We a great winter stay in Kings Beach. The home was very clean, spacious, and had all of the amenities that my family of 4 would need. It is conveniently located and within a 10 minute walk to the beach as well as many restaurants and shops in town. Would definitely stay again.
We visited with our family of 5 (that is an adult child and two teens!) and our very close friend and her two small children. It was a great location to walk to the main street for food and light activities. We would totally stay again!
This was a great condo in a great location. Very central. This condo had everything we needed, and it was in close proximity to everything we did while in Tahoe. Would highly recommend this condo.
We enjoyed our stay in King’s Beach! The location is within walking distance of the beach and shops. The home had plenty of space for 9 people, including a huge primary suite. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking equipment and there were plenty of towels and bedding. The host, Rachel, is friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful home, great location!
We loved our winter stay at this home and hope it is available again for our yearly snow trip. It is very clean, spacious and the kitchen is well-stocked with cooking implements. The water gets nice and hot for showers and the washer/dryer are modern and run well. The location is great- residential and quiet- but just a few blocks from restaurants, cafes, a market, etc.
Mothers in our 50’s w our daughters in their 20’s.
Paddle boarding by day and dining in the evening. Location was wonderful. Driving was optional … so we were free have an other glass 🍷 and just walk home 😊 (8 women)
5 ladies stayed. We loved how close it was to Sand Harbor, 2 casino's, Safeway and Kings Beach. They had lots of fans to keep us cool during the summer. If your going to be cooking, be prepared to bring your own spices/cooking oils otherwise there are plenty of cooking pots/pans etc..Check in was a breeze. The Livingroom furniture was very comfortable.
We really enjoyed our extended weekend stay at this house. It's very big, has a great layout, and in a great location - close to everything but a quiet area. The house is very clean. A definite value. My only concern is the cookware needs some updating. The non-stick coating is peeling off, so that was our only challenge.

Thanks for the valuable input - we added new cookware to the house.
The house was great! Very comfortable. Clean. Had everything we needed. It was nice to have the garage to store our paddle boards. The best part was that it was walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The only negatives were the lack of outdoor space, and the water heater- We had to reset it once because we weren't getting any hot water, but it really wasn't a big deal. Would definitely stay there again!
The condo is in a great location, within walking distance to shopping and an excellent coffee shop (Javahut). The neighbors are friendly and our dogs made some new friends. We were on a ski vacation and it was a short 20 minute drive to Mt. Rose. Hiking was only 10 mins away.
The condo was very comfortable and was well equipped.
Communication with the owner was EXCELLENT, they were always quick to respond.
Great place to stay and we will definitely be back for another ski vacation.
There were only two issues, one being the fridge not cold, second very very few bath towels. We brought lots beach towels. The walk to the beach was easy, the kitchen was well furnished. The fans came in handy.

Thank you for your review Darlene. We were able to have the fridge serviced after your stay and found out it was simple adjustment in the freezer on the recommended settings. When turned to the coldest setting it shuts off the cold air circulating to the fridge. Good news, now we know :).
In regards to the bath towels, we will definitely check in with our cleaner as there has always been a good supply of upwards of 15-20 towels. We so appreciate the feedback and will get this sorted ASAP.

Clean and comfortable
The property was clean and inviting. Our kids really enjoyed having their own space. The kitchen was nicely stocked with utensils, plates, bowls, pans pots knives coffee maker, etc. You do not need to bring anything. The stove and oven worked quickly. They had plenty of extra towels, blankets, and linen. There were Dvds and board games for the kids. They even had some snow sleds in the garage. The washer and dryer worked well. The heater warmed up quickly. The area was very quiet. It was close to Northstar, Safeway, and the lake. We pulled over on the side of the road nearby to play in the snow (saved about $250 vs going to Northstar) and the kids had a lot of fun and burned off their energy. The town is really small and cozy. We had dinner at local restaurant called Soule Domain and it was nice and cozy( the food wasn't as tasty as I would expect it to be, but the experience was nice). Overall, this was a very nice place to stay especially with kids.
We had a wonderful time at the Northshore Townhouse. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and the setup worked out great with plenty of room for everyone! Not only is the location very convenient but the neighborhood is fairly quiet so when you need to open your windows at night in the summer(no A/C as in most homes in Tahoe) you get a great nights sleep! Townhome is only a short walk away from Kings Beach and a 20 minute drive from Sand Harbor which made it very easy to enjoy some of the best beaches in Tahoe! We had everything we needed to cook and prepare meals, and the kitchen was spacious enough for us to move around in. The only problem we ran into was that there was a “natural gas” smell coming from the laundry area when we first arrived. However, Rachel was incredibly responsive and called me back to explain the smell was coming from the washer (they were in the process of trying to fix it) and they had just had the gas company out to verify it wasn’t a leak. Honestly it wasn’t a big deal after that and had no effect on the rest of our time there. My only suggestion is to bring extra trash bags to dispose of trash because if you are doing a shorter stay you can only utilize one of the trash bins (not that big) and recycling & trash goes into the same bin.
Just spent 4 nights, for a destination Wedding, at the property in Kings Beach. Weather was 50-80 degrees, but the house was always comfortable. Lovely, rustic neighborhood to walk the dog, close to good restaurants and Kings Beach. With 8+ of us, we never felt crowded.
Great location, lots of space, clean and updated, nice hosts - what else could you want for a vacation stay? I loved being so close to Kings Beach and Northstar. The neighborhood is quaint and idyllic. We had everything we needed and more. Super comfy stay. It was a great weekend.
The only issue, which was really minor, is that there were too many remotes and I couldn’t figure out how to work the tvs in any room. I am perfectly happy to vacation without tv, but it would be nice if the systems worked in a more straightforward and simple manner.
Everything was great. The only thing we would have liked to have had would be extra toilet paper in each bathroom and a couple of extra trash bags. It would have been really nice to have a second working shower. Unfortunately,(not the owners fault) the water leaked into the downstairs from the upstairs when the shower was turned on. The owners were very responsive. We loved it here and felt very "at home"!
We had a great stay, but a little disappointed that the fire place didn’t work.

Thank you for the review and information.
The fireplace does take a moment to come on with the remote (black flame will show). When it's cold out the gas settles down low and so it takes a minute to catch with the spark. It appears to be working fine now, we are sorry you had trouble with it.
Great location for enjoying Kings Beach. Walk to lake and food!

About the host
Hosted by Rachel Klinge
Caleb & Rachel Klinge are California natives, and live in Marin county in the San Francisco Bay Area. They have two wonderful children, ages 15 & 12, and an Australian Shepherd. They love the beach and the outdoors, enjoying surfing, hiking, and snowboarding/skiing.
Why they chose this property
Kings Beach is just a great place to spend time as a family. We really like Northstar, whether skiing or just iceskating, and the pristine beaches of the North Shore are just perfect for hanging out in the summer. It's nice to be able to walk to the beach and to some great local restaurants like the Log Cabin Cafe. Kings beach is both relaxing, and at the same time is in the middle of so many fun outdoor activities throughout the year...a great family town. We can get there in 3 hours or less from the Bay Area, and it feels much less 'touristy' than South Lake Tahoe.
What makes this property unique
Our townhouse has a warm modern feel. It's a relaxing place to be. The kitchen is fabulous to cook in, and the open floor plan downstairs makes it a great gathering place for family and friends. The master bedroom is a quiet, relaxing retreat with a couch, a desk to sneak some work in, a walk-in closet, and a master bathroom. Having a garage is definitely a bonus when there is weather. There are enough bathrooms and beds to have two families vacation together without feeling totally cramped. There is WIFI throughout the house. Our house is on a Cul-de-Sac so there isn't any through traffic, keeping things nice and quiet.
