Family getaway
We had a great time at this house. It’s a perfect house for a family with a couple kids and great for dogs. The upstairs bedroom is basically a loft so as long as you plan to go to sleep after everyone is done in the living room it’s fine. Beautiful view from the deck and the location is secluded so it’s very quiet. Highly recommend this house! We look forward to coming back again in the future.

Highly Recommend!
My husband and I took my parents for a week long stay to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary and their 67th wedding anniversary. Just pulling up to the property we were already overwhelmed with the beauty and the view. Then walked in the house and felt comfy immediately. Everything was clean. The tv was set up easy to get all our apps to work. The basket with s’mores ingredients was a plus and we had a fire one night and used them. We ate at The Dillard House and The Ugly Dog and Wild Thyme. Loved all three of them. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the home and he was beyond kind. We never thought of anything we needed or wanted that wasn’t there. Just a wonderful stay overall.

Roomy and nice deck space.
Has potential but needs work. Not enough working lighting in main rooms. No a/c in the loft and while the main floor can be cooled, the loft gets all the hot air with no escape. Fans help in the cooler nights and mornings but not during the day. Bathrooms are nice, showers have great pressure and very hot water. Plenty of linens provided but no soap! TVs in each bedroom but only only living room and loft TVs worked. Smart TVs so be prepared to use your own streaming networks or the one live ap. Kitchen appliances are nice and plenty of cooking and serving pieces. Cabin is on a very private dirt road .6 miles from paved road. Not difficult to navigate but hope you don't have someone coming the other way. Sunsets are awesome and spent most time on the back porch with a book.

Cabin review
The back porch sold us on the cabin. Beautiful views! It was a quiet restful place to land after a long drive. This was our first trip to highlands. We had a great time. Some improvements I would recommend is the lighting in the kitchen and great room. Many lights were not working. The light above the kitchen sink was not working. We did eat most of our meals in the cabin. Hard to cook when the lights were not working. Only one light in great room was working. The inside flood lights were also not working, which made the great room dark. The ceiling fan in the downstairs bedroom on the right was not working. We ended up using the portable fan, which was a life saver because the window unit didn't work the greatest. The screen on the front door was torn. May want to fix that soon because it made it difficult to open and close the door. Improvements aside, it was a wonderful place. Loved the fenced in porch. We brought our little Boston terrier and it was wonderful not to have to watch him constantly. Made it safe for pets, which was awesome!

Relaxing
The directions were great from the owner. The kitchen was well stocked. The home was very spacious and we enjoying the tranquility and views from the cabin. It is a little remote, so a car that can handle a gravel road is ideal. It was nice to get away from the city
