There are no neighbors in site which makes this place a great secluded getaway. Very nice cabin with a lot of amenities and the hosts were very responsive. Wonderful vacation spot!
Best stay at any other we have gone to. It has 14 acres that you have NO ONE AROUND YOU!!! Bonus access to boat launch right next to it! Exceptional communication with the owners. Extremely clean cabin, every room inside, 100%. Most awesome trip ever.
The property was super clean, accommodated various family throughout our time there and provided every single thing we needed during our stay. There were deer and coyote, lots of birds and a fantastic outdoor space to enjoy it all, not to mention the lake and private dock. Absolutely amazing. What a wonderful find this was for us! Will definitely be back.
I’ve been taking my kids on a yearly cabin adventure for years, this was by far our favorite stay yet. Super cute cabin, love the open yard down to the lake and the water was perfect. Cabin has everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
What a delightful escape for our family to celebrate Mother's Day and our son's 3rd birthday! Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat at Dead Lake. The serene woodland setting provided a refreshing change of pace for our family. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
We booked this for ice fishing, but due to the unexpected warm weather we were unable to get out on the lake. This gave us time to spend with friends. This place is cozy and a great get away.
The cabin was the perfect size for us! The dogs loved all the private space to run around. My husband and I loved the cabin and were left dreaming about what the place looks like in the summer. Thanks to the hosts for opening up such a beautiful cabin for us to stay and enjoy!
Had very enjoyable visit. Relaxed, played on the grounds and in the lake! Cooked out, ate smores and enjoyed the quiet. Thoroughly relaxing time by all including our Golden Ozzy!
Would love to come back !
Thank you for sharing your home.
We stayed at this property as a home base while visiting several MN state parks. It was simply awesome and is perfectly situated between Glendalough and Maple Haven. We loved every minute and hope to come again. The massive snow drifts did not deter our winter adventures and the cozy cabin was relaxing to enjoy in the evening. Thank you for sharing this special place with others.
Property is just as pictured. Host is very responsive to a couple minor items we incurred. Public launch right next door and we had rented fishing boat delivered and picked up. Well stocked in kitchen. Patio is beautiful with furniture and perfect lake view. We went to a couple state parks nearby. Our stay was cut short due to family emergency but enjoyed our time there.
was a perfect spot with boat launch next door, plenty of space for parking, cabin was clean and had all the essentials, campfire ring was in the perfect spot. no neighbors, walks in the morning down gravel roads with deer everywhere was enjoyable. fishing could have been better, but oh well
The cabin was spectacular for everything. It was a warmish early spring couple of days - ice was still on the lake so no water activities. The hiking was great in the area. The cabin was secluded but close to amenities including Blackboard restaurant. We spent a day at Glendalough State Park. The late afternoon we had a bonfire outside and watched people ice fishing out on the lake. Two things I would suggest for the place (but not deal breakers) is a blue tooth speaker and a kettle. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Easy check in/out process that was preemptively communicated by the manager. The property is situated in a cozy isolated area on the lake which made it even more relaxing. So many amenities inside from a pack and play that we utilized for our daughter to various cooking utensils and supplies. The fire pit and patio areas looked like a great time for the upcoming summer with the string lights were charming. Only thing that we could suggest is a sidewalk or pavers leading from the parking to the cabin as it’s muddy spring time. Would definitely recommend this property and hope to stay again!
The pictures are the exact replica of this property!! It was amazing to have such beautiful and fairly quiet lake access. While the public beach access is quite close, it’s not as noisy as I expected! Just be aware that yourself and your dogs need to be checked a couple times a day for ticks. The four of us and our 4 dogs each pulled numerous ticks off!! Another a couple annoying flies and a few mosquitoes, we were pretty much bug free—the owners do a great job at spraying their lawn property. I got amazing sunset views off the lake! My dogs had an ultimate blast, the house is gorgeous, the kitchen is well well-stocked. Everything was so great, I really enjoyed our stay and look forward to re-booking in the future!!!
We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back.
‘LOTS of positives too many to mention.
So…these are not really criticisms! They are observations for the owners that they may wish to address.
The grill was dirty and the propane went dry on first use with no apparent spare.
Some may like the huge high-loft bed pillows (we did Not & bought our own).
‘Could really use a quality can opener. There were 2 there, neither worked.

Thank you for your insight, Fred! We always have extra full canisters of propane in the deck box on the patio. We will be getting a new can opener.
Wonderful! Family friendly! Kind & thoughtful hosts!
Hosts were thoughtful, considerate, and welcoming; supportive throughout reservation process & quick to respond to my many questions prior to arrival. They were willing to make accomodations to support needs of my family: 5 adults, 6 children (6 yrs of age & under) & a dog! Inside was extremely clean, organized, stocked, comfortable, & open. Like home, but better! The large outdoor space supported long days of fishing off their steady dock, swimming (with soft sand around dock, perfect for kids), frog hunting, playing yard games, socializing & grilling on the patio, & enjoying the beauty of nature. Flies were a little annoying, but harmless....WAY better than being eaten by mosquitoes (professionally sprayed between house and dock). As I already mentioned, hosts were so incredibly thoughtful, providing everything we could possibly need & more! Family votes to return next year! Thank you, Haus Stays!
