The Anderson cabin was everything we were hoping it to be; rustic north-woods atmosphere with modern amenities. It was very clean and comfortable with a quiet neighborhood feel. The sunsets are amazing from the back deck! Be prepared for a little driving to local attractions and restaurants if that is what you are looking for. Appreciated that pets are welcome here. Sandra is an amazing host. We hope to make it back to this gem!
The only downside about this cabin is that the lake was too weedy to swim in off the dock or shore. The cabin itself is so cozy and we loved its charm! Would have been better if we had a boat!
Our girls weekend was great! The cabin worked fantastic for the 4 of us!! Very clean and the awesome towels & linens offered were a plus! Definitely will be back.
We loved every minute. From the start finding the kitchen was stocked with the staples and well equipped. Living room very comfortable making it easy to watch tv when we weren’t sitting on the shaded deck relaxing and enjoying the view and the quiet. Wish we could include a picture of the sunset. Slept like a rock on extremely comfortable bed.
It is close enough to Brainerd that you don’t have to cook if you don’t want to.
My family of 3 stayed at this cabin for a few days for a quiet getaway - it was perfect. Beautiful lakeside view & dock for fishing. The cabin was very clean with plenty of room and wonderful amenities. Very nice and quiet neighborhood. Great activities and places to eat in the area. Communication for checkin was great with fast response.
All was as listed in the description. Sandra was responsive and accommodating to me and my wife. Good location close to Brainerd and Baxter yet tucked away from crowds. We even found a nice path behind the cabin along the lake to walk on in the morning. Thanks for hosting Sandra
Beautifully appointed cabin, great location on lake and close to activities! We loved this place and will be back again! Thank you for hosting such a beautiful place!
We enjoyed staying at The Anderson Cabin. View is great. Loved having dock to keep our boat at all week. (Boat Launch nice and close-easily accessible). Lots of weeds, so not a swimming area at all. We caught bass, northern sand crappies.
Cabin had mostly everything we needed. Steep hill could be hard for some to manage.
We went for a week after our wedding for a mini moon and the cabin was clean and so nice! Right on the lake, great yard, deck and fire pit! Comfy bed, kitchen had small appliances and everything we needed! We so enjoyed our time, thank you!

Cabin, not as clean as some would want.
If others are going to be staying at the Anderson Cabin, they will want to make sure they bring their own supplies. The cabins that we have rented in the past have had the essentials like kleenix, toilet paper, napkins, and actually more things. The only thing this cabin had in it was two rolls of toilet paper. When I contacted the property manager and asked if there was any more in the cabin somewhere we weren't looking. The only reply we got was, "No I am sorry." The carpeted floors also seemed wet and sticky. Otherwise, everything was what one would expect. We had to go into town and get a lot of things.
We just love our time at the cabin. Our dog relaxes and loves it too. Sandra was beyond accommodating during our stay. We had some unique circumstances pop up and she was compassionate and understanding and generous, which made the stressful time much easier.
I’m an engineer so this is going to be a bulleted list:
1) A big cabin and one of the best I’ve lived in and we do many.
2) our dog loved it and she gets uneasy in smaller spaces.
3) the washer dryer was a blessing and we used it to wash our directly clothes after the lake and hiking
4) the two full sized beds were great and comfortable. I used it when my wife kicked me out of the bedroom snoring :)
5) the kitchen was heavily stocked with coffee ,condiments and a lot of dishes. Dishwasher would have been nice but hey it’s a cabin so no worries
5) very personalized space which gives his Anderson’s cabin a great Lake house effect.
6) there was a doggie gate on the deck and our dog spent a lot of time on it and we didn’t have to worry. She of course spent a lot of time in the lake.
Overall a great stay and would love to come back. Thanks Sandra
Our grandfather Clarence Anderson bought this cabin in the early 1950s. It has been renovated and passed down three generations.
What makes this property unique
Love sitting on the deck and listening to the loons and watching the sunset. Occasionally getting to see a bald eagle fly overhead but most of all I love the fishing!
