The North Shore Chalet is a charming, compact 950 sq ft home that offers a cozy space that sleeps up to 8 guests.
Sleeping Areas: we provide all linens and comfortable bedding.
- BEDROOM 1 (main level): 1 queen bed, plus a closet, luggage rack, dresser with plenty of storage (direct access to the main floor bathroom)
- BEDROOM 2 (main level): 2 twin beds, plus a dresser with ample storage and a laptop friendly work space (no closet but there is a rack to hang clothes)
- BEDROOM 3 (upper level): 1 queen bed, plus a laptop friendly work space (no closet but there is a rack to hang clothes)
- BEDROOM 4 (upper level): 2 cot size bunk beds, plus shelves of books and board games and a dresser with some storage
Bathrooms: we provide quality towels (e.g., bath towel, hand towel, wash cloth, makeup towel), premium, sustainable personal care products from Public Goods (e.g., shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hand soap), and an initial supply of toilet papers (enough for a few days).
- BATHROOM 1: full bath (bathtub)
- BATHROOM 2: 3/4 bath (standing shower)
Kitchen: fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and spices plus a charcoal grill. We also provide an initial supply of Keurig coffee pods, ground coffee, creamer, tea, condiments (e.g., ketchup, mayo, mustard), trash bags, laundry detergent pods, and paper towels. Longer stays or a large number of guests will need to bring extra.
Entertainment: enjoy our smart TV with free streaming services on us (e.g., Netflix, HBO Max, Paramount), along with a nice selection of popular movie DVDs (e.g., Harry Potter, Jurassic World, Mission Impossible). We provide some of the most popular, family-friendly board games (e.g., Ticket to Ride, Monopoly, Uno, Mini Bean Bags, Mini Foosball). In addition, a row boat and a paddle boat plus several fishing rods (in the utility closet) are available for guests to use during their stay. Lastly, in the loft area, guest can go back in time with the help of our vintage record player along with 40 handpicked music records.
Living Room/Dining Area: enjoy a great open space with vaulted ceiling and direct view of Martin Lake. Cozy around the electric fireplace for games, movies, and conversations.
Porch: there is a charcoal grill plus an ample supply of charcoals for your use, along with an outdoor dining area that seats four. At night, try keeping the porch light off, so you can stargaze from the porch or on the sandy shore.
Parking: each reservation comes with 2 parking spots in the community parking lot.
AREA: the chalet is only 6 minutes away from the closet gas station and 12 minutes drive to Gaylord, where you can find many restaurants, grocery stores, and a movie theater.
AC: summer is fairly mild in Northern Michigan. Like many homes in the region, there is no central air conditioning in the unit. That said, we do provide a portable AC unit along with 4 portable/standing fans, and we encourage guests to open the windows to help with air circulation when necessary.
WASHER/DRYER: due to septic tank limitation, there is no in-unit washer and dryer.
WATER: Due our water source coming from a well near a lake, depending on the season, the water (especially when hot) may have a sulfur smell. This is quite common for our area. Please note that the water is perfectly healthy to drink, and we do provide a gallon of spring/purified water to start plus a water purifier jug for your use.
* The chalet is located in a wooded area, so you may see and hear bugs, furry critters of all sizes (including but not limited to deer, squirrels, and rodents), and reptiles. Our property has regularly scheduled pest control, however, we cannot guarantee that any such critters will not be visible in and around the property. Please try to keep the doors closed, do not leave food outside to prevent entry of unwanted critters. Also do not feed any wildlife as they are wild animals. No refunds will be provided if a local critter visits the property.
* Children are welcome at the chalet; however, Parents should use their own discretion when booking.
* No refunds for weather/natural disasters/power outages/other things that are beyond our control.

About the host
Hosted by Jared

Hi there, my name is Jared. I purchased this chalet as my vacation home in Northern Michigan after falling in love with the charming region and the secluded/quaint Martin Lake. Whenever I visit this home, it always felt like a perfect escape, hidden away in the woods and by the peaceful water, far away from big city crowd/noises, but still very close to Gaylord (restaurants, grocery stores, movie theater) and countless tourist attractions in the area (towns, resorts, golf, ski, etc.). I want to share my home with others, so more people can enjoy what this area has to offer. I strive to provide the best guest experience possible and always welcome your suggestions/feedback. :-)
