Little Whitefish Resort has 8 total cabins all on the lake and is a perfect "Up North" escape. Each cozy cabin has its own unique decor and layout so you can find the right one that fits your vacation needs (This is cabin 7 for booking reference). We also have a cafe/bar on-site for delicious meals and drinks, so you can enjoy more of your vacation to do what you want and spend less of it cooking. If you do prefer to cook, each cabin has a charcoal grill and fully equipped kitchen.
Since the 1950’s guests of all sorts have visited this small, rustic, lakefront resort for a fun family getaway, girls/guys weekend trip, relaxing vacation away from home, or for those master (or novice) fishermen looking for a great bite. Little Whitefish Lake is best known for its large Crappies, Sunnies, Northern, Bass and Walleye. This resort has the only public boat launch on the lake.
If fishing isn't your main focus, water sports are also welcomed! Jet ski, water tube/ski, and kayaking are perfect ways to use the lake as well. Cruising the lake is enjoyable as you come into contact with wildlife. Loons, birds, and if you're lucky, even deer and bears taking a drink on shore can be seen! Sunsets are phenominal and a great way to end a lake day. Come back to one of our firepits to roast some s'mores and wind down (firewood included).
An easy 90 min drive from Minneapolis/ St. Paul makes this location easily accessible and the best of both lake worlds. On one hand you have the 2nd largest Minnesotan lake (Mille Lacs) 1 mile drive down the road, and on the other you have a peaceful hidden gem right in your backyard! Staying on a small lake provides great boating conditions, or you can conveniently head down the road to the Big Pond (Mille Lacs) when the weather's permitting. We are also right on ATV/snowmobile trails, a short drive to Northwood Hills Golf Course, Kathio State Park, 10 minutes from Garrison, and a 5 minute drive to Grand Casino Mille Lacs.
A dock space is included with your stay (bring your own boat or rent one at our resort-advanced notice needed). We also have an onsite fish cleaning house for you to clean your fish and grill it up right at your cabin's own outdoor charcoal grill. Kayaks, 2 paddle boats, paddle board, and aluminum row boats are also included - first come first serve.
Cabin 7 may receive a beach-inspired update this summer, with the interior wood walls painted white or beige to create a lighter, coastal feel. We are continually improving the property, so updates are ongoing. As a result, décor and finishes may differ from the photos as we make enhancements.

Was what you would expect when you think of a cabin. Not to fancy but nice. Had a couple issues with not having a fire pit, a loud fan, and the lock not working. The owners were very attentive through and got everything taken care of very quickly. The communication was amazing! The only complaint is that the cabin was very warm especially on our first day. There is an air conditioner but it is in the living room and not quite enough power to cool the whole cabin.

Liked: Location
It was ok
A little TLC could go a very long way at this
Property. Upon arrival the cabin was full of flies.
There was one very dirty ac unit and it only worked on 1 setting. Lots of spider webs (kitchen, shower)
Very dusty under the beds. Shower head was terribly rusted. There is a hole in the wall of the cabin near the ac which could be the source of the flies. Bees were flying into a hole where the bathroom and porch met
Lots of junk and very tall weeds around the property.
Easy lake access and a cafe with food drink and alcohol was conveniently located. Quiet resort
Family oriented. May come back again
To see if things cleaned up.

Thanks for your feedback. We will take a look at where you said there are holes and repair immediately as we were not aware. The “weeds” are actually wild rice so cannot be touched unless given proper permits which we are working on with the DNR :) We are new owners and have done a ton with the property so far, but always looking to improve things as we go. Specifically in your cabin, we replaced the whole cabinet and countertop in the kitchen from an old run-down one with no storage and put doors on the bedrooms.
