Start now to BOOK Summer in Colorado! You can hike right behind the house to see views of the beautiful lake. Whether you are sitting on the back deck, the front deck, or in the HOT TUB, you can view the stars and the cliffs. And don't forget to bring smore's to cook on the fire pit. Cliffside is the perfect home to escape to and unwind with family and friends. Just a 7-minute drive to Purgatory Mountain where you can mountain bike, paddle board, mountain coaster, mountain slide, etc.
This 4 bedroom home with added basement bunkroom and a bonus loft backs up to beautiful views of cliffs and mountains. The back deck has a grill and firepit to watch hummingbirds and enjoy the scenery of the cliffs. Newly installed AC unit for those who are escaping the heat in the summer.

We know you will enjoy gathering with family and friends in the open concept floor plan. This 3 story home has plenty of room to spread out. As you walk in the entrance you will find the mud room is the perfect location to keep your skis, kayak, and outdoor activity gear. The kitchen is well equipped with 2 refrigerators, cookware, bakeware, utensils, place settings for 20, with a kitchen table to seat 6-10 depending on how many you can squeeze on the bench, plus 2 additional bar stools. On the main floor are two more QUEEN bedrooms with 1 bathroom outside these rooms. Two KING bed master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are located on the top floor with a loft between them with a QUEEN sleeper sofa.

In the basement you enjoy a large game room with ping pong, pop a shot (basketball), darts, and a 55 in TV with playstation. There is also a game closet with several games including monopoly, scrabble, puzzles, checkers, chess, tic tac toe etc. The kids can sleep in the custom made bunk room with 7 twin beds. If you have littles there is 1 crib, a high chair, baby bouncer and baby toys, along with a roll out bed for toddlers who prefer not to sleep in the crib. This should help decrease stress of packing all the extras for the littles. This property is pet friendly with prior approval and additional fee.

When staying at our retreat you have loads of fun in the hot tub, game room, firepit, grilling outside and spending time with family. But if you are here for the outdoor fun, know we are steps away from hiking, mountain biking, 5 minute drive to purgatory ski resort, 20 minutes from town, plus fly fishing, ATV riding, ziplining, kayaking, white water rafting and plenty more.

Guests will be sent a vacation rental agreement by Your Family Retreats to sign at time of booking.

A friendly reminder before your book your stay, is to remember this is a family-owned home. We simply ask that you treat our home with the same respect you would expect one to treat yours. Due to a recent uptick in unauthorized guests, pets and gatherings, we are implementing a strict "one strike" policy for any guests that are found having unauthorized gatherings, pets, or guests with them in the home. Failure to disclose any of the stated above will result in immediate termination of stay with no refund being issued for unused nights.

Awesome family ski weekend

This place was as described in the posting. Contact with the owner was excellent. This home felt like home and we enjoyed it very much. It was well stocked and had plenty to do when we were not on the slopes. We will definitely be renting again.

Perfect home for a large group

This is our second time to stay here. Exactly what we were looking for, with a nice layout and plenty of sleeping space for our large group. It was the perfect distance to the mountain for our ski trip and 15-20 minutes to town. Loved the hot springs after our long hike this trip. Owner was very responsive to all of our questions. It just gets better every time!

Family time

A perfect location for exploring Ophir and Imogene trials. Enjoying Ouray hot springs, Telluride, and Durango. The house was well set up for our group of 12. Kids enjoyed being together downstairs. The Aspens and general scenery were breathtaking, so relaxing. I would highly recommend this house to all. The communication with the owners was very thorough and speedy.

Loved it!!!

Cliffside Retreat was just that, a retreat for our family to meet up with our extended family. It had everything we needed to make it a great stay! Well stocked kitchen, games for the kids, and lots of space for us to gather. Our favorite spot was the back porch with the gas fire pit. It was the perfect spot to end our evening relaxing and enjoying the beautiful quiet views! The owner, Lauren, was quick to respond to any questions we had and shared her favorite hiking spots with us. Definitely coming back here!

Amazing space and location

The property is an great place for a family or a group of friends to stay, as we had friends join us during our stay. Fun times playing ping pong and hoop shots and just hanging in the lower level of the house. It’s ideally located between Downtown Durango and the Purgatory Ski lodge. You can also literally walk out the front door and go for a hike or hop in your car and take a drive for a day trip to Silverton or Telluride, and we did both. Kitchen was ideal and lacked nothing we needed to cook together and have drinks on the deck right outside the door on the back deck. We will definitely be staying here again!

Perfect escape from the TX heat

Cliffside was the perfect escape from our Texas heat. The weather was beautiful here. And the home was just as advertised. Kids loved the game room and the adults spent a great deal of time on the back porch. We road ATVs and went zip lining & hiking. The town was only 20 min away. Lauren was easy to talk to and gave us several recommendations for restaurants. Thank you for all your help!

Amazing Cabin

The pictures do not do it justice. The cabin is super beautiful. We were a group of 11 and a dog ranging from teens to adults. We all loved it. It is very spacious so everyone can spread out and not feel cramped. The beds were comfortable and the game room was fantastic. We cooked a large dinner and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. Communication with the owner was easy and quick. I cannot say enough about how much we liked it. We will definitely be coming back in the summer to enjoy it.

Great Group Property

My extended family and I had a wonderful stay! 16 of us, ranging from baby to grandma, and we all felt comfortable with space and amenities! All the baby/kid items (high chair, full size crib, baby toys, books, roll-away twin bed) were perfect for my 10 month old and 2 year old! The bunk room and games in the basement was great for all the cousins, they loved having their own space. The kitchen was well stocked, the fridge and freezer space was appreciated! We spent every evening on the back porch with the fire pit, and enjoyed the quietness of the area! The location was great for us, as we planned to eat most dinners at the house, but had we wanted to spend more time in downtown Durango, I could see the drive seeming long. Lauren was so helpful with planning ahead of time, her communication was quick, clear and helpful! Hoping we can do another stay before the kids grow too much, so we don’t outgrow this wonderful home!

2nd year staying here & even better this year

Don't question it, just book it. Plenty of space for our large family (2 - 78 years old) to spread out, and something for everyone here. The kids enjoyed the game room and exploring outside while the adults gathered on the porch and the family room. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the view from all the porches. Roughly 20 minute drive to town and maybe 5 minutes to Purgatory mountain where they had plenty of summer activities. We were able hike around the neighborhood as well as several hikes that were suggested around town. It was an added bonus this year to have the Air Conditioner when we were inside. And we absolutely worked this kitchen for breakfast and dinner and found everything we needed to cook with. We didn't need to call for much but when we did Lauren was available to answer all our questions. Truly incredible family memories we will cherish. Definitely booking again next year for our family. Thank you Lauren for all your help!

Welcome! We have managed a local rental property for over 15 years and bought this vacation home in Durango Colorado 8 years ago. My husband and I grew up snow skiing at Purgatory Ski Resort and he learned to fly fish in the Animas. We knew this home was perfect to bring our kids, their friends and our family…which we do all year long. We had a property management company overseeing it for the first 5 years and are now ready to have the pleasure of interacting with our guests. We are a busy family with 4 children (spanning from 7-25) who value escaping the city and spending quality time with them, their friends and our extended family. Why they chose this property

My absolute favorite part is the views. Weather sitting on the back porch with your company, or on the front porch and the double occupancy swing you can view the cliffs, greenery, hummingbirds, and nature. While you can unplug and relax and enjoy the view, the proximity to everything is just an added bonus. We are only 20 minutes from town where you can find grocery stores, movie theaters, shopping, and the cutest town with yummy restaurants, local coffee shops, ice cream shops, breweries, and even ice-skating rink. We are only five minutes from the mountain where you can snow ski in the winter and mountain bike, hike, mountain coaster and slide etc.

This home is unique, because it allows you to have your friends and family to join when there is 4 bedrooms and a large bunk room in the basement. Close to purgatory for skiing and fun summer activities.
