoming and comfortable place to stay. The owner is wonderful about communication and providing an easy check in process.I will definitely book this home again. I especially loved the cute front porch.

Thank you so much, Cody! We’re thrilled to hear you and your dogs enjoyed the walkable neighborhood and that the home felt welcoming and comfortable for your stay. It means a lot to know the amenities, communication, and easy check-in made a positive impression. We’re especially glad you loved the front porch — it’s one of our favorite spots too! We’d love to host you again anytime.
This property was described as a cozy bungalow. In actuality it was a duplex. It is an old multi family unit that has not been updated. The electric outlet has an adapter with several plugs coming out of it…fire hazard?? The evidence of mice. And the stench of cigarette smoke. Not acceptable.

Thank you for your feedback. We take all guest concerns seriously, but we do need to clarify several inaccuracies in this review.
First, the property is indeed a duplex, and this is clearly disclosed in multiple places within the listing description. Unfortunately, VRBO does not provide a specific “duplex” category, so the property is listed as a home, with explicit written clarification to ensure transparency for all guests.
Regarding the claims about smoke odor, mice, and electrical hazards—these statements are simply not accurate. The home is regularly cleaned and inspected, and there has been no evidence of pests or lingering smoke odor. The outlet mentioned includes a standard adapter provided for guest convenience, not an unsafe or overloaded setup.
It’s also worth noting that none of these concerns were brought to our attention during the stay, which would have allowed us the opportunity to address them immediately if they had been valid.
We understand that plans can change, but we strive to represent our property honestly and provide a comfortable experience for all guests. We encourage future guests to review the full listing details to ensure the space meets their expectations.
This was the second time we have stayed in this property. It is a great little place, in a great neighborhood. We will certainly stay there again when we come to the Durham area
Wonderful stay at Clarendon B bungalow. Nice neighborhood. Brought pups and they enjoyed the location for great walks. Met sons and were able to have dinner with them there. Great to have full + kitchen.
The kitchen was good. I did not have pets. The kitchen area did not have heat.

Place was so cute and close to Duke Medical school, which was our destination while in NC. Place was good for no more than 3 adults comfortably but will definitely stay again! Host was extremely communicative and responsive, which is huge when traveling to another state. Place was clean and easy to get Ubers or DoorDash dropped off.
This property is really great. Very cozy and clean with an awesome front porch (we had coffee out there every morning). Perfect for our quick stay and close to Duke. The neighborhood is fantastic and walking distance to Broad St & Ninth St. Highly recommend for anyone & we will surely come back. Thank you!
It was a very pleasant stay nice quiet neighborhood cleansing us was awesome and availability to communicate with Andrea was awesome well definitely look forward to staying there again. Thank you so much. Have a great summer.
Old house and rejuvenated but clean. Served well for 2 nights. The place is a bit dim and dark. Quiet. Mattress needs replaced in my opinion. I would stay again.
Property was super clean and stocked with everything you would need. The property is an older home duplex but the finishes had a updated, modern feel. Host was quick to respond and reached out to make sure we had everything we needed. My only non-5 star goes to neighborhood/location, as it is in an older neighborhood downtown containing some renovated houses and some not (as is most of downtown Durham). We were close to everything and felt safe the entire time . Would rent here again. :)
Quiet place and neighborhood. 20 minute walk to Duke’s East Campus bus, Whole Foods, and restaurants. Very responsive management.

I am a pharmacist at Duke Hospital who stumbled into the world of property management and real estate. It all began when I started renting out my personal properties as short-term rentals. I quickly fell in love with managing properties and interacting with guests, which led me to obtain my real estate license. As my passion for this field grew, I expanded my services to manage other people's properties as well. The business became so busy that I had to reduce my hours at Duke Hospital to dedicate more time to it. I am deeply passionate about traveling and exploring different properties and areas, which fuels my love for this profession even more. I am dedicated to providing exceptional service to both property owners and guests, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all involved.
