Holiday flat with water view
ED Refnr. 2543026
A beautiful flat with garden, carefully furnished, situated on the ground floor of a historical dwelling in the medieval village of Castelnuovo Magra, in a beautiful mid-hill position (180 m above sea level) on the valley of the river Magra between Lunigiana and Cinque Terre.
The accommodation is quiet and cool in summer, with a view of the sea; it overlooks a pleasant garden well equipped with table chairs umbrella and table tennis. It consists of a large double bedroom, a bedroom with two single beds, a large living room with sofa bed and a kitchen equipped with a laundry room and a balcony.
Wi-fi internet connection is available.
Parking is allowed under the house for unloading luggage and free parking is a short distance away. In the village you will find a bar, a grocery shop and a typical restaurant. You can visit the remains of the 13th-century castle where Dante Alighieri stayed and climb the recently restored tower, where photographic exhibitions are held. Also of interest is the church of S. Maria Maddalena with 'Calvary' by P.Bruegel the Younger (recently restored and currently on display in the Diocesan Museum in Sarzana) and a crucifixion by Van Dyck. The Palazzo Comunale houses the Regional Enoteca of Ligurian wines, including the vermentino from the hills of Luni.
The archaeological site of the Roman city of Luni is at the foot of the hill and very close by is the lively town of Sarzana known for its antiques (Antiques Fair and Soffitta nella Strada) and Festival della Mente. A few kilometres away you will find sandy beaches or coves among the rocks. The nearest beach is in Marinella di Sarzana and is about 8 km away. In the surroundings you can reach the beautiful villages of Lerici, Tellaro, Portovenere and the Cinque Terre. For hikers, the Apuan Alps, where the Carrara marble comes from, are nearby. Visitable on day trips are other places of great interest such as the beautiful Tuscan cities of Lucca, Pisa, Florence and also Portofino and Genoa.
