Very dirty

The place was very dirty and dusty. I had issues with my asthma due to this. There was visible dust and dirt everywhere. I brought this to the owners attention and he feigned ignorance when I see many people mentioned these things in reviews. The check-in process was weird as we were expected to get there before receiving the info to enter. There were not enough towels or lines or anything else for that matter.

DO NOT STAY AT HERE - HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS

If I could upload photos to this review, the images would do all the talking for me. This place is disgusting! The owner does not take care of this property, at all. I paid a service fee to find black mold in the bathroom ceiling and bugs crawling around in the damp carpet throughout the living room. Even if I felt so inclined to clean up this house, you can't get to any cleaning products - either because he doesn't have them or they are locked up. I've tried since July to get the owner to refund the cleaning fee and VRBO says "he is unresponsive." See Aug. 2023 1-star review Kathleen stayed after me (after I complained to VRBO w/photos), & had same mold issue. If you have children, this place is not safe - TV stand is barely put together and hot tub has no means to keep the lid on safely & can be easily removed. I was told there would be certain products there, like trash bags & laundry detergent, which weren't. Also, one AC unit DOES NOT cool the entire house in the summer. This place is not suitable for summer occupancy, period. The trees behind his house are literally sitting on the roof - one bad storm & the roof is going to cave. In conclusion, VRBO should really make more of an effort to take customer complaints seriously and ensure homeowners are doing they absolute best to make sure their properties are safe and clean for guests. Otherwise, stop charging customers for a service & cleaning fee and stop letting owners take advantage of customers!!

Could be better

It’s not a first time we got rental house in Poconos but it’s a first time the pictures doesn’t match to reality , the house is old, I mean it’s really need to be renovated : the walls, furniture, the floor in a bedroom was wet permanently because of dampness I believe. Also there was not any table in patio at all and the branch chairs weren’t clean, the oven was not cleaned since it’s been used last time.. well,the pros: the biggest plus there was a hot tub , which is in good condition and was really very nice to have some hours in it..the owner is very responsive and attentive. The community and neighborhood is adorable, the pool, the lakes and boats, cafes.. absolutely gorgeous. In overall of course we are satisfied but for the price we paid we could get better rental house.

Complete deep cleaning needed

There is so much that needs to happen with this property, starting with a deep cleaning. The mold above the shower, the thick dust on the ceiling fans & box fans, mold & dust on the A/C unit. The dining room light had 2 lights out & the kitchen had 3 out - which made it tough to see. The upstairs tub wasn’t draining - text the owner & told me to use the drain-o under the sink. Couldn’t leave the back screen open because it was ripped, as well as the kitchen window. This could be a great house - but the amount of dust and other items that were broken or not working was a bit much. We know we were on vacation - but it was just all too much.

Excellent Pocono getaway

My family had a lovely stay at the Rooster house. There was plenty of sleeping arrangements for my core family and even for grandma, grandpa, aunt and nephew! We loved the large dining room table that sat our whole party of 9 for food, laughter, and games. There was adequate seating in the living room as well. We also appreciated that the Rooster house is pet friendly so we could have our dog along with us. The location was central for our activities which included whitewater rafting, Aquatopia, Bushkill Falls, Country Junction, Jim Thorpe and outlet shopping. Wonderful time had by all.
