Wonderful week on McGrath Pond

It had been a couple years since we visited the Belgrade lakes and we're very pleased we picked the cottage on McGrath pond. The place was as described and had everything we needed, the owner was responsive to any questions we had and the water was spectacular. We'll look forward to a future opportunity to return for sure. Lovely Lake…HOT Camp

The camp is well located and right on the lake. We left 4 days early as it was too hot in the camp. There is no AC and the fans provided weren’t sufficient to cool down the cabin despite having all the windows open. There isn’t any shade and the hot sun cooks the camp. It is truly a camp; not a cabin or house. It is appropriate for a small family or a couple as there are no doors on any rooms; just curtains in between the rooms and a hard plastic divider in the bathroom. The lattice work under the house was left open causing a potential hazard for young children. The lake itself is beautiful and the slides and trampoline in the water are very fun. The sheets and towels are comfortable but the kitchen lacks basics—no salt or pepper and only one kitchen towel.

Sam, sorry you didn't like the Sunset Cottage. Clearly advertised as a cottage not a house, with lots of pictures and not hiding anything. 2 bedroom 1 bath seasonable cottage, at a very affordable price per night. Paddle Board and canoe, life jackets and paddles, floating water slide and trampoline included. No claim of AC, and doubt anyone would expect it given the description and pictures. But now have added for those that need it. We have 2 homes next door 5 bedroom and 6 bedrooms 2 kitchens and AC throughout if that is what you are looking for but not at that price point in High Season in Maine. Hope you will find something more suitable and enjoy Maine in another spot.
