About this property

Ananda Vue- Lux 3BR/2BA hygge Villa w Fireplace and VIEWS!

The History

Designed by modernist architect Ulrich Franzen in 1965 and recently renovated to capture Franzen's modernist approach, the flow of the Villa's multi-level and descends four floors in a spiral. It also presents a flexible layout, a skylit, an open main floor, and a vaulted-ceiling loft. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and it can comfortably sleep 7-8 guests.

The estate is part of a four-home co-op that owns and maintains the 10 acres. So there are three other "condos" buildings, but no walls intersect with them, except for a mudroom. The land around the co-op is called the Upwey Meadow Area, and the Upwey Valley Trust has purchased Trails to preserve the land area around the house so that no industrialization will occur. We can keep our beautiful meadows and gorgeous mountain views.

Bright, comfortable luxury in rural Vermont
My husband and I stayed at this stunning modern home in rural South Woodstock for 6 weeks. This bright, airy, spotless home suited us perfectly. We loved cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, and eating on the large deck while the sun set over the mountains. The memory-foam mattresses and high-quality linens made the beds super-comfortable. The owners were immediately responsive to any requests and were thoughtful in stocking the house with needed items. We loved being surrounded by nature but within a few miles of historic and charming Woodstock, with its restaurants and shops. We hope to return to this perfect home.
