Christmas Visit During 2022 Winter Storm

My family & I stayed in this lovely Boone, NC home over Christmas weekend 2022. The home is lovely with beautiful updates/decorating. The owners even put up a Christmas tree & Christmas decorations, which was a nice surprise. There was more than enough room for my husband & two kids. Initially, when we booked the property, we had planned for my parents & brother to join us, but they were scared off by the winter storm. The kids loved the ping-pong table. We had no problems navigating the winding mountain road up to the property or the driveway despite the snow (we were driving a Subaru Forester). We were happy we never lost power or internet in the home (our own home back in Durham, NC did not fare as well). When you are at the house, it feels like you have an entire mountainside to yourself, but the property is actually very close to all the major sites--only five minutes from Tweetsie & about 10 minutes from Appalachian Ski Mountain. Unfortunately, we did not really get to enjoy the hot tub, fire pit, or wraparound porch with great views due to the extreme, sub-zero cold. These would have been great features at any other time of the year. We generally visit the Boone/Blowing Rock area once a year during either the winter or spring. This was our first time staying in this home, but would definitely stay again during a future visit.

We love the mountains and can't imagine a better place to live. 3 young kids strong our family is always up for a chance to get outside. We love to host people visiting here!

Why they chose this property

We lived (and loved) at this home for 4 years. We built a house in town that was better suited but this home will always hold our hearts. It's very close to town, but quietly removed from the hustle. Lots of space, and beautifully decorated.

What makes this property unique

Close to town with lots of great mountain house amenities including a landscaped firepit, hot tub, game room, and lots of outdoor decking to enjoy the mountain climate.
