Nearby Adventures
One of my favorite local spots is 11 Mile Canyon, just a short drive from the property. I visit almost daily with my dog, Rio — it’s perfect for hiking, fishing, and exploring with dogs. The views over the river valley and canyon are breathtaking and showcase the region’s natural beauty.

Right beside the property are the Florissant Fossil Beds, a wonderful place to explore. Walking among the massive petrified stumps, you can imagine what Florissant looked like long ago when towering redwood trees thrived here. You can even find fossil right here on the property! The Fossil Beds are also within a certified Dark Sky area, so whether you’re relaxing by the fire pit or taking an evening stroll, the night skies are absolutely breathtaking. Our property is designed for guests who appreciate the blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Whether you want to relax in solitude with breathtaking views of Crystal Peak, get active on mountain trails, or spend quality time with loved ones around a campfire, this home base offers it all.
You’ll experience privacy and tranquility in the home itself with plenty of room to roam, while still enjoying the unique character of a property in active stewardship.
Important Notes About the Property
This is an active, working property where I — along with my dog, Rio — am often onsite tending the land and pursuing our vision of a sustainable and regenerative farm. Our work focuses on native plant species, native grass restoration, and supporting pollinators, especially birds.
During the high season (May–September), we may also host a small number of glampers or RV guests elsewhere on the acreage. While the house itself always remains fully private for your stay, you may notice some activity on other parts of the property. Many guests find that this adds to the character of the experience and offers a unique connection to the land.

About Me
Growing up surrounded by the beauty of rural landscapes, I’ve always felt a deep connection to nature. The crisp mountain air, towering pines, and stunning vistas inspire me every day. I’m passionate about outdoor adventures like rafting down roaring rivers and spending quiet mornings fishing in peaceful mountain streams. These experiences remind me to slow down and appreciate the simple joys of life.
Gardening is another love of mine—there’s something incredibly rewarding about nurturing plants and watching them grow. That passion inspired me to create a vibrant market garden right here on the property, where guests are welcome to pick fresh vegetables during the season and enjoy the fruits of the land (please reach out for a YouPick session).
I created this retreat to share the magic of the mountains and the joy of the outdoors with others. Whether you’re here to explore the trails, relax by the fire, or simply soak in the views, I hope you feel the same peace and wonder that I do every time I’m here.
Welcome to my mountain home—I’m excited to help make your stay unforgettable!

Why I Chose This Property
This property holds a very special place in my heart. I chose it because it offers a unique opportunity to live in harmony with nature and honor the ancestral practices that once flourished here. Developing this land has been a labor of love—a journey that connects me deeply to the earth, the mountains, and the history that surrounds us.
Every day, I enjoy working on this land, whether it’s tending to the garden, caring for the native plants, or maintaining the trails that weave through the property. It’s not just about building a retreat; it’s about creating a sanctuary where guests can feel connected to the natural world, just as I do.
I dream of establishing a thriving orchard and vineyard here someday. These projects take time, patience, and a lot of hard work, but I’m committed to making that vision a reality.
