Very convenient to the historic part of Portsmouth. The apartment was clean with a fully stocked kitchen. The beds were comfortable. It was great to have the washer and dryer, too. We had snacks waiting for us when we arrived! Nice touch. I'd definitely stay there again.
This was a great place to stay. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was nicely equipped. Ed communicated with us quickly which was greatly appreciated when our original booking in Norfolk fell through. We enjoyed our stay in Portsmouth and would stay here again
Ed was a great host and had snacks waiting for us upon arrival. He was very prompt to respond to any questions we had. The unit is quiet and on the upper level of a charming historic home in Old Portsmouth. Walking distance to great restaurants and a small park to walk your dog to. Overall, we had a great stay!
The place was great. It was listed on the second floor but I didn’t realize it. We were out exploring most of the time. My chihuahua loved the hallway, she would zoom back and forth playing.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Listing accuracy
First the good: the place was clean the rep there assisted my mother with coming up the stairs and she provided a lot of other information shower pressure was excellentThe bad: my mother had to be escorted up the stairs because it was not advertised that you would have to go upstairs if you had units 3 or 4. The stairs, more than 20 steps are steep. the hallway, bathroom, and rooms are small I would recommend this place if you are staying one night and you are single. We stayed one night.
Host was very responsive with communication. We were starving after a long trip and pleasantly surprised to find a frozen pizza and someCrackers and hummus in the fridge! The property is historically older. Some updates decor and repair is needed but not necessary for our stay. The neighbors in the building are close and we were slightly annoyed with the barking of close by pets first thing in the morning. Overall a 4/5

Sorry to hear about the barking dogs. I’m a pet friendly VRBO but I expect the owners to be respectful of other guests. The building is 107 years old and we are doing continuous maintenance. Our latest project is concentrating on the windows. The building is on the historic register of national places and the park service requires that we keep the original windows.
Old solid brick building. Don't build them like that anymore! Clean, quiet, comfortable. Great choice of restaurants close by and ferry service across river to Norfolk. Had a Great time
Late check in instructions costed! Text by the owner was inconsiderate and made us feel UNWELCOME.This house was unsafe! NOT WORTH THE COST!!! Buldging pealing and cracked walls and ceilings, insufficient outlets, uneven floors and walls, and structure; doors did not close, dirty worn sofas, insufficient kitchen supplies, old rough towels, tiny toilet, intermittent air conditioner in living room, fear of collapsing holes in the balcony floor, worn dirty porch furniture, wobbly banister on steep cement stairs, limited parking in front, blinds broken and set too high to reach, windows lacked privacy, beds were hard, linen and pillows were cheap, bug bit me the last night. Over 20 stairs to climb to a major disappointment. Washer , dryer and water pressure were the best features.
We loved the area. We loved having access (just a few blocks) to the ferry to go into Norfolk. The unit was just what we wanted: quiet, plenty of room for us with two bedrooms. Kitchen had all we needed. Loved the outside veranda especially in the morning.
The apartment was charming; however, it could use some updating. The location was excellent, quiet, and easy access to local stores and restaurants. Ideal for a short stay.
Me and a friend were in town for a concert and decided to arrive the night before and leave the next of the event, this house was perfect and had so much character to it, being in the historic part of Portsmouth, we knew exactly what to expect! If we ever go back that away, we will definitely rent it again.
